Get the inFamous bundle in 2 weeks or so. If inFamous doesn't appeal to you, then wait. Repeat for each new release / bundle.
Unfortunately these days not a lot is worth the hype in my opinion - but I'm old :)
I find a lot of Indie games are more hype-worthy than AAA's.
Last game I would say that really deserved the hype was Batman Arkham City as it was the follow up to such an unexpectedly good game. Whether it totally met the hype is another story...
@4Sh0w
Take a breath dude. Your wall of text needs some paragraphs; otherwise it just looks like one huge insane vent.
If you think this site really is biased, then walk away. Get your news elsewhere. Just as they say 'vote with your wallet' when it comes to buying games, 'vote with your clicks' here.
For those of us who have been around a few years, there is no difference between the whining and complaining of Xbox fanboys...
A while back I got an email from GAME that if I traded in my PS3 (or 360) and 5 games I could get an XB1 with 1 game for £299.
It was a pretty tempting deal as I had a load of PS3 games that were barely worth anything, and it's hard to get anything above about £50-80 for trade-in or eBay for an old Slim PS3.
But ultimately, what it came down to is whether there were any Must Have titles on the horizon for the XB1. At this stage, even with Titan...
Your tinfoil hat is firmly in place I see. It was a dupe article... And what does that have to do with the topic at hand?
I know I'll get flamed for this. But for me, Uncharted 3 and TLoU were solid and fun - but they didn't blow my doors off the way the Jak and Daxter series, or Uncharted 2 did.
The hype for their games and fevered reverence of them as a developer is pretty ridiculous - but to each their own. If people want to deify them, they can.
I have no doubt they'll produce something awesome for Uncharted 4 - I'd just like to see something different tha...
@BX81
That might change when Gakai is finally launched... :)
It would be nice to think that Sony could check the PS3 games we have purchased via PS+ or on the store and give us the streaming versions of those playable on PS4
There seems to be a definite lack of taking responsibility or appreciation of the consequences of their actions with a lot of the younger generation these days.
It would be interesting to really know what factors are causing this, or whether it is simply that things like this have always happened - but the internet has allowed the news to be broadcast further.
Take football hooliganism which was a big problem in the 80's in the UK for example. - No one ...
Ok, so I do agree with that. PS+ Instant Games Collection is by far the better service.
However, for those people who are brand new to XBox360, I guess it could be nice to get an old Halo game or early Assassins Creed. Maybe.
Still... No reason why MS couldn't give people old games AND some newer titles...
No. Think Lukas made a typo. He meant to say PS3/4
PS+ PS3 games are only available on PS3. Same for PS4.
However, if you access the Sony store online you do have the option of buying or downloading any Vita, PS3, PS4 title to the respective system. I have started to use this more than the online stores on each console / handheld.
It is especially useful to use the online store for PS4 games, as I can start the games downloading remotely. ...
@Emrage
By 'lasts longer' I assume you mean that you get to keep them on GwG vs 'renting' them through PS+?
If so, I don't see a huge difference. I have had a PS+ account from almost day 1. So those games are always there for me. I don't intend to get rid of my Plus account any time soon, so to all intents and purposes those games are mine.
Also, even if I cancel my Plus account those games stay in my download list ...
@Emrage
Dead Nation, Resogun and Don't Starve are awesome.
To each their own, but I would have paid for Resogun and Dead Nation if I didn't have a PS+ account (any game by Housemarque gets my attention). And I have previously purchased Don't Starve on PC.
Throw in the games that are on PS3 / Vita as part of PS+ and things look very good.
I think both games can live side by side - if you like one you should get the other. FTL has more of a crew management feel, and Out There is more ship management and story.
Both are excellent and I look forward to playing FTL on iOS.
One thing is for certain. There would have been no original Playstation launched when it did.
As Sony were partnered with Nintendo to produce a CD add-on for the SNES it is arguable whether Sony would have struck out on their own so early.
The singular fact that Nintendo ditched that partnership and the add-on is the reason we have the Playstation hardware today.
It is possible the Sony partnership was similar to Microsoft and Sega for the D...
Why is this being asked now?
It's well known that Nintendo ditched the CD add-on for the SNES. Which they were partnered with Sony to produce. Sony picked up the ball and took that tech as a starting point for the original Playstation.
When they were hawking the PSX round to developers like Square - the masses of capacity offered by CD's was appealing, and would allow them to deliver their vision for Final Fantasy... FFVII would never have been pos...
Modding API would be my number 1.
Nooooo, not this old chestnut again!
One thing we know, is that as SDK's get better, memory usage goes down, devs get more experienced with hardware - and the games get better looking and more impressive in scope.
Please, Ready at Dawn, don't become 'one of those devs' that talk about maxing out hardware with every game.
@Darth
I dunno what time (or reality) you're from.
But since I started gaming there has always been the banter about which console is better or worse.
From arguments about how the Spectrum had only 8 colours compared to the Commodore 64 (but at least the Speccy had more and better games). To how the Amiga stomped all over the Atari ST (but at least the ST had a better soundchip).
People will always discuss, argue, trashtalk. ...
You do know that whilst the MS Entertainment Division has made profit the last few quarters they are still 2billion in the hole overall from the XBox project?
Fortunately MS have deep enough pockets to write that off - but it's that loss, the huge R&D costs every gen, and the minuscule profit (compared to MS' main products) that is why so many investors want XBox sold off.
Although I'm sure Sony would jump at the profit MS makes off Entertainm...
News like this, and the follow up comments are why I love N4G.
The delusion, gnashing of teeth, and pure idiocy of fanboys is just brilliant.
