Looks interesting.. But seriously.. For us lesser non-e-sport-pro mortals... How much better is our game going to get from buying this??
I have a Razer Anansi that I got as it has some nice MMO features, but definitely a bit over-priced and under-featured.
Off topic... SquareEnix have said they are going to give a free upgrade from PS3 to PS4 version. I managed to get a copy on PS3 for about £8.00 on Amazon.
Even though I mainly play FFXIV on PC I thought a deal like that was too good to pass up, so it'll be nice to have the option of playing at my desk or on the sofa.
I agree there's nothing wrong with buying the game and then paying a sub. But in general the up front cost for MMO games has always been lower than non-subscription games.
For example Final Fantasy XIV is really cheap on PS4, PC and PS3. Other MMO's have similar pricing.
The problem with ESO is that they are charging full price, and a subscription. I don't like that. It makes me think two things.. 1) They are banking on the Elder Scrolls name ...
Why is this a 'versus' question.
They are totally different games.
I guess if we have to talk about the dawn of the new-gen... You could argue one is a multiplat FPS built to run on last-gen hardware; the other an exclusive third person adventure built to take advantage of the new-gen platform.
Game is good value. I have got a few hours in to it, and intend to invest a lot more
Then you better work for yourself, as this can happen in almost any and every company.
And we still don't (and never will) know exactly what went on, or the motivations of both parties.
Now, I'm sure MS don't want to come in last a third generation in a row, but with the WiiU sales I don't think that'll happen anyway.
However, I don't see the XB1 overtaking the PS4. Not because of any fanboy loyalty, but because the PS3 at a higher price point outsold the 360 world wide from year 1 onwards - which shows the PlayStation brand still has a lot of strength. Throw in that the PS4 sales have been higher than Sony expected, and it's the ch...
The only thing worse than hyping the hype before the hyped event is the endless 'who won E3' articles after the hyped event :)
@AndrewLB
Take another look at that piece of 'journalism' you linked to. No actual quote or even a link.
Here's the actual quote:
"There were lots of people who gave their opinions on that issue to my Twitter account before E3," SCE Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida told Famitsu magazine this week.
"It's not that our hardware policies are decided strictly based on user reaction like t...
Hmm, so what sort of announcement would constitute 'the biggest surprise ever'?
MS buys PlaysStation from Sony. That would be surprising.
GTA VI is exclusive to XB1. That would do it.
Re-enabling DRM... Nah, that wouldn't surprise me at all.
@Mystogan
Your delusion is amusing.
Articles like this... Just regurgitating the actual news source, and then trying to add weak unresearched opinion is why video game journalism is in the gutter.
I think the only urgent update required is to the Twitch backend. Their servers are still damn creaky under load and their website / apps are pretty poor.
A bump to 720 or 1080 would be nice for PS4, but hardly essential right now. I would also like a slightly nicer layout to the UI.
It's kinda amusing how the last few days perfectly good stuff like KZ:SF MP and now Twitch have suddenly become awful products because someone noticed they are not what the...
What disappointed me was that it was so forgettable.
There were no moments that stick with me. A great game creates memories; and a really great game creates different memories for different people.
I did like the idea of the OWL, but I felt it was a bit of a crutch for the game play, and an excuse to use the touchpad. There was potential to set up awesome crossfire ambushes - but these were few and far between.
It was a pretty solid effort...
I would happily live with less bells and whistles in next-gen games if it meant processing power could be devoted to AI that wasn't as dumb as a bag of rocks
Although saying KZ:SF was one of the worst games you ever played seems a bit strong. I thought it was OK.
I know history is no indicator of the future... But have you not seen the depth and breadth of games launched for PS1, 2 and 3?
There is every reason to be confident that Sony will continue to have the same track record of diverse and high quality games for the PS4.
Oh yeah, so who actually believes this? It's obvious that Kaz has 5.9 million PS4's hidden in his back garden. If Sony committed the heinous lie of KZ:SF MP sorta but not really running at 1080p how are we supposed to believe anything any more!!
THE CAKE IS A LIE!
/jk
KZ has always been an SP game first for me. I liked the MP in KZ2, but never felt the urge to play it in KZ:SF.
I would still expect more to regularly playing it, eve if it were only because there are so few MP titles on the PS4 right now.
Seriously? Every PS4 game should undergo a pixel test?
As Xbox fans have been saying for months... 'What does resolution matter, the game play / fun is all that is important'.
What's changed?
Perfect time for Jack to step down.
In terms of career highlights he has a pretty big collection, and I suspect hearing people chanting 'Sony' during last years E3 must have been a pretty huge high point. Smacking the absolute crap out of a competitor again must have been sweet too.
I doubt he'd want to stick around another 5-7+ years to see PS5 launched, so it's a good time to go.
He's help set up SCEA for the future. <...
