I agree, but if we look at things base on history, MS are more likely to go for partnerships, timed exclusives and marketing.
Plus their bargaining power is going to be significantly reduced. It was probably easy to secure some exclusive content when they were a few million units ahead of the PS3- but what publisher / developer is going to ignore the PS4 momemtum or risk annoying their PlayStation fan base.
Add in that there are rumblings from MS that the Xb...
I'm genuinely curious how you come to that conclusion. :)
I would love a new Dino Crisis game, but I have no expectations that one will be announced, or that it would be XB1 exclusive
'Massive' sales have nothing to do with it.
MS want to wring every last sale out of the XB1 version. Delaying the 360 version makes sense.
If even 1 person who has been waiting for the 360 version, ends up buying a TitanFall bundle, that's a win for MS.
EDIT: I don't agree with this tactic, as I think 360 owners should have been able to get the game Day 1. But from a business point of view MS need to do anything and everyth...
I've tried both.
The OLED is better, but it's not a huge difference - it's just... different. And if you have never seen the LED screen next to the OLED then you'll still be massively impressed.
I had the choice of both and went for the Slim as I prefer the form factor and the reduction in weight is significant. The redesigned back touch pad / grip is much better too. The extra hour of battery life was a bonus. Overall trading the above fo...
Whilst I don't have any interest (yet) in the XB1, I agree that the DRM issue overshadowed an otherwise solid showing for MS last year. I wouldn't say they were miles ahead, but they definitely had more games to announce.
Sony had an OK show - the price point and jabs at MS was epic; but this year they need to really step up the game announcements.
Either way this years E3 will be very interesting - but I'll miss Jack Tretton's presentation, ...
Cut out the 30mins of dubstep and the endless parade of celebs who are only there for the money and there would be plenty of time.
Yeah, I went with the entry level Haswell socket Asus RoG board. Had all the features I needed and has been rock solid. Very impressed.
I have gone with cheaper models in the past, but found that features and overclocking potential much reduced.
Like anything you have to weigh up budget vs quality vs features.
8.7!
What a fail, I'm only buying games that score 8.8 or higher this gen. That 0.1 makes ALLL the difference, as any true hardcore gamer will tell you. And don't get me started on how superior games that score 8.9 are!

Whenever an article posted to N4G has a title with a question mark at the end... The answer is usually 'No'.
These sites should try coming to some actual conclusions based on journalistic skills.
Does anyone know what FPS Thief, EVE or the Sony demos were running at? No? Didn't think so.
Did anyone testing the prototype mention there was intrusive flickering indicating 30FPS? No? Didn't think so.
Sounds to me that Sony know what they are doing.
And to the people creating some sort of e-peen contest over OR vs PSVR - what's the point? It's GOOD NEWS that we now have two company's pushing VR. It means more devs a...
I'd be willing to pay £199 for this. Which means it'll probably ship at £249
Thinking about the BoM...
All the tech in the PSVR unit is from areas of Sony business where they have experience or in-house manufacturing.
They manufacture the screens for the Vita which are now LCD (I wonder if this is related. As using small scale LCD screens in the Vita could help push costs down when they need to manufacture for the PSVR - s...
Great, so now we have endless arguments about PSVR vs OR. AND PS4 vs XB1.
Ultimately... If you own a PS4 then the PSVR headset is by far the best option for you.
If you own a PC then OR is probably best unless Sony make the PSVR PC compatible, in which case buy the device that gives the best best price / performance
Arguing about specs for prototype devices is even more pointless than arguing about which console is best.
I agree (except if it's Jak and Daxter PS4)
I think the amount of stuff shown for the PS VR at E3 will directly proportional to the release date.
If Sony show very little then an Xmas 2015 or early 2016 is likely the release date.
If they show a lot... Then just keep your fingers crossed :)
I thought Kameo was a solid launch title. Had potential for a sequel and a good long term franchise.
But in general everything since Star Fox Adventures has been lacklustre.
I would agree with everything in this article if it wasn't for the simple fact that Rare is just a name, and it was the employees who made great games.
The original culture and employee group is gone. I don't think it'll be coming back.
I'm also surprised at how MS has failed completely to really leverage the IP it gained from spending 375million to buy Rare. In 12years how many AAA games have they released based on Rare IP.
...
Crazy talk!! :) Tech manufacturers working together on a common standard! That would be far too sensible!
I have my fingers crossed that a) VR sets use a fairly common set of tools to implement the functionality, and b) Sony make the PlayStation VR headset PC compatible and just as feature rich as the Occulus.
I really don't want to buy an Occulus Rift and a PlayStation VR headset...
If the SDK's and other tools make it easy to incorporate VR functionality in the normal games design pipeline (e.g. It doesn't add cost or time to development), there's no reason it wouldn't succeed.
Also, if games are backwards compatible with the VR devices - perhaps through a driver from the manufacturer - it would definitely help shift a few units.
It may take a generation or two for the tech to really catch on (especially if it appears th...
Gimmick? VR is the one tech that would actually be a game changer. It would be the biggest step forward since games jumped form 2D to 3D.
Two genres that would benefit massively from VR...
First person horror games
Racing games
Although almost any first person game would benefit. Skyrim, TitanFall etc.
Also, you need to think outside the box...
Imagine if you had a game, like Battlefield 4 or and team based...
I thought they showed Forza 5 running on a Nvidia based PC at GDC to show off DX12? And it only took a 4 man team a couple of months iirc.
