That's the idea! They can now beef up the login and game servers accordingly. This was like a stress test. Sure they may have underestimated the demand, but never the less, the amount of data they must have got from people hammering the servers will ensure a much more robust final product.

Adding one small box to the PS3 adds a bunch of features. Freeview, PVR, dual HD tuners, and 'Slingbox' type functionality.

The ONLY reason the 360 install is optional is because Microsoft screwed up by not fitting an HDD as standard to all models.
What 360 owner is their right mind (if they have an HDD) is NOT going to do the install? You'd have to be an idiot not to.

I'm sure I'll get disagrees for this, but as a proud owner of a 360, PS3 and Wii with no favourite console this is my take on the subject.
For many devs the The 360 is now the 'baseline' for development. Especially with PC centric developers. I don't say this because I think it's underpowered compared to PS3 but because it's been out longer.

Looking at the straight lines, like the lamps in the bottom right screen, the telephone wires, and the curve of the arc in the background... I don't see any. And they would be areas where jaggies normally show up.

Did you blow up the scan from a magazine page to 300% or something, because I don't see the jaggies myself. And it's pretty hard to comment on texture work from magazine scans. It all looks nice to me.
People need to look past all the technical cr@p and start appreciating graphics for the style, aesthetics, and artistic merits with in the game world the devs create. Not OMFG Game X runs at 719p rather than 720p!

I have an AMD 3800X2 CPU, 2GB Ram and an AGP X1950XTX. The card is pre-overclocked, but the rest of the system is running at stock.
It can run Crysis on all Medium settings at 1360x768. I've not bothered tweaking the graphics settings as the frame rate was pretty solid most of the time.
The next time a component fails, or when a game comes out that doesn't run acceptably then I'll buy a new PCIe based rig, but for now my system is fine.

I think his point was more that the devs have stated that Disgaea 3 could not be done on a PS2.
The reviewer feels differently which is his prerogative. However I doubt he has the knowledge of what it took to develop the game compared to previous versions.
I own both a PS3 and 360, so I decided to cancel my Gold account.
Even though it costs very little it's still a bit galling that I have to pay at all. The ONLY game I occasionally played online was Halo 3, so in effect I was paying a subscription JUST to play one game online. That's crazy and no matter how low the monthly cost it's not good value.

Chrono Trigger is one of my favourite RPG's. I'd love to see a 3D remake.
It certainly falls under the 'they don't make 'em like that any more' type of game. I loved how you could complete it in so many ways.
It's shame I only ever got to play this one on emu; never released in PAL territories, and yet is still so widely regarded.
