I can't believe some people are saying 8.7 is a LOW score!! :)
For me anything over 7.5 is probably going to be an OK game!
People seem to have got it in to their heads that unless a game gets 9.5 or 10 then it's not AAA - and worst still websites seem to be pandering to this thinking. I have no idea what the heck is going on with reviews these days but I have almost NEVER played a game that was worth a 10.
GTAIV is so over scored it's untrue. Halo 3 t...

"1080p at 120fps" comment
Or
How the PS3 was supposed to have 2 HDMI ports and 4 ethernet ports etc.
Any sane person knows those comments were just FUD spewed by Sony to deflect attention away from the Xbox 360 launch. Unfortunately comments like that prove ample ammo for crazy PR people to latch on to and regurgitate years later.
Both companies have over-hyped and made promises...
"DO NOT LOOK UNTO OTHERS GARBAGE IF YOU YOURSELF ALSO HAS A LOT GARBAGE"... Is that from the bible?? :)
This could be cool if it gets released in EU / US. I really like SRPG's.
Personally I'm waiting for the PS3 version of Disgaea. I'm still playing the PSP version. Whilst I love the 2D sprites it'd be cool to see Disgaea brought in to 3D - but I guess it might lose some of it's charm.
Demo's are a double edged sword.
I've played demo's of games that were barely on my radar, loved them and bought them. But then there's been demo's of games I thought were 'must haves' only to find the demo was poor and decided not to buy the game.
Demo's are vital to the industry, but they HAVE to reflect the final product otherwise they are just worthless as marketing tools.
The great thing about PSN and XBL is that smaller devs, with smaller marketin...
I'm bracing myself for the inevitable proprietary file format that locks everyone in to an overpriced 2.5" Nintendo branded external Wii hard drive! :)
So far I've only downloaded Lost Winds and My Life as a King - both of which are awesome. But Blocks are now running low.
I'm not completely adverse to copying games from SD to memory each time - I reinstall PC games now and again if I fancy playing old games - the Wii situation isn't much different. And it's n...

101. Doing a burnout in a car until the tyres explode.
That's an interesting viewpoint yanikins..
I'm the total opposite. I find it slightly annoying that the 'best' moves are not in the hands of the player.
To see Raiden or Snake pulling off moves that I can not do when playing that charcater just reinforces that we still have a long way to go before game play matches developer imagination.
I can understand, to a point, that some eloborate moves may be impossible to pull off, and may be required for ...
For me this is a good news / bad news thing...
90minute cutscenes seem a bit over the top to me. That's close to the length of a film in one cutscene. Is Kojima (or any developer) really good enough to hold an audiences attention for that long?
I was always intrigued by the stories in MGS games, but often found the method of story telling a bit long winded and lacking actual exposition, drama or excitement.
It certainly blurs the lines between gam...

GRID is a day 1 purchase for me (as are most driving games to be honest). I love the Codemasters driving games, right back to TOCA 2 on PS1.
They strike a nice balance between arcade and sim. The handling may not be for everyone, but those who like it tend to love the games.
I find you have to be way more precise in Race Driver games compared to Forza or GT. generally the punishment is higher in Race Driver, so you have to get it 'just right'. GT and Forza ar...
I hope Trophies really are in the update. Achievements on the 360 are a great thing and I miss 'em on the PS3.
I was surprised the number of games supporting them is as high as 70%. I was expecting it to be around 25-35%, with many devs patching it in later.
GTAIV is a mixed bag. On one hand I love it, but then I start thinking about Vice City and and how much more there is to do and how it fun it was.
Fingers crossed they've hugely expanded on the original.
I liked it, but found it got boring quickly. There was nothing fundamentally wrong with the game, I think it just lacked something to keep me hooked.
The problem with the original game is that MS/Rare was trying to aim it at the casual and younger demographic. - But I don't know any casual gamers who had a remote interest in it, or any parents who bought it for their kids. In general it was too complex for ki...
I'm looking forward to moving to FF3. From what I've seen so far it renders far quicker than any of the competition.
Just need all the various Add-Ons I use to become fully FF3 compatible and I'll be ready to go.
I totaly agree with you Statix... I have a feeling that Haze won't be 720p native. The devs words were a bit too ambiguous. But whatever!
I'm here to play games, not count pixels.
What does counting pixels actually prove?
That PS3 and 360 can't do 720p in some games? Big deal.
For every fantastic game that does run at 720p there's one that doesn't. It doesn't diminish enjoyment of the games, it just gives ammo to fanboys.
It...
'experts like Quaz_51'
Wow, I didn't realise that using a magnifying glass and being able to count made you an expert these days! Even more impressive as it's expertise in an area that means... nothing, to the overall game play!
:)
Perhaps the MS servers are running on 20GB proprietary hard drives, so they have to clear off some of the old games to make space for the new stuff /joke
