Nintendo, by accident or design, have placed the Wii in a 'casual, non-hardcore, mass market no-man's-land'.

Old classics like Mario Kart and Super Mario / Mario 64 platform games are turning in to watered down pale imitations of their former glories.

I have been a staunch Nintendo supporter for many many years. New Nintendo hardware is always a day 1 purchase for me. There's only so many times you can hear Nintendo cry 'we still love the hardcore gamers'. The rea...

The PS3 has a crash screen??? Who knew!

I guess if you want to put your leet Photoshop ability to use by colouring in the power light on a PS3 photo Orange then more power to your mad skillz!

Quote from the article

"There have been many “sub-HD” games this generation, from Halo 3 to Call of Duty 4. To most the differences will be negligible and won’t detract from the gameplay experience"

So the question is... Why bother analysing?

Sure it adds to fanboy arguments and generates page hist for the site in question, but really it's not helping any body.

When I first logged in to the beta, y'know what my first reaction was....

Isn't this just a blog reporting on Eurogamer's last head to head?

So we get a posting on N4G when Eurogamer does a comparison piece (good, it's news), and then a posting on N4G when some blog site comments on the Eurogamer article!!

Cool, maybe I'll do a piece commenting on Lazygamer, which comments on Eurogamer and get it on N4G. Then someone can do a piece commenting on me, commenting on LazyGamer commenting on Eurogamer and get it on N4G. Then someone can....!! ...

Playing at the moment. Will give some impressions for those yet to feign sickness at work and get home!! :)

For those coming from CoD4, get ready for slower paced action! First thing I had to do was up the sensitivity/camera speed.

The biggest (and maybe most obvious) thing, is that well organised teams are going to annihilate the opposition.

Choosing Skill sets is nice, but until a community develops that knows how to best use them (and again well org...

I stopped reading Gizmodo after the CES disruption. (They were turning off TV's using 'TV-B-Gone' devices. They caused a lot of problems especially during a Motorola presentation.)

The PS3 failure article seems like a load of rubbish. It's basically a 'friend of a friend of a friend' story designed to get hits, and cunningly disguised as a 'we want your opinions' piece.

The fact the author is calling people a-holes in the comments section and banning them just for...

MS and Sony need to tread carefully here.

If a shop has sold a copy early it's not the individuals fault for playing it and they should not be penalised in any way.

However if it's pirated then MS and Sony should try and make examples out of these people.

The problem is identifying the pirates, which is going to be very tough.

These comparisons are handy as I own both consoles, so if I ever go insane and decide I MUST play Fall of Liberty I'll surely know that the 360 version is better!

From a technical point of view, these are just fanboy fodder.

I think it'll be another 6 - 9 months before we see more and more comparable multi-platform games. Most games take around 18 months to 2 years to complete, so it's obvious that the 360 would be the lead platform.

As devs get a PS3 g...

It's only a demo when compared to what we will finally get in GT5 whenever it launches.

Taken on it's own it's a fine and robust game, well worth the asking price for GT fans.

If people don't like this, no one is forcing them to buy it. Websites and mags should review this on it's own merits, not compared to what they think/know GT5 will offer over GT5P.

I've long argued that an Operating System should be just that. - The most basic 'layer' of the PC's software, used for little more than launching the software we want to use.

If people want to bolt on multiple widgets, gadgets and other stuff then fine. Let the users bloat the OS as much as they want. But leave the basic core of the OS fast, and simple and secure.

Personally I really don't like OSX from a user point of view. But it is an extremely fast and slick O...

This is the continuous push and shove the 'console wars'.

It wasn't so long ago that this site was awash with negative PS3 news, and PS3 fanboys were crying that the site was pro-Microsoft.

Now the tide has turned and MS are on the rough end.

It's just the way it is, and with more info available on the internet and everyone having an opinion it's easier to find 'supporting evidence' (and I use that term extremely loosely) from blogs etc to continue thi...

Well know UK 'celeb'. Best know for occassionally turning up to things (movie premiers, lads mags events, supermarket openings... that sort of thing), and being super fit.

She does have a stunning rack though. And she's a Northern Bird, so she's probably a 'go-er'.

360 extended RRoD warranty = Good thing

360 new hardware revisions are more reliable = Good thing

Unfortunately, no matter what good work MS has done to fix their problems, if the mainstream press get a whiff that a few people have had RRoD during the biggest release of '08 so far it'll be all over the news again. And that's easy pickings for Sony.

On one hand you could say it's unfair on MS, on the other you could say that MS brought this on themself. ...

Just a slight correction.. He said '3 OF the best'. not 'THE 3 best'

Personally I thought MGS on PSX it's remake on GameCube were fantastic and more fun than any of the Splinter Cell games I've played to date.

MGS2 was garbage. Mainly because of the storyline and bosses. Hated Raiden as well.

MGS3 was a nice return to form.

MGS4... We'll soon know.

Yes, I remember those days. Can't recall playing either BF:BC or CoD4 beta's at the time of the Halo 3 beta though. Or was 'waiting' for those beta's enough for you? And here I was thinking only PS3 owners were happy to wait!

@RealTimeWeaponsChange
Your amazing fanboy ability to read context in to something is working well I see. I'm not comparing a 24hour delay to this at all.

What I was referring to was the crying, screaming and foot stampi...

Amazon UK has announced pre-orders for July 31 release of PlayTV.

I thought it was going to cost 99.99, but apparently it's only 59.99

I think I might just order one at that price.

6631d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Now that is a good idea.

Unfortunately I don't think it'll happen any time soon as Sony are surely making a fat profit from each PlayTV box sold. Adding it to a PS3 may give out the wrong message at the moment (that the PS3 really is only good for watching TV/movies - although most PS3 owners know otherwise!!)

However, as the price comes down I could definitely see this feature being integrated in a future SKU.

How quickly the Xbots forget their screaming, shouting and gnashing of teeth over the Halo 3 beta delay for Crackdown owners!!

6631d ago 7 agree5 disagreeView comment

This has nothing to do with being 'perfect'. It's just the realities of life. People don't always get what they want, when they want it.

These things happen. Just as the Halo 3 beta was delayed for Crackdown owners because of some issue.

If you wasted a day trying to get an ID, then that's your prerogative. I can understand some people's disappointment - but it's not as if you've paid for anything. It's a beta test, for free, designed to find out where problems a...
