Unfortunately I agree Darkride66.

Nothing I've seen previewed on the 360 has blown me away - either in terms of graphics, story, game play, innovation, or just that Wow factor that Sony seem to be good at.

Surely if MS really did have something to compare (graphically) to KZ2, they would be shouting about it.

It will be interesting to see what E3 brings. The most impressive thing MS could do right now is actually make me interested in any of the games...

Maybe this is just me, but I always judge a console on it's exclusives first, and multiplat's second - so GT5, God of War 3, Killzone and so on and on and on make it damn appealing to me! :)

In general the difference in quality between any two multiplats is so small these days that only fanboys with magnifying glasses will notice the differences. I own a PS3 and 360, and I tend to buy multiplats on PS3 simply because it's a quieter machine and more of my friends play on PS3.

If KZ2 makes MS raise their game, then that's a great thing.

Before the launch of KZ2 I thought Gears 2 was the most spectacular looking game I had seen, but being based on the Unreal Engine I knew it was nothing that the PS3 couldn't also do.

KZ2 has raised the bar to the point where I would now be (pleastantly) surprised if the 360 can match it. But I look forward to playing the games MS are implying it has up it's sleeves.

Really!?

Awesome! How did I miss that!

That changes everything!

Thanks! :) (Can't wait to knock off work and try it out!)

Gotta agree with that.

I played the demo and wasn't a big fan of the controls - but I'm not going to complain because it was obvious this was how GG had designed the game. There's no way anyone could mistake the weight and slowness for lag.

I guess if people play a lot of Halo or CoD they may be used to the twitchy nature of them. I played a lot of CoD4 before, but I really like the more measured pace of KZ2 (although as I say in my post below, I think the cust...

The controls are not really difficult to adapt to, but they are not quite perfect.

There are three small things GG could implement to alleviate some of the whining.

1. Add an option to fully cusomize the controls.
Forcing people in to one of the pre-sets is kinda silly, and in my opinion almost EVERY game should have customisable controls.

2 WEEKS!?

My brother's PS3 failed last Thursday (day before SFIV launched - he was gutted!!), but after calling Sony after he finished work that day, he had a replacement delivered on the following Monday!

Sony's UK customer service is full of win!!

Excellent point. +bub

As these companies move further towards social networking they are going to have to deal with these issues. However I don't think allowing sexual orientation to be used in Gamertags/PSN names is every going to be useful. It's just not necessary.

Should MS have banned her is one debate, but what intruiges me is why someone has to advertise the fact they are gay on a service that (so far) doesn't have anything to do with sexual orientation.

I don't stick 'Straight gamer' on my gamertag, so why does this person feel the need to broadcast? If a person wants to get in to a lesbian or gay clan/faction/guild or whatever, there are plenty of better ways to do that (try Google!!) than sticking it on their Live account.

What this really shows is just how damn strong JRPG's still are in Japan. I can only imagine the sales figures when the next Dragon Quest drops on Nintendo!

Also interesting to see the PS3 get within 1000 units of the Wii.

We all want the fastest browsing experience - but I'm willing to trade a few fractions of a second for the add-ons FireFox provides.

In terms of making my browsing more productive (opposed to actual rendering speed per page, or Javascript performance), I think FireFox is the fastest by a long way.

That's bad news. Disappointed.

With the right marketing and hype, I could see an Aliens RPG selling Mass Effect numbers - especially as a multi-plat on 360, PS3 and PC.

I didn't see your original post, but in response to your MHz vs Mhz claim; just because the speeds of the two machine are different doesn't mean a lot in real terms in this case.

The PSP is utilising the 333MHz to run a device with a much lower res ouput - 480x272. The Wii is outputting 480p, so normally 640x480 equivalent on most TV's. You just don't need the Mhz to process for a lower resolution as there's not so much data flying around; in addition they are different archite...

Your argument is rubbish. Burnout Paradise has been out a very long time now and has been supported with a tonne of free DLC.

There's no way Criterion were already working on the Jansen 88 when Burnout shipped. It couldn't have been included as an unlockable, as it isn't part of the 'core' Burnout experience - it's an extra.

This is DLC done well... Just because you only bought the game recently doesn't mean this is one of those times when a developer has announced...

My interpretation of Flower as a work of art, is because of the whole package - not one element.

To appreciate something as art in a game goes beyond just what the graphics look like. Just because Valkyria Chronicles and Prince of Persia have been decided to follow a specific art technique does not automatically make them 'art'.

This may all be pretentious waffle, but art really is in the eye of the beholder, and goes far beyond what the game looks like. Just as a ...

Ask a painter if they are creating art, and some will answer 'Yes', but many others will say they just painting a picture, engaging in their hobby or profession.

If I look at the work of someone like Tracey Emin I do not consider it art at all, it's crap - but other people do consider it art and both opinions are justified.

It's the same with games. If someone considers something as art, then it becomes art - and it doesn't matter if that's the person who created it...

Good post Kushan.

Developers need to stop thinking in terms of shoehorning 'traditional' RTS mechanics in to a console, and instead do as Ensemble have done and build an RTS for a console from the ground up.

There's plenty of innovation to be found in the console RTS genre. Devs just need a bit of creative lateral thinking.

I haven't had chance to try the demo yet, and will reserve judgement until I do - games with Halo attached tend to get over-ra...
