For some reason my first thought was Dead Space as well.
But I don't think it will be.
We'll have to agree to disagree then! :)
If MS did NOT pay 50million for exclusivity, then chances are that the GTAIV DLC would have come to both PS3 and 360 - who wins in that case... Gamers. Plus MS would have had 50million to invest elsewhere.
I'm not saying that because I only use LIVE for XBLA and online that's all it does. But where does spending 50million on DLC enhance LIVE, change those other added features you mentioned, or change what I use it for? ...
The game is actually about nothing... There's no real objective or goals as such.
You control each end of the creature (called BOY) independently with the analogue sticks. You can stretch, and shrink, and jump, and kinda grab on to things and the ground, and eat things.
It's about experimentation and relaxing (according ot the tutorial/manual).
There is a kinda meta-goal which is that the length you stretch is added to another creature (called GIR...
To Apple the 'i' is simply a way of taking smaller companies to court!
They use an 'i' followed by a simple, everyday word, and suddenly they own that word! iLife, iScrewU, etc etc
It probably means... 'i' will take you to court for copyright infringement if you so much as think about putting an i on the front of your product.
To Nintendo it's probably a way to associate the DS with the hip Apple crowd. They just stuck it on the end to appear ed...
So...
Is this a case of the sites not writing code that adhere's to agreed W3C etc standards.
Or
MS applying the standards in the way they see fit.
I know which I would put my money on! (Hint: MS have NEVER created a standards compliant browser.) Small wonder FireFox is chewing in to IE's market share.
To me LIVE is nothing more than a service to play games online and deliver XBLA content. This DLC does nothing to change or grow either area.
I don't really care if it made good business sense to MS. I'm a gamer, and 50million spent securing exclusive DLC will ALWAYS be a waste. MS didn't pay 50million to make little billy happy with his 360 and GTAIV - MS did this to stop Sony getting content.
I don't see that helping the industry in the slightest. All it does ...
It would be interesting to compare the first 2 years of 360 vs PS3 in terms of (J)RPG's.
I have no doubt the 360 has done better, but I recall waiting a long time for a good RPG.
There are some real gems to be had on PS3 that the 360 doesn't come close to. Valkyria Chronicles and Disgaea3 don't have comparable titles on the 360 - so it's just as valid to ask where's the variety on 360?
All I'm seeing is JRPG after JRPG on 360 with little variety. ...
Maybe it was worth it to MS - they got in the news for this big 'win' and generated publicity; and I'm sure they sold 360's off the back of it. And maybe they even convinced a few multi-console owners to buy the 360 version.
But to me, I think it was a waste. 50million is a huge amount of money to pay for DLC. That money could have been used in hundreds of other (better) ways. Such as, supporting start up devs. Investing in new IP. Buying a new exclusive IP from an establis...
I'll be buying this on PS3 rather than my 360... Why? The CONTROLLER.
If you sit less than 12inches form the screen then enjoy your better 360 visuals. But that spongy unresponsive piece of rubbish the 360 calls a D-Pad is a disgrace.
So I'll take the negligible hit on visuals - and yet enjoy a MUCH better experience because of the controller.
"Microsoft...is investigating the problem, although it is understood that no general workaround exists for this problem."
Sounds simple to me... Disable the Hotmail address expiry for Gold account holders. It won't help those aleady hit by this, but it'll stop it happening in the future.
There must be thousands of people who created a Hotmail address purely because MS forced them to when setting up a Gold account. If they haven't logged in once every ...
Lol Fishy!
I love renting really awful games every now and then, just to see how bad they really are!
Lovefilm.co.uk gamer/dvd package FTW! Although you could argue we are perpetuating the development of awful games by renting these titles!
Well good for Microsoft! It's only taken them almost 4 years! /sarcasm
I'm on my third 360, and the current unit I have is an older refurb model. My warranty expires this month, so it makes zero difference to me if MS have finally fixed the issue.
If the current model fails and MS won't show goodwill, I'm not buying a replacement.
The Next Xbox better be bullet proof!
The PSP should be an awesome little console. But for some reason it's just not lived up to my expectations.
Intially everything felt like a watered down PS2 game, which was kinda to be expeted in the first year.
By now it should have carved out a fantastic niche. Delivering rich graphical content where the DS can not. Taking advantage of the increased processing capabilities and larger storage. Creating unique interactions and synergy with the PS3. But no....
Same genre...Different games.
Nothing to compare. It's like asking if CoD4 is the next Halo - pointless.
Good post... +Bubble
SHOCK NEWS.... Video game companies own IP!
@Chris399
I'm with you on this one... Play a game, finish a game, stick it on the 'done' pile, breath a sigh of satisfaction for a job well done and move on!!
There are a few exceptions. The Achievements in Crackdown kept me playing a long time after I finished the main story. And during the quiet months I like to revisit games if there's nothing new and fresh to play (just finished another play through of God of War 2!)
I'm not big on DLC in sto...
I really wanted to like Folklore, but I just couldn't get hooked for some reason.
The game had bags of potential and the setting was really unique and interesting. It's a real shame a sequel hasn't been announced. Actually, didn't the devs say there were no plans to do a sequel? :(
Out of all those games I would say Valkyria Chronicles is defiitely the one that most people missed. And WHAT a shame!
I dunno about the rest of the world, but in the UK the game was/is extremely hard to find. Definitely had a limited production run.
Other than that I think it's a pretty solid list - but Disgaea 3 would figure on it for me.
And if we were to include Playstation games as a whole, then Persona 3 and 4 seem to have been overlooked b...
Clutching at straws here....
With talk of water pressure and references to 'aqua' and opening doors could there be an announcement about WET?
Wasn't the game in limbo after being dropped by Activision - perhaps Sony have made it an exclusive.
Would be odd to advertise this in HOME though.
Also, can anyone think of an old Sony game with a charcater called Jess in it? First entry on the site Cajun Chicken posted referred to 'Jess are ...
