@ Perjoss: Do we even have mods on N4G :P
I'm getting pretty annoyed with having to avoid this site every time a major game is released.
Some idiot has to give away the ending or spoil the twists etc etc. I suppose it's no surprise, considering some of the idiots that post on this site, but the one time you expect the mods to react quickly, and where the hell are they?
For big games I always avoid the previews and hype, as I want to know as little as...
Well, for those of us that have avoided previews and hype for this game, and are waiting for the Friday release...
Thanks for the Spoiler!! Dumbass!
This is fantastic news.
It could very well mean that that FFXIII development is getting close to polishing and bug squashing. The core work must be near completion - which has allowed Nomura to move on to other things.
Do people actually read the articles or just the headline????
Why oh why oh why would Square Enix waste time, money and reosurces porting this ancient game to PS3?
Completely pointless.
SqaureEnix appear to be losing the plot...
"5. They are finalizing a deal to get Tony Hawk Ride exclusive in UK"
This has been confirmed incorrect. The PR company released incorrect info stating that Tony Hawk Ride was 360 exclusive in the UK only. The publisher issued a retraction to the story soon after.
You could possibly, at a stretch, speculate that there's no smoke without fire and perhaps the next Tony Hawk game will be exlusive... But why just the UK? What would that achieve? Tony Ha...
Well, no surprise.
Paying for a mediocre game, then paying more for booster packs is just not a good business model.
I think most companies have got this model wrong. The video game has to support the trading card game, not the other way round.
If EA had launched BioForge for free right from the start, then maybe people would have supported it by buying a few booster packs.
But this leads to another problem... Paying for virtual item...
For a while Wii Sports was the party game of choice in our house - Bowling FTW!! But since the novelty wore off and nothing came along to take it's place we've been playing a lot more Buzz on PS3.
If I just want to play a casual game with a few friends, we are far more likely to boot up LBP than anything the Wii has to offer.
The Wii is the iPod of the gaming world. People buy one even though there are better products on the market.
I'm just surprised we haven't seen a 360 biased Crackdown vs inFamous comparison yet!! :)
I have inFamous pre-ordered, but if Prototype scores well I'll probably pick it up as well. Although I just got an email that my import copy of Demon's Souls has been dispatched so I have no idea when I'm gonna get chance to play all these games!
GoTY (in my opinion)
Uncharted 2 is pretty much in my top 3 games I want on any console, maybe even number 1.
The great thing about the original is that it's such a complete package. It does have it's flaws, but the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts.
Some people talk about the graphics so much but they forget there is so much else to the game. The audio, script, story, voice acting, characters and art direction are all top notch and helped lift the game from being just a ...
Well I buy games because they are fun, not because their 'numbers destroy every other wannabe racer'.
Personally I prefer arcade style racers to sim style, because I have yet to find a sim that really reflects driving at speed.
I like the GT (and Forza) series, but I find it's poor AI, lack of damage, and lack of penalties for hitting competitors boring.
Hopefully GT5 will improve things. Damage modelling will go a long way to helping, but we've a...
Thanks for that list XDF. I'm a 360 owner who had totally lost interest in the console. That list makes me marginally more interested.
I hope most of them get a 2009 or Q1 2010 launch.
I generally class a AAA title as one the platform owner or the publisher has put their weight behind.
@I did not muder him... You are the saddest type of fanboy around. I've noticed a few of your posts recently, and they are all geared at hammering the PS3, and it's supporters, while not adding anything relevant or productive to the debate.
If you support the 360, that's fine. But at least say something interesting about it. Perhaps rather than taking a swipe a...
And why would it want to compete with it? And who says it is competing with it?
The Gran Turismo series claims to be a sim. This is obviously not.
If I were being pedantic I could point out that they mentioned 'open-world' game, not 'open-universe', but I'm not. :)
And yeah, the controls in Frontier really caused me headaches....
@micro_invader
Yeah, I've been trying to keep this game on my radar, but it just keeps slipping off! It looks good, and I like the open world idea... But I have no idea how this one will turn out!
There's so many promising racing games coming that I just don't know what I'm gonna do!!!
Split/Second. Burnout Paradise DLC. Blur. Fuel. Dirt 2. Grid 2. Forza 4. Maybe GT5 one of these days!! Codies F1 game next year. Rage (not strictly racing, but ...
The actual capacity this technology has demonstrated in the lab is:
1.6TB
With an 'optimisation' they could reach 10TB - but there is no mention of whether they have actually managed this, or if it's just theoretical.
1.6TB is definitely Impressive, but a loooong way short of 12TB!

There's a limit to how much a company can, or is willing, to lose per console.
MS can not just wave some magic wand and reduce the manufacturing costs, or make the R&D costs or licensing costs vanish.
Why should this new 12TB technology cost any less than the introduction of Blu-Ray? Sure it's speculation, but I doubt someone has stumbled upon the holy grail of optical storage... i.e. a new, massive capacity technology that costs as much as DVD.
Well, the PS3 was vilified for costing so much, and a large part of that was down to the Blu-Ray drive. Can't see this 12TB drive costing pennies!
They mention 'DVD' in the article, but is this just DVD size disc (i.e. the dimensions would be the same); or that it can be produced using DVD manufacturing processes; or that it can be read by a standard DVD laser?
I can't see that last point being true - so we can only speculate that the laser/technology will be ne...
Well, different people have different opinions. If Teletext thought it was a bad game then fair enough.
There are more than enough sites giving this game good scores that it's fairly easy to see that this score is the exception, not the rule.
Having said all that, there is obviously a deep rot at the core and every level of video game journalism.
From wannabe bloggers posing as journalists; flamebait headlines just to garner hits; backhanded marke...
