The GT series normally go with RUF, rather than Porsche.

No idea why Lambo's are not in the game - does seem strange; possibly a licensing issue?

As for other exotics, I always thought the GT series (and Forza) had most of the big names covered.

It will interesting to see the final list of cars for both games.

I think 800 cars in GT5 is overkill. You only have to look at the GT4 list to see just how many cars are a subtle variation ...

I love racing games, and have played every Forza and GT game released. I even bought the 'smoking' MS force feedback wheel to play Forza 2!

In my opinion neither franchise is a true 'sim'. Having lots of variables to tweak does not equal realism. Forza 2 was slightly floaty in it's physics, and GT4's lack of damage (or lack of punishment) meant you could do stuff like wall ride to go round some corners faster.

Until both GT5 and F3 are released I'm reserving j...

If Valve don't have the time/resources to learn the PS3's architecture that's fair enough. They can do what they want (even though I disagree with their decision).

However, there's not a programmer I know in the world that doesn't relish the chance to try something new and exciting in coding. Learning new stuff, and pushing the envelope of code is why most programmers do what they do. So to state that the PS3 is 'too complicated' is doing a disservice to the skilled people codi...

Good for you.

Enjoy reading NPD figures while the PS3 owners are playing games.

You just look like an idiot making comments like that. Owning a console is about playing games, not reading sales figures.

Kids game?

Either you have never played a Ratchet game, or are just being facetious.

Ratchet appeals on a lot of levels, and has thast important factor all good games should have... No, not sales figures. No, not meta scores. It's FUN!

MS have boiled 2009 down to the last 2-3 months of year. The first 6 have been barren for decent games. They have a fair line-up of titles for the rest of 09 - but it really bugs me that they seem to only focus on ...

Don't get excited Xabmol :) the press pack is not impressive. :D

Basically a normal plastic case instead of the European cardboard one - and one of those standard PS2 discs like the demo discs that came on the front of the official PS mag (silver top and blue print).

However it did come with a couple of freebies. One was a postcard of Yorda, but the card was wrapped in thin bubble wrap - obviously a reference to protecting her. The other was a card of press out...

@ Troll Killer

I have never heard PD being arrogant. They have always just got on with the job of trying to make the best racing sim.

I've never heard them take digs at peers. If you have a link that would be great.

Pride in their work is not the same as 'chest beating'. T10 are obviously gunning for GT, which is great if that what motivates them. But I don't like their new arrogance and I don't like the increasing arrogance MS are showing.

I think that the hatred/dislike towards Valve goes back to Gabe's comments that Sony should scrap the PS3. It shows a certain amount of disrespect towards a company that has arguably done more for gaming than Valve.

The Orange Box fiasco on PS3 also sits uneasily with PS3 owners.

Generally you don't hear the first and second party Sony devs smacktalking about the 360 in the same way that Valve has done in the past and Turn10 is now doing. It makes the developer...

As previous poster said... More an Easter egg than secret message.

Day 1 purchase for me, and I think I may be more excited by this game than Uncharted 2!!

I normally trade games, but have a press pack copy of ICO and the box sleeve Shadow of the Colossus. Owning those two games was the biggest factor for me buying a PS3 with BC!!

Slightly off topic...

But have any changes been announced to the US version of Demons Souls? For example, adding difficulty levels?

I'm currently playing the Asian import and it's awesome. But I seriously can not see this doing well in the West with out some changes. This game flies in the face of the current trend of producing unchallenging and hand holding games.

Only serious masochists are going to sit through this one!!

Yeah, another case of Microsoft making a big deal out of something the competition have had for a long time.

Off topic:

Anyone know how the battery life compares to older PSP models? And can anyone confirm that the PSP Go's battery is user replaceable?

The new PSP does look nice. I have an old PSP-1000, so if the price drops a bit I'll pick one up (would pay £179.99, but not 219.99).

On topic:
Sony reducing the price of development kits is the single best idea they have had. It didn't make sense in the past, but now we're moving to a more d...

Bungie Says: "We Make Games That We Want to Play"

Correction

"We make games Microsoft pay us to make" /jk (maybe)

Nothing wrong with making a profit, but it would be nice to see Bungie turn their hand to something new.

Myth 2 : Soulblighter is still one of favorite games - far outstripping Halo. I'd love to see them return to the series, or even make a new IP in a different genre.

I still remain to be convinced about motion controls (not just Natal, but Sony and Nintendo too). And with out games the hardware means nothing.

However there are certain advantages I see Natal having when used as complimentary technology to the existing controller.

I posted this elsewhere (and originally the info was from another N4G'er) but I think it's worth repeating as it shows a different way of thinking about Natal.

If playing a game like G...

Anyone else bored of these articles now?

We've picked over the bones of E3 and I think the one thing we can safely say is that if you think your company of choice won E3, no one is going to tell you different!

Opinion pieces like this, unless they contain some previously unknown revelation, are not news.

I'm not sure I saw Crackdown 2 or L4D2 played during the conference. Or Halo Reach for that matter.

In fact I'm not even sure in-game footage was shown for Crackdown 2 was it?

I'm going to take a big 'ol guess here that you only own a 360?

Luckily for multi-console owners it's easier to be objective. If you are interested in motion controls and Xbox Live services then MS won it. But Sony walked it with their games.

Perhaps you are...

Bit of a simplistic outlook there, Jason 360.

Not all 1080p encoding is created equal, and the same goes for audio. Throw in network conditions and error correction and it'll be interesting to see what MS have done to ensure comparable quality to Blu-Ray or other HD formats.

You only have check the various AV forums to see the heated debate between the various HD audio formats - so a blase 'it's 5.1' won't cut it with many audiophiles. Same goes for the 1080p v...

You're funny.

About 30-50% of MS' conference was spent talking about Services like streaming movies, or demoing technology that is quite a long way from launching.

As a 360 owner, my single biggest problem with MS' conference was that they didn't show enough games. Nothing was unexpected - even the MGS announcement was not a megaton (and of no interest as I also own a PS3). Sure they had stuff that looked good, but Sony had quality AND quantity across all it's ...

Yeah, Metroid and The Conduit are the ONLY reasons my Wii wasn't thrown straight in the bin after the Nintedno conference! :)

I was surprised they didn't show a Pilot Wings or Kid Icarus game to show off the Motion Plus - but then again Wii Sports is now where the money is; although the parachute demo didn't really convince me it couldn't be done with the old WiiMote.
