@evrfighter
I've been gaming for close to thirty years, from hardcore to casual and everything in between. And I can safely say that Ratchet and Clank is one of the IP's I look forward to most of all.
It may look cartoony, but it has a certain humour running through it, and the games are just great adventures.
It's no coincidence that Insomniac have been referred to as the 'Pixar of gaming', because just like Pixar, Insomniac manage to make a game that a...
Nintendo once held over 90% of the market (with the NES) - what does that tell us when compared to present times? Nothing
PlayStation has been synonymous with success in the industry for two generations. They've sold close over a quarter of a billion home consoles - what does that tell us now? Nothing
So what do PS3 vs original Xbox sales tell us? You guessed it... Nothing.
360 owners crow about sales figures, yet both Sony and MS are being crushed b...
I could not agree more. It's the reason I still own two Dreamcast's (one to play, and another for spares!)
When did enjoying gaming become all about the numbers?
Especially numbers that are like comparing apples to oranges, and have little bearing on, well, anything!
Man, I better reactivate my XBL Gold account, and create a few more PSN accounts.
If you like the game I wouldn't worry what the 'other' console is doing.
If you only own a 360 you can sleep soundly that you have a good looking game.
If you have a PS3 you can rest easy knowing that you have a good looking game.
If you are not planning on buying this game at all, then feel free to pick over the minute difference of a game you will never play!
<Goes back to playing Demons Souls>
Sony are doing what they have always done, and Kaz has just reconfirmed this.
Sony have never looked to pidgeon hole 'casual', 'hardcore' etc in the same defined ways that MS and Nintendo have.
They let the games do the talking - Singstar was a phenomenon in the casual space long before Nintendo came along with the Wii - and yet we rarely heard Sony talk about the 'Casual' market. Same with Buzz.
I don't have a problem with Nintendo making huge ga...
I would imagine, since it's Thursday today - and the EU PSN sotre is updated today we are probably getting it here.
I downloaded this off the US store, and it appears better than the first. They have taken on board some of the criticisms of the first game and improved them. Definitely still has the warped humour of the first game.
Camera works better, and IT HAS A MINI-MAP!!! :)
It raises an interesting point in the industry about 'what's the tipping point between content that is classed DLC, and so much content that it justifies a new version'.
On the face of it L4D2 isn't going to do anything radically new to justify a whole new version. But I may be wrong. So why isn't this DLC or an expansion rather than a full price new game.
There are similarities in other parts of the industry too.
For example, the numerous iterat...
For certain games they will need to nail the lag down.
Lag is hated in online games and can ruin an experience. Any sort of input lag on Natal is going to be problematic in many games.
Still, MS have a long time to refine it, although I suspect they will never get it 100% lag free it'll at least be diminished to an acceptible level.
I've never played a driving game using the Wiimote that felt right. Not enough feedback. Even a pad is only borderline acceptible.
Personally what I would like to see is the following set up (for something like Forza).
The traditional force feedback wheel/pedal combo, but used in conjunction with Natal for other features... For example, head tracking so I can spot the corner apexes better. Possibly gesture recognition, for signalling to come in to the pits rat...
Jeez Troll Killer, you're willing to make fun of someone's disabilities to defend your product of choice. That's sad.
Why would you need multiple accounts on this site? Is it because the nasty PS3 fans keep stealing your bubbles?
Motion controls are not the future for some people, and I'd be surprised if many people on N4G are going to play future iterations of Burnout etc with Natal (or PS3 Motion Controls) rather than a wheel or pad.
Motion con...
@Seraphemz
Yes, I know what a bribe is. I suggest you go an look up the definitions of 'bribe' and 'incentive' before making yourself look stupid.
I used the words 'contentious', and 'suspect' in my post - which, just in case you need definitions of those too - mean that I don't necessarily see T10's behavior in a positive light.
But I also don't see the point of people getting their underwear all knotted up over a meaningless poll, on a US-centric webs...
Well, what happens is, Forza 3 works perfectly with the Natal controller
So when you come in to the pits, your buddy who has been sitting on the sofa has to jump up, change your virtual tires, and swap discs while he is up!!

@SupaPlaya
It's not a bribe, it's an incentive. There's a difference.
Also, as I said before, has anyone worked out how much these 'bribes' attributed to the final tally?
Considering the website that ran the poll, and main audience of Cnet - I don't thnik there was going to be any other result.
The internet has spoken.. so it must be true!! I know where my money is going!
/sarcasm (just in case people didn't realise!)
Forget the fact that neither game has been released.
Despite the obvious slightly suspect and contentious nature of this poll, I can't understand why people are getting so angry over it. Big deal, Turn 10 offered and incentive to get people voting...
I don't suppose anyone has done the math, and worked out if...
Yep, posting from work! :)
Keep away from that can of worms Morituri!! 360 fans don't like it when you question the definition of 'exclusive'. :)
I don't agree with everything you said, but I certainly do agree that some of the more stock vehicles in racing games are more fun to drive.
There will always be a thrill of hitting 200mph or whatever in a racing machine, but for precision and fun driving the stock stuff is hard to beat.
Anyone who has spent time mastering the stock vehicles, will certainly be a better driver when they move up to the full bloodied racers.
There's two sides to this...
For those that don't have or want to use a credit card, buying Points cards is a fantastic idea - but there's no real reason to use 'Points' as such - why not a real value.
For those paying online they should be able to either pay 'real' money, or buy the exact number of points to cover the cost of the item.
I purchase online, so I HATE having to buy bigger blocks of points than I want. It feels like MS are profiting a...
Heh, T10 takes swipes at Polyphony, and now EA start on T10...
This years racing game launches are turning in to a b!tch fight.
