Really? Fair enough.
I thought this year was waaay better than 09. That was terrible.
I really liked what Nintendo showed. Sony were solid. Only disappointment was MS still think it's 2007 - which would be no bad thing except gaming has moved on.
Yeah, I liked the whole tone of the Sony E3 event. It had a few in-jokes, and Kevin Butler himself
Nintendo just threw their hat in to the ring for winner of E3.
After the awful 09 showing I was expecting nothing, and they delivered mostly hardcore demo's of soon to be released games.
Even the 3DS looked cool.
Certainly put MS to utter shame.
Can't wait for Sony now. But they need something special to beat Nintendo.
For what it's worth (not a lot), my take on MS' E3....
It was a real shame the Italian advert for the redesigned 360 spoiled the surprise. But it's an even bigger shame that the biggest cheer went to MS buying off the attendees at the end.
I was concerned when the event opened with a multiplat game, and when Fable 3 and Gears 3 were shown so early I got more concerned (although both look like big jumps from their predecessors - and good fun).
I thought it was a pretty good name. Kinect...
Brings together Connect (which I assume is in reference to Xbox Live and social gaming) and Kinetic (which refers to the movement of the player).
Definitely sounded better than when I first heard the name Wii! But that turned out pretty well!!
It's pretty disappointing that the most exciting thing people can say about Kinetic is that it can be used to navigate the dashboard!
Not sure I want to pay $/£100+ for something like that.
It seems to me that people were disappointed with the Kinetic event because MS faked the performance. MS got a free pass with the Milo thing last year - but it seems the press are less forgiving this year.
I have no doubt that the proper Kinetic ...
Space Poncho's FTW!

And I suspect the US gaming press will STILL declare Kinect the most amazing thing ever, and that MS won E3'10 on Day 1!
Glad IGN AU tell it like they saw it!
Looks like all those raves I went to in the 90's has prepared me well for Natal!
I think this is possible if MS confirms Natal bundled with a new design 360.
Just finished the first few levels. Great game.
3D crud that nobody wants? Lol.
Is that like the motion control crud that nobody wanted when it was a gimmick on the Wii??
Fanboys are so funny.
And when MS announce 3D on the 360 or next Xbox I assume it'll still be crud that nobody wants??
I thought Motorstorm 1 was OK-ish, but not good enough to make me want to buy #2. But this looks pretty good - will definitely be keeping an eye on it.
2010 seems to be the year of the racing game launches and announcements! Hope Criterion's NFS game lives up to my expectations!
GOTY??? :)
As a gamer I find his spin pointless and frustrating.
The guy is in PR, and yet he's only ever pandering to the existing customers.
It's pretty sad that the mouthpiece for Xbox can only ever talk spin - some harmless smack talk is fine, and funny, but when that's all that is said day after day it gets tedious.
He needs to slot in some actual interesting news that non-fanboys would find interesting.
His latest sp...
It's probably jealousy.
Looking at the comments some people make on this site I'm sure they'd love to get paid to be a troll!! :)
It doesn't seem like a lot of effort to patch games for 3D, or create games with 3D in mind. So why not have it now?
Sony used PS3 early adopters to drive down the price of Blu-Ray and pay for the R&D of the Cell and blue-laser tech. Why wouldn't they do the same for 3D! It makes sense!
Then you're missing out on a real gem of a game.
The art style is great and designed by one of the most talented comic book artists around. The voice acting some of the best I've ever heard in a game. A nice story which could easily be expanded in to many sequels. It's way better than recent Zelda games. And most importantly it's helluva lot of fun!
It's a real shame that games which slip under the radar, or are not hyped as AAA get imme...
Awesome game. Possibly the best in the series.
Hopefully the next Burnout game (or maybe Criterion's NFS title) will move back to this format - as although I liked the open world nature of Paradise I still miss the old style)
Yeah, I think it probably is bigger.
SquareEnix had never openly criticised the 360 before moving Final Fantasy on to it, and had already published on the 360.
Whereas Valve is a traditional PC dev, with some ex-MS ties, and never published on the PS3 before (EA did the Orange Box) and had been openly hostile towards the PS3.
Then to come out and say the PS3 version of Portal 2 will be the best console version is pretty huge.
