I'm British, and I wouldn't necessarily say that Brits make the best games.
But I am proud of the fact that our little nation can stand shoulder to shoulder with bigger, more well funded and government supported nations and create world class games.
I would say that British devs make some of the most creative and innovative games in the world.
Nah, doesn't matter to me much, I'm sure there are those with the eyesight to differentiate between 720 and 1080, but on the TV I have it makes no difference.
I'd rather have rock steady frame rate at 720p than choppy frame rate at 1080
It's unbelievable what a sensitive industry this is... both from a consumer (fanboy) view and developers and even publishers.
Maybe Rein did speak out of turn, but he's been in the industry for a long time, and that's worth listening to whether you agree or not. Having read the blog post, the apology and the news reports it seems that he was genuine in his comments during the panel talk.
Agreed. Awful radio. Totally ruins the immersion. At least they could get a decent voice actor, and add a bit of interference/muffling as if listening to it wearing a crash helmet, rather than making it sound crystal clear.
Yeah, agreed FragGen. I feel the same way.
I got my 360 on Day 1, even before I had an HD TV. It was an awesome console, but after 2007 it's just become less and less relevant, to the point where I still own a 360, but haven't used it since early 2009!!
The only game left on 360 that I really want to play is Gears 3 - all the rest are either overhyped (Halo), or available elsewhere (Fable 3).
Games that looked interesting, and possi...
I was thinking exactly the same thing!
Does the game now have built in auto-pilot? Is pressing start and choosing New Game the the only player interaction required!?! /s
Fable 2 was laughably easy; especially the combat!
Hope they haven't changed too much.
I liked the feeling of weight, and the lack of auto-aim.
Hope they've sorted the cover system tho. Was not keen on that.
The first few games were fantastic. Hopefully this new one will be good.
The days of simultaneous console releases is pretty much over... so the days of comparing sales is even more pointless.
I subscribed to Edge for years and years. But in the last 2 years they just became a bunch of pretentious idiots, so I cancelled.
I'm not accusing them of bias, purely that they are so far up their own backsides they can't see daylight.
Except for FFXII (and XI obviously), I have completed all the main FF series...
But, I'm only part was through FFXIII and contemplating not bothering to finish it. Just so boring and I have other games to play.
If a game is gripping, or has fun achievements/trophies - then I'll play to 100% if I can.
Yep you're right Substance... But does it have Uncharted, God of War and all those other great console exclusives?
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of PC gaming, but the bleating of PC fanboys just comes across as insecurity and trying to justify their purchases.
And just because PC's can do higher res, doesn't mean it has better looking games. Yes yes, we ALL know about Crysis - we've been hearing about it long enough - but there&...
The difference here, I believe, is that emulators are just taking the original (low res) assets and blowing them up to HD res or beyond.
Whereas the remakes Sony are putting out include improved texture work.
Whine whine whine.
I bought a 60GB PS3 because it had BC - and I soon realised I almost never used it. Then I saw the GoW collection in action, and all I can say is... Sony, keep commissioning those HD remakes, and forget BC!!!
Sega had some awesome advertising back then. Shame it didn't really do them any good.
Hmmm, I liked Fable, but it felt like 50% of the game was tutorial. By the time the meat of the game kicked in it was all over.
Fable 2 promised more, but in the end it was just Fable 1.5 - it didn't evolve in the right way. Instead of improving the solid aspects of the series it just added more fart jokes, a very poor marriage/mistress mechanic, and horrible mini-games.
The core premise of Fable is solid, and fun. But it's not AAA. It's med...
I played the beta, and I felt the same issues as Eurogamer. The fundamental problem with the game is that the key game play mechanics are poor (driving / shooting).
Fable is a series that hasn't quite lived up to it's promise.
The ambition of the devs is to be respected, but I think the games just try and do too may things; and that ambition far outstrips the talent of Lionhead.
Fable 2 was OK, but a bit of a bug-fest; it was average and a fun distraction but not worth the hype. I really hope Fable 3 delivers.
Is that a genuine response??
Cus they way I read that was...
'Deal with it suckers, not out fault - we make perfect products you are barely worthy to own.
We're going to release an update that just recategorises signal strength so it's your fault for the way you hold the phone, and your network provider for their crappy signal.
Furthermore you should consider yourself lucky that we are going to provide a FREE u...
Console exclusive is a pretty stupid term, as it holds no weight.
If I can play a game on multiple platforms then it's not exclusive. There is no argument.
My other fave term is Microsoft exclusive - a game only seen on Xbox and PC. What a joke; it just smacks of insecurity or marketing BS.
It's unbelievable that people need to attribute irrelevant tags to things to justify their purchase, allegiance or point of view.
