I don't understand the rationale behind this move from Nintendo.

A barely supported console gets a barely smaller revamp.

There's already enough confusion among the masses about what the difference between Wii and WiiU is - and so they throw in the Wii Mini for good measure!

Bravo Nintendo.

Yeah, if it was Torchlight 2 then I'd be excited.

It's a damn shame that Diablo 3 becomes a record breaking PC launch, and yet better games sell a few thousand and struggle to break even.

It's a good question (well, two questions). I found it funny that after a break from N4G for a while I come back and suddenly there's PC fanboys here giving Sony fanboys a hard time!

I dunno why anyone argues over this stuff. We're all here to play games and the platform shouldn't matter.

Consoles are only inferior to a PC that is superior! There's plenty of people gaming on low end PC's (look at the Steam stats for confirmation). ...

Damn! Now that's all I see when I look at the logo :)

Diablo 3 is not exactly a taxing game when it comes to graphics - the PS3 will cope just fine.

I ditched the PC version due to the game being a POS compared to D2, but I'd give the PS3 version a rental as they are dropping the auction house / real money transactions, and to see how they port the control system away from the excellent mouse/keyboard.

Blizzard are rapidly moving from a 'Day 1 purchase, no questions asked' developer, to a 'Wait and see if it's any good and probably not bother' developer.

WoW... Got boring years ago
Starcraft 2 - Pre-ordered... Ok, but ultimately disappointing
Diablo 3 - Pre-ordered... Mediocre and frustrating game
Starcraft 2 expansion... Pass
Hearthstone... Pass
Titan... Expectations reduced massively

What I think is the much more important issue here is how the customer, who is deaf, was treated by the online support person. 'Find someone to call on your behalf' is not acceptable. A good CSR would have found a way to help this customer over chat.

I agree that the load out system is overly complicated, and the methods for comparing weapons / equipment is somewhere between horrible and non-existent (unless I am missing something!)

Overall, once in a match the game is very good. Game play reminds mostly of Halo, with a tiny dash of Killzone, and a little Starhawk. I like it.

I keep thinking that sooner or later CCP are going to say that the game is also being developed for PS4 in parallel. I can't...

Considering MS paid through the nose for Nvidia GPU's in the original XBox... And I'm sure Sony paid a handsome price for Nvidia chips in the PS3 (due to the late decision to incorporate a GPU instead of just using the Cell for CPUGPU)...

It's no surprise that Nvidia have been told to stick it!! Sounds like sour grapes to me - they couldn't compete on price, so now they complain about it and imply AMD are bending over for Sony.

AMD have made...

I remember, many years back when Electronic Arts was a benevolent and grand company. Pushing the boundaries on consoles like the Megadrive.

At some point the rot set in, and corporate greed took over.

With the release of Dead Space I thought they had turned a corner. They appeared humbled, and had acknowledged the annual grind of their IP was wrong. And I even recall some statement about 'for every X established IP releases we will launch Y new IP'...

It's becoming clear that the early PS4 announcement was a great strategic move by Sony.

I'd imagine the people ordering from GAME this early are those who enjoy the midnight launches... Fair play to them, but not for me (I went to a midnight launch once... never again)

If I pre-order it'll be from Shopto, they give great service.

I'll probably pre-order after E3, once release date, price and more info is known.

I just hope they've improved the R2 / L2 triggers. I hated those on the DS3 for some games. Other than that I think the DS3 was great, and DS4 looks like a great evolution.

I agree it is likely the technology will be in the console.

The PS3 had this ability built in, I believe it's part of the Blu-Ray standard. they just chose not to activate it.

It's clear the publishers would like to see the used market crushed - but I think it helps more than hinders. They are using heavy handed tactics - with Season passes etc.

I can imagine EA, Activision etc can not wait for 100% digital distribution.

I've still not bought in to the Vita, as I'm waiting for more games that interest me - but it was obvious from early on that the Vita was developed to co-exist with the PS4 more than the PS3.

I hope the device gathers some more momentum, as I want to buy one - but won't until I see more value.

One of the biggest reasons I lost interest in my 360 was because MS were not investing in the types of games I wanted to play (post 2009). Buying exclusive DLC or timed releases, and creating TV adverts that make it appear the game is completely exclusive to MS is a strategy I can not get behind. - I want new IP and to see investment in areas I care about.

Note: I know I'm making a huge speculative leap here, but I feel pretty burned by MS' overall strategy for Xbox....

I think of the life cycle of a console as being chapters in a book. You have the Intro, chapter 1 and so on.

Sony announcing this now gets the intro out the way - they've effectively freed up two+ hours of E3 time to tell us whats in chapter 1 - which should have a lot more meat to it. Unless MS announce the next Xbox soon they will need to 'lose' at E3 at least 2 hours doing what Sony have already done.

The only misstep Sony could make is if they...

These guys talk about graphics a LOT... it's almost as if they forget they need to make a decent game to go with the visuals.

If ever a company was living off past glories, it's Crytek.

Interesting that a lot of people seem to like the cockpit view, I've never been able to get used to it. The nearest I got was in GT5 as there were different positions for the camera, and that seemed to give a bigger view out the windows.

Bonnet cam tends to work best for me when I'm after good times with my Logitech wheel.

Fingers crossed Codemasters add it in for Grid 2 for those who want it.
