where did this RDR exclusivity rumor even come from? I don't think it would amount to anything beyond maybe exclusive dlc, but it seems like it's a lock for a Sony partnership & an announcement at the PS Meeting. Colin Moriarty was on record as not believing the rumor about Sony's final showing at E3 being RDR before it was pulled, but in the most recent episode he said that he actually had that confirmed by true inside sources that have literally never been wrong. So it's...

I don't see it. If Neo comes in at roughly the same cost as the XBO S then the S is done before it even started. The short run that MS put out for the S was obviously done in order to spin the "sell out" angle, but they may wish they had went ahead & sold as many units as possible before Sony responded w/ their own hardware. There's also a possibility of a PS4 S type of box, we aren't privy to what they will be announcing at the Meeting yet.

Long s...

I personally wonder how much is down to new devs & how much is down to plain old franchise fatigue. 343 obviously seemed to have their issues stepping into the shoes of a dev as talented as Bungie but maybe The Coalition fares better. I personally think MS should've let the Gears IP go & instead have The Coalition follow through w/ their idea for Shangheist. Keeping franchises going for multiple generations is always going to lead to stagnation because you are shackled to the mech...

Yeah, at least for the US sales I'd have to assume that UK tracks the closest w/ US in terms of tastes. I'd assume most anything that does well in the UK will in turn do well in the US.

Glad this one paid off for Hello Games, seems like those guys are some of the few that really deserve the success. I always had a blast w/ the Joe Danger games & I'm looking forward to trying this one out sometime soon.

Yeah, there will eventually be diminishing returns really because the jump from XBO & PS4 to Neo will be a bigger one than from Neo to Scorpio theoretically so Sony getting the Neo out a year early should put this one in the bag for them yet again. History typically shows the first to market ends up the leader when it comes to consoles & I don't expect anything different here in terms of these upgrades.

Also there is obviously a reason why Sony isn't releasi...

I'd personally love it if they found a way to also include the upgrade in a breakout type box like what comes w/ PSVR so that existing users have the option of just paying a couple hundred bucks to upgrade their traditional PS4. Not sure if that'd be possible or not, but that'd be a game changer in my eyes. Allow us the option to incrementally expand as opposed to going out & buying an entire new system. That'll be the key for me personally. I'm in no rush to upgrade m...

Is that something that you'd dig? That sounds like 'Maintenance Man Sim 2000' haha....the manual fixing part sounds cool but I'm not sure I'd want to deal w/ toothbrush polishing cannons or swabbing the poop decks unless it was some kind of punishment you can hoist on your friend for sucking at the game.

I'm sure there will be a lot of cool customization options though, this game sounds really cool if they don't spread their focus too wide. I thi...

"Sony has been coy regarding their new console, and they have chosen to potentially announce the PS4 Neo at a lower profile venue than E3 this fall, which makes no sense when you would think that Sony would want to make the biggest splash possible to continue their momentum."

'Lower profile'? Not sure about that. Another announcement at a trade show full of them is exactly that, another announcement at a trade show full of them. An entire event opened to t...

"Don't know what Microsoft was thinking shipping such low stock."

Greenberg was obviously thinking "Gee, I sure would love to post to twitter that the Xbox One S sold out...."

It's kinda been as plain as day that the plan from the beginning was to do short runs on these things to create an artificial "demand" shortage, hence the reason why MS said they weren't worried when announcing the S & Scorpio at the sam...

So The Know were "in on" their own take down violation? That makes no sense. Move on crap, there's no "media bias conspiracy" no matter how hard you & your people try to believe it. Saw just as many articles saying "You're Not Crazy If You Actually Love Quantum Break", that's what happens when there's a gap existing between critical scores & a swath of user experiences. People can still enjoy something while being aware of its faults. Woul...

I'm not up to date on the details of this particular story, but I do see that The Know is pretty firmly in MS' corner for the most part. Rooster Teeth started w/ Red vs. Blue, so they've got a pretty clear allegiance w/ MS.

It's most evident in situations like these, The Know will report on most news from Sony or MS, but w/ every potentially negative piece of MS news they will receive the benefit of a doubt & the writing typically plays devil's advoc...

What "crap" did they pull? It was Paul Feig's movie & the casting was ultimately up to him. Sony just backed a creator's vision that happened to be a failure. At least they were willing to take the risk. We also have Sony to thank for all of the great Bond films & shows like Breaking Bad & Community. So no, not a "shitty company".

Nice stretch there, game literally just released. A game like this is in the vein of Minecraft & they tend to have legs when done properly. I don't necessarily see NMS ever putting up Minecraft numbers but it'll most likely follow that growth pattern.

To be fair, what he said may have been a broad generalization and obviously not the case in every instance, but it isn't necessarily wholly untrue. Speaking solely about the N4G community, it's pretty evident that some of the most vocal detractors for NMS also seem to be the biggest proponents of the Xbox brand. There are legitimate criticisms about any game or product, but along w/ those you will obviously still have people w/ their own agendas.

It goes both ways t...

Don't think he was talking about soul & passion put in by devs, he seemed to be speaking to the difference between a quality campaign & a quality mp. A quality campaign features some kind of interesting narrative hook, multiple interlocking gameplay systems & quality performance from the voice actors, all combining to create a memorable cohesive experience. Quality mp is all about competition, you still have some gameplay variation, little to no narrative, and any memories mad...

That may be a safe bet...last year Sony spread itself a bit too thin, they had great announcements at every show, but if they had cut out PGW & instead moved those pieces over to PSX they would've dodged some of the disappointed fans expecting something like the year before in terms of reveals. E3 is for your summer bombshell announcements, TGS for the Eastern leaning fare, & PSX for the big holiday blowouts. That's a pace I believe Sony would have no problem keeping up for su...

hahaha...times like these I wish we still had a bubble system, +1 for funny.

QB on Mac would be great....next step QB on the iPad. I'm just glad that at some point in the future I'll be able to play some more Remedy games, and hopefully they have more freedom to really cut loose & do some more unique great games.

Yeah I think that speculation may be spot on really. Like Andrew pointed out down there, Sony certainly doesn't have a history of abandoning games...they waited 10 years for Team Ico to finish TLG, so if there was even a kernel of hope in there, I'm sure Sony would've clung to it.

There are also claims of nepotism, where the director brought on his wife who had no real qualification for her position...sounds like they were purposefully trying to squeeze as much ...

Can we call this one a multiplat now? First it was "Only on Xbox One", then it was "MS Exclusive", now it is "Console Exclusive"...at this rate I expect to play QB on my PS4 next year.

Either way, it's a good move all around, hopefully Remedy sees some kind of kickback if the game does well on Steam. Just sad that it's message was so muddied by its release & I assume MS are the ones that pushed the TV portion on the game at the outs...

Once upon a time Xbox released a weaker console a year early & they seemed to do pretty well. Xbox heads will obviously go Scorpio, but those guys wouldn't have picked up a Neo either way. The general public may see the improvements on Neo & go that route, cannibalizing Scorpio's sales.

Ultimately all that matters is the games these systems play. I don't need the highest horsepower, just the highest number of games I dig.
