I'm not much of an mp guy but I'm banking on Visceral delivering the best single player experience for a Battlefield title yet…early looks sure seem like it'll be happening to me.
What would you consider to be "next gen"? If you are talking about innovation, the lions share of that is being done on the indie space...AAAs are still beholden to the popular conventions, and there's nothing wrong with that. Solid gameplay is solid gameplay, you don't have to expect every game to reinvent the wheel, and I'd venture to guess that some of your favorite games & franchises are ones that stick with these same conventions. The concepts behind the weapons...
Won't matter a bit after the Uncharted 4 gameplay they just showed off...the Tomb Raider killer is about to snuff the reboot baby in its crib....no chance of Rise even coming close to what UC4 will offer
It definitely had an oculus logo, you would think Morpheus would be a good possibility. This kind of thing would be perfect for VR.
I understand that concern but I doubt it'll be like Ryse for a couple of reasons…firstly that the game has been in development longer & wasn't pushed out, allowed time for a delay that will polish it even further. Most importantly though is the fact that there is no online component, so all development was pushed towards the single player campaign, which seems to point towards it being a lengthy & worthwhile one. I can forgive generic gameplay if the story & environments a...
I hadn't heard about a 3rd person 3rd party game..was this rumored or confirmed? I hope it's more of an Action Adventure type than an RPG…I dig story driven, linear type games. Open worlds rarely compel me enough w/ the story even if the world is great & RPGs in general overload me. I personally would love more franchises in the vein of Uncharted. I wish someone would release a game like that w/ even less emphasis on gunplay & more emphasis on world hopping & treasure hunt...
….and here it is! Your very own copy of Limbo! Not Enough?? Here's Worms Battleground!!!….still not enough?? Well how about a megaton???? Halo!! (spartan ops.)
Regarding your other comment about Tomb Raider's exclusivity being one year, has that been confirmed anywhere? I thought that was pure speculation? There hasn't been any official timeline released as to when Rise will hit the PS4…I personally could care less about Street Fighter, it'd be a fun game to play for a bit, but I actually dug the Tomb Raider franchise a lot…if companies have to resort to these kinds of things, why can't they stick to what their market dictates? MS ha...
@xander
Quantum Break has been announced as a fall 2015 release, and that's assuming there are no delays. Ori will hit & maybe Fable Legends but that's hardly competition stacked against one new AAA ip from a proven studio & another new AAA ip from the creator of Dark Souls. Ori is an indie style shorter release & Fable is definitely an acquired taste...Sony will most likely have plenty of indies dropping on their system before E3 that would be direct com...
No, they have one in January but apparently it'll be Windows & service focused. I doubt the Xbox will be touched upon much there, they would've announced as much to build hype. If Xbox announces any new games it'll most likely be done on a piecemeal basis until E3...I'd say with the news that MS has nothing to show at the VGAs, it seems like MS have blown their exclusive load until E3 rolls around and they showcase Halo 5 & potentially some cgi trailer for Gears
Same here, it's by far the only EA title that I'd actively love to be announced. I'm really hoping they don't abandon the franchise. Is Visceral a one team studio? If so I'm hoping they move to Dead Space after Hardline, no other team should touch that franchise.
Agent or some kind of analogue has to be a given at this point. I know a lot of people think Rockstar won't release a Sony exclusive ever again & that Agent is totally dead, but wasn't this a business deal? I don't remember the specifics (can anyone enlighten me?) but a Sony exclusive Rockstar game has to happen to fulfill that deal. The early rumors about a third party exclusive that will make gamers " rage" made me think of the Rage engine, so I'm guessing that...
The only way that would be a worthwhile announcement for me is if they announce that Titanfall will have a brand new, true solo campaign on the ps4....or maybe they get around Titanfalls exclusivity by having it solely be a singleplayer game. Don't see any of that happening but I've never been a mp type of person, I'd like to see what a new studio like Respawn can do in the way of telling me a compelling story.
I was always more of a Gex man myself...now THERE's a platformer I would flip about...love to play as that lil dude again.
Hopefully we get that Uncharted trilogy...Neil said recently that they aren't really a 2 team studio at the moment, more of a 1.5 team studio, so I'd say most of them are working on UC4 w/ maybe a skeleton crew remastering the Collection hopefully.
Don't pay any attention to those other posters saying that 1 & 3 aren't worth playing…both of those games might not necessarily be the best in the series, but they are still head & shoulders above 99% of the games that were released in the last gen, and they have the scores to back that up. I just wish I could play them for the first time all over again in order, you will have some great gaming ahead of you if/when they release the collection. I'm hoping it'll be relea...
It's laughable that someone took the time to actually create those images, and doubly laughable that people like you that obviously haven't played the game post them as factual. There has never been a downgrade in a ND game, even TLOU running on a pc build at the first reveal was pretty much exactly what was released. Hopefully that trend continues, although I don't see any reason why it wouldn't as ND have the capability and talent to actually hit those marks, and the ethics ...
Yup, I think you all hit the nail on the head, it looks like a VR title anyway with that minimal HUD and the way it plays out. Looks to be some sort of exploratory type program, maybe it's more of a technical showcase than a game in the traditional sense with any kind of fail state
If it wasn't a game, why would it have "Sony Computer Entertainment Presents" at the beginning? Regardless of what it is, it's definitely considered a game for classification purposes, I think people are taking the No Game thing too literally
Can't forget that Last of Us style gunplay! It was great seeing that little star for every headshot during the demo. Some of the stealth movement definitely had shades of TLOU as well.
