A DDoS attack wouldn't allow for hacking, unless the culprits were able to do so while DDoS'ing, in which case, I will be highly pissed. They claim this is all about sticking it to Sony & MS and making them beef up security for their consumer's benefit, but if they turn around and do exactly that, the only people they are hurting are the ones they are pretending to protect. It's one thing to knock down an online service, its something much worse to put up people's info...

Anyone more worried about criticizing other peoples interests must already be disappointed with whatever they have to look forward to. So many people regurgitate the same criticisms these days w/ absolutely no true reason to back it up....an upcoming game is Shrodinger's Cat, it's neither alive or dead, good or bad until you open the box. The Order looks great to me, as a singleplayer story driven type of gamer, that game is right up my alley & I won't be ashamed to admit that...

Yup....glad that "digital future" idea got rightly knocked down by gamers....I'd like to get on to redeem Injustice before it's taken off but at least w/ the consoles as they are now I can still play singleplayer games

I wonder how Rise will stack up for the holidays? It's a game that based off of its status as timed exclusive, absolutely won't be delayed regardless of the progress made. MS spent a lot of money to have that title as a heavy hitter for the holidays, and it won't get the benefit of the short delay that the first title had because that would make it lose sales impact. It's a short turnaround for a cross gen game if it's meant to be anywhere near what the last game was, jus...

I think a stable framerate is more important than a targeting a high one then ending up w/ peaks & valleys. Games can be tailored to whatever framerate they aspire to, and as long as that framerate is solid & stable then the game will play well. I personally don't subscribe to the 60 fps being the gold standard. It's fine if your game runs at 30, as long as it never dips or spikes. Resolution is also important…anyone who says otherwise can just grab a vhs copy of their favorit...

Totally agreed…also if you listen to his lines in the trailer, their voices are very similar which really drives that brothers aspect home. Seems like Troy is actively trying to Nolan-ize his voice & its working well. The brothers aspect hits home for me in a lot of ways & that little wrinkle has me more excited than anything…I feel like this installment of Uncharted could end up the best yet, and that's saying a lot after losing Hennig…I was really worried that this game could en...

Yup, I agree w/ all of that. It could easily be the YOTG based solely upon what we know right now. I've had a theory that really hasn't proven wrong yet, wherein the best years for all media across the board, be it games, movies, music, or tv, the odd years are always the best. Not sure why this is, but if you look back on what were considered the best years for gaming out of the past decade or so, the odds always have it. The even years tend to have a lot of projects w/ massive hype,...

I feel that way about the mp component, but I feel like Visceral are capable of making the best single player campaign that Battlefield or CoD have ever seen if Dead Space is anything to go by. Hopefully EA doesn't have them gimp it in favor of adding more to the mp.

The indie & financial distress part isn't what's offensive about your comment, it's the fact that you call indie gaming a "cheap alternative". I've had more memorable times w/ indies than AAA gaming over the last generation & the current one…they are just more innovative, more heartfelt, and more creative. I'd rather watch a legitimately good lower budget indie flick than a popcorn summer blockbuster any day of the week. Gaming needs to be about art just ...

If they are handing out console exclusives, I think a 3rd person action adventure game would fit Sony's portfolio just like Titanfall fit Microsoft's. I'm a single player kind of gamer so Titanfall never interested me in the least, but anything w/ Action/Adventure, 3rd person & Stig involved definitely would have my curiosity piqued.

I'd love to see what they could do w/ a more linear narrative driven game. Grabbing all of those Santa Monica folks should help w/ that. We've seen their mp & we've seen them do the quick spectacle of an fps campaign on cod but we've never seen them tell a proper story that doesn't fall back on mp. It's fine for them to make a sequel to Titanfall for the mp fans, but I won't personally consider them on my radar until they've made a game w/o it.

It's definitely a meaningful rivalry, but I'd say Vegas odds would be placed firmly in Drake's favor once you've taken into account the whole cross-generation thing & review history. TR could definitely beat it in sales because it'll be available to somewhere around 75% more gamers, but quality I'd say Uncharted has in the bag.

The biggest mistake that Titanfall devs made was claiming that there would be a "robust & worthwhile" single player campaign. That's a promise that pretty much everyone could agree wasn't delivered on. Regardless of how good the MP was, I'm sure there were a fair few gamers that bought the game assuming that there would be something in the way of a campaign but instead they got some bad dialogue & some loosely strung together events. Respawn really shouldn't ...

Seems like Techland are barely above armchair developers themselves. The first Dead Island was more broken than Unity. You literally couldn't advance the story past like 3/4 of the way thru in single player on release due to a game breaking bug, the kind that should've been spotted in an instant if there was any QA at all. I personally haven't supported Techland or Deep Silver since then.

Yeah I get that, but more often than not open world games can have the bare bones of a good story, but the menial missions & padding create large monotonous sections. Even the best of open world games tend to fall victim to this. It's true that a bad story in a more linear game can ruin it completely, whereas an open world game will have a couple things to fall back on, but I just haven't played many open world games that have even come close to telling s...

I'm sure there are plenty of announcements ahead, but will any of these be for 2015 games? Notice Spencer himself doesn't even confirm any surprises but merely alludes to them & Greenberg is a proven douche so it's hard to take that guy's word in my opinion. Forza & MCC are pretty different types of games, the Forza devs have it down to a science and can crank them out pretty quickly because it's not too labor intensive to make a solid racing game. Same for 343 rem...

Seems like it to me. I personally like story-driven games, and open world games are rarely conducive to good consistent story telling. All of the weak side missions & repetitive story missions that are a byproduct of open world games really drag down the potential to tell a good story in my opinion. Even Rockstar rarely are able to tell a fully engrossing story, and they are the kings of open world. Open Worlds can be great but every game shouldn't be forced into the genre.

I hadn't heard of any rail shooting sections in previews or seen any in gameplay, are you using it as a euphemism? T2 was great fun on the arcade machine back in the day but for some reason I highly doubt The Order will involve no spatial input from the player at any point during its playtime. I'm personally excited for the game. Seems to me this criticism about generic cover shooting mechanics should be launched at the genre as a whole yet instead its being lobbed at this game in par...

Same here, Sony's only in trouble these days because consumers are becoming cheaper & cheaper, buying based on price instead of quality & durability. The more people buy into these cheap products w/ short lifespans, the fewer quality built products we will have access to. I personally would rather buy a quality tv that will remain in good working order for years as opposed to buying a cheaper one bound to break down w/in a year or two, and I'd like to keep the potential for do...

Finances don't mean much when you're creatively bankrupt. By that logic, the Oscars should be handing best picture honors to titles like Transformers instead of the more worthy lower budget affairs that typically sweep the awards.
