Seems like there are more people who absolutely love this game, also without having played it. I'm totally indifferent personally, I'm a single player/couch co op guy, but to those who dig online mp, I hope it's even half as great as the hype has made it out to be. What I don't want is games like this one & Destiny being successful enough to get publishers to force devs into doing away with true offline single player experiences, singleplayers have already had to deal w/ s...

I'd say more likely you will be offered a proprietary Microsoft branded 1TB HDD for well above what a typical one retails for. Why else would Microsoft have all of those fancy USB 3.0 ports w/o support of any expandable disk drives whatsoever? Sony learned a hard lesson on this w/ the Vita, and it seems very possible that the reason why the ps4 must be cracked open to be expanded upon unlike last gen when you could do it externally is because the Vita's negative reception in those reg...

Microsoft have been the kings of double talk regarding this whole situation. First Phil Spencer is singing Black Tusk's new Ip's praises, calling it "the next Halo", then it's no longer a new ip, it was always just "some concept work". They are saying that this gen is all about great exclusives and new ip's, while the only "new ip" in the cards is Project Spark and Quantum Break, meanwhile all of their visible resources have been put into keeping ...

Where did you read this? I'd love to see a source, that would be great if they were, but I've never seen anything even alluding to that, they are a brand new studio w/ 100 employees, they were said to have been working on the new ip at e3, if it were a multi-team studio, they would have to be working on concurrent projects, whether or not one or more of the teams were ready to mention any game progress at e3, I'm pretty sure it would be clear by now that there are multiple teams a...

@RockPapa

Ok, if that was all too vague for you (Microsoft's process, not mine), here's one including quotes directly from Phil Spencer that not only says that they are now working on Gears of War, but that Black Tusk never had an actual New Ip to begin with, only a few "Concept Pieces"

http://www.gamepur....

Phil Spencer at E3: "Black Tusk is amazing!! They are creating a brand new ip that will be this generation's Halo as we speak!! Look for an announcement very soon!!"

Phil Spencer Now: "Um, no that was just some concept stuff, nothing special, but GEARS OF WAR NOW!!!!"

That's the way to inspire confidence among gamers about a generation MS claims will be "all about the new ips and great new first party studios". Sounds li...

They have literally said that development is starting on the new Gears of War now, hence the new ip is backburnered, unless a brand new studio is splitting into two teams.....Look at what Microsoft did to Rare, they have a long history of dictating exactly what, when and where their studios will create, which is something that should've ended w/ this gen if they are truly trying to get behind the big notion they are pushing about creating compelling new ips and exclusives. Instead they gr...

Totally agree with your assessment. I have no doubt that Remedy will pull off something special, but I'm getting a little tired of the smug comments coming from some devs this gen. Have a little humility, I'm more inclined to believe in someone who sells their game by saying they have put a lot of time and effort & heart into it and they really hope people enjoy it than the new trend of "Our game is amazing, mindblowing, revolutionary, you will never look at games the same wa...

Titanfall has absolutely Zero reviews. The full game hasn't been played in finished form yet. Let's wait until release to call this an unmitigated success.

I was wondering the same thing, wouldn't it be important at this point to have the alpha as representative of the final build as possible, since this is testing done to weed out any bugs? Seems like if they are trying to get a read on gameplay alone that this should've been done a long time ago, the game is releasing in less than 2 months, and resolutions and textures would add to any system strain that could potentially create bugs I would assume. In this day & age, especially fo...

haha yeah, but you have to have a release window before you can have an actual delay....

My bet and probably the biggest no brainer would be Quantum Break. Coming from a developer w/ a history of delays, a game that not only introduces a time manipulation element that will most definitely be difficult to pin down, but also some type of live action integrated tv show, there is no possible way this game sees a proper release this year. I could see Microsoft pushing out a live a...

normally that would definitely be the case, but we have to keep in mind that Game Informer is a magazine out to sell issues, they typically only ever feature big games so as to sell more copies. I've never seen low key indie games or remastered ones on their covers. Look at GI's track record of revealing games, it's actually pretty great. This is bound to be a big game, I'm guessing it might be Fallout 4...GI premiered the last Rainbow 6 game that neve...

The difference between the two companies you mentioned is that Naughty Dog is a developer, Activision is a publisher. Publishers typically have no artistic merit, they are strictly in it to make money, and when they see Call of Duty selling gangbusters year in, year out, it just makes more fiscal sense for them to milk it for all its worth. Its up to the developers to be talented and caring enough to try to make the game worthy of a purchase, too many developers these days are happy shipping ...

@gutz.....you do know how steam works don't you? There needs to be moisture present, so either you are insinuating that dude sprayed water over a hot system, or the console somehow puts off liquid. Which is it?

This is a good list, I just have one nitpick with the Fifth section...It's very possible for one game to get Best Song while another gets Best Soundtrack...Think about the horseback ride into Mexico in Red Dead Redemption...That is one of the best music moments in games bar none, and many games have taken to trying to recreate that feeling, of a perfect song set during the perfect moment. A game could have little to no music through the rest, but it would still deserve recognition if it c...

same here, the rpg's are far too time consuming for me and I typically tend to lose interest after a couple hours of the same world w/o new mechanics and experiences to add variety...I like when games incorporate small aspects of the genre, but I can't get far into it in its more pure form. Sounds like you and I would have a pretty similar list...I'd also find a way to add Rayman to the ones you mentioned...also, Arkham Origins is well worth waiting for a goty edition, the amount ...

Well said...too many people disregard the fact that Sony has always done well by their consumers by ensuring that their prior consoles have plenty of life still left after they launch their new ones, Microsoft have only ever shown the complete opposite, they did it w/ the original Xbox, they are doing it w/ the 360...they coast on multplat releases that tend to dry up quicker and quicker, but they make better money when all of the risk is on the third party to make content for their system, a...

More awards shows should do this...i mean they are obviously supported by multibillion dollar industries, why do they need outside revenue sources? I get that it could be considered a form of blackmail, but if shows like the oscars had exclusive previews and reveals from upcoming movies instead of commercials, I'm sure a helluva lot more people would watch

I don't know where the notion that Uncharted would be shown again came from, especially for everyone to seem so solid in thinking it would be there. After the launch party reveal of the game, the devs themselves said we wouldn't be seeing more from it anytime soon, and devs don't outright lie usually, they would've said to "keep your eyes open" or "no comment" if there was a chance we'd be getting a gameplay trailer at vgx...while i'd love to see ev...

I don't understand this notion that Keighley hypes Spike's reveals too much, I'm seeing it a lot these days, but on my end, the only real times when Spike has exclusives (vgas, launch parties, etc.) to hype, they have always turned out great to me. Maybe not mindblowing in the footage front, because those things are usually saved for trade shows, but on pure reveals, look at the recent track record, PS4 launch revealed Uncharted 4 & the Last of Us dlc, last years VGAs revealed...
