If you watch the first video that the guy does, he is very reasonable and patient through the whole thing, possibly having to deal w/ hours on the phone w/ these people as well as giving out upwards of a thousand pounds to get the issue fixed in a rapid manner, only to get a second bricked console has worn him down a bit, which is totally understandable. Also, when someone spends such a large amount on a system and games at launch, reserving one for a later date is...
They need to use a black guy w/ a fade and a goatee, trying to put himself through business school in the evenings, while running a drug empire for his incarcerated best friend. Set the game in Baltimore, have a DUP division ran by a drunken Irishman named McNulty and his sassy adulterous friend Bunk Moreland, then watch the sparks fly. Infamous: Greatest Show Ever.
@ziggur....yeah i figured it was something that is warned against on most products with a disc drive, i had just never seen it so prominently featured right under the drive before. Hopefully this guys case is a very rare one, bad consoles are never fun
That's a pretty weird thing to say, did you order it from Microsoft directly somehow? Did they offer you a money back guarantee type deal or something?
What is with the warning on the front that you absolutely must not move the console with a disc in the drive? I've never read that written on any kind of cd drive, especially not so prominently, might be a coincidence, might be a connection
let me guess at the contents of this article...
My Decade with Xbox:
I played a metric shitton of Halo, Gears of War & Call of Duty. Ate a lot of Doritos. Spent a lot on postage shipping my system off to be fixed.
Top Gun?
wow, that is surprising...Spike has always been Xbox central when it comes to these kinds of shenanigans...might this allude to a smarter marketing push from Sony? Microsofts early lead in the console war was down to its marketing being a huge factor, and Sony's never really had the same grasp on American marketing techniques it seems. People always point to sales of ps3 exclusives coming in consistently lower than the 360s, but with the possible even split of consoles this gen and a prop...
It's still a bit early to say that Titanfall will be such a huge hit and sell so many millions. The hardcore multiplayer contingent will be sure bets, and it will more than likely sell a lot of lifetime units, but look at other new ips. The original Mass Effect wasn't anywhere near as big as the other two that I know of, and that's a sure trend, new ips rarely ever put up the numbers of their sequels. Plus this game has no true single player component, so it's focus is even ...
Yeah I was kinda worried about the review embargo not being lifted until release day, a sure sign that the devs or publishers have less than the utmost faith in their product, so I was expecting this score exactly. It's obviously not bad, but it's not going to live up to the high water mark of the prior two. I pretty much knew this as soon as I heard that Dini was axed...people don't give enough credit to the writers of these games, when someone like Dini works on something like a...
Answering "why should single player gamers be bothered to play this" with "it gives more time to hone the multiplayer without it" is not an answer...if this game sets the trends even further into mp territory, I'm out....I've never found any enjoyment playing online, couch co op makes sense to me, but online free for alls are just messy and annoying
I think you hit the nail on the head, people are saying this will spell doom for Watch Dogs, but really this decision was obviously made to save Watch Dogs, when Watch Dogs was originally solicited, GTA 5 was releasing in the late Spring timeframe, now in light of it's delay and success, its proximity to Watch Dogs, they are just listening to what everyone's saying, which is who needs Watch Dogs when we have GTA? Now they obviously aren't the same game, but pushing Watch Dogs back...
there are xbox 360 games in 2014? That's news to me
seriously, what is a situation where 8 simultaneous controllers would be needed? Aside from possible quick switching between profiles, there is no such thing as an 8 way split screen that i know of, and if there was one it might strain your eyes to be watching such a tiny window, beyond the fact that its probably impossible for any machine to run 8 simultaneous games concurrently...so what's the draw for so many controllers? genuinely curious here
Yeah the first few videos looked much more impressive visually than this one to me...the amount of zombies onscreen is cool, but I'd take the last of us over this everyday and twice on sunday
@foxgod
Where are these studios games though? Killer Instinct is by Double Helix, not in house at ms last I checked, unless they bought the studio recently, in which case, not a smart acquisition, because all of their games have been pretty bad...Dead Rising 3 is capcom, obviously not an in house, Titanfall is Respawn, not in house, Ryse is crytek, not in house..the list goes on and on....the only games from in house studios in production that I know of for now is kinect sports by rar...
What exactly is in house at Microsoft? Not a single in house game for Microsoft announced yet beyond Halo 5, some kinect titles, and a potential black tusk title that hasn't been officially announced yet....that's microsofts main problem, they don't have many first party games at all
I've got a theory after the recent trailer showed delsin taking fetch's neon powers...if you watch it, it looks like the action is almost hurting her, which makes me think that when delsin takes a power, he literally takes it...it would give the dup a legit reason to single him out, so they can use him to deactivate other conduits, and it also seems like he and his brother are on some kind of mission judging by the trailers released so far...anybody have any thoughts on this, or maybe...
Totally agreed...all signs seem to point to developers having dev kits by late 2011 at the earliest, so for a company known to take a very long time to develop games, a year and some change is just not enough time to put out a superior product...it's obvious they are pushing this title to compete with cod for next gen launches, and as such they won't be quite up to the regular standard...that said, exclusives will always be the place where a console truly shines, just look at the last...
Maybe they should've held off a bit on working on this dlc in order to ship a game that wasn't so damn broken. Origins was totally forgettable compared to the other two, and this is simply a new set of challenge maps w/ a story shoehorned in to sucker people who don't care about challenge maps....no thank you. Come back soon Rocksteady, we need you.
