Bravo! Reply of the day right there. Really wish people would just allow others to have their opinions w/o trying to tell them how wrong they are for it.
Not sure what kind of bearing cutscenes & qte segments would hold on your argument. A game can only look visually stunning if it has qte & cutscenes? All cutscenes are in engine so its not like the great visuals are all attributed to the cutscenes, and qte's are a gameplay mechanic that have no connection to visual performance whatsoever. The qte's, the black bars & the linear gameplay focused on storytelling are all creative decisions w/ impact on the title, not power con...
Why exactly would that be cause to be sad? Bragging rights would be the only thing I could think of & that should be worth exactly nothing to a fan of gaming. Or I guess PS4 gamers could be sad its not coming to their console for some unspecified period of time (likely a year or 2 at most) but after seeing the early coverage I'm fine by it. Can't really get any kind of feel whether or not it truly is a looker based solely off of a cinematic trailer sans gameplay & a handful of...
MS aren't completely funding the game. I assume that they are grabbing the marketing & production costs so CD's funds can go solely to creating the game. Beyond that, would it actually be smart of MS to drop what would no doubt be a VERY lofty sum just to keep a single game from another console? Wouldn't that money be more wisely spent on a handful of diverse new games available only for their system instead of all being thrown at a single one? Money that is spent on keeping t...
And yet, I still think this game will end up w/ scores in the 6-8 range, regardless of whether or not it would be worthy of a higher score. I'm predicting a complete reverse of the Evolve situation where user reviews are very positive & critical reviews are a bit middling or flat out low. Too many journalists have been dumping on the title for too long to make too much of an abrupt heel-turn & most don't seem to be humble enough to eat the crow they've sat in front of them...
Druckman said it's more like a 1.5 team studio. The other project would be in early concept stages helmed by a smaller skeleton crew, once UC4 is finished the full team will pivot over to that title. So probably shouldn't expect rapid fire releases but they will definitely be on a solid release every 2-3 year schedule. This method is definitely working for them, can't wait to see what the next project is. I'm really hoping for that Savage Starlight sci-fi title to become a rea...

Haha yup, that's pretty much me too. About the only co-op I can do is in the same room w/ my brother while we co-operatively fail at whatever we are trying to do.
For some reason I hadn't even thought about dlc for The Order but now that you mention it, I'd say that game would be ripe w/ potential for it. The multiple characters & deep storyline are practically begging to be expanded upon, The main game could be 40 hours and ...
They even started production on a Jak sequel that got scrapped in favor of TLOU so I'm sure the franchise would be welcomed by Sony if ND wanted to hand it over to another dev. Gotta say scrapping a Jak sequel in favor of TLOU was definitely a smart move, and I personally would rather see Naughty Dog push forward w/ the directions they are currently taking, let someone like Sumo or Media Molecule or Sanzaru take over the Jak franchise.
Yup, I totally agree on both counts. The single player genre needs a shot in the arm to prove to publishers that its still a viable market. I do my part by buying these games day one (assuming the games are quality well built experiences), hopefully other like minded players will do the same. I'm not ready for the future of every game being always online or multiplayer only or pay to win or mmo or what have you, the problem is that single player games don't have the benefit of that pe...
I dunno Doc Holladay, hard to say definitively that Bloodborne is "clearly better & more interesting", that's subjective. I personally would go w/ The Order because I simply don't have the skills, the time, or the masochistic streak required to truly appreciate Bloodborne. Not saying it looks bad at all, I'm hoping there will be an easy baby mode for me so I can check out the world because the environments & characters look amazing, The Order just strokes my fanc...
I haven't seen too many PS fans attacking QB at this point, not nearly to the frequency of something like The Order. I don't have an Xbox but I sure would love to get my hands on QB, that game looks phenomenal & w/ Remedy at the helm its sure to be a stunner. That said, I'm not sure it'll make the holidays w/ the amount of involvement going into the property coupled w/ the finesse & time that Remedy put into their games. Hopefully the Xbox sees another good price drop ...
It's not really being handled by different devs though to my understanding. CD is developing the game but Nixxes is porting it to the 360. The title of this article makes it out like they are 2 separate processes when in actuality one feeds into another. It's not like people say that 343 developed Halo 2 just because they ported it to a different system.
That looks like a snow covered version of the same island from the last game really. They promised a 'globe spanning epic' so hopefully this is just one area. The last game was great fun but the environment got a little old for me. Oh well I probably won't be playing this one for awhile anyway because I don't have an Xbox, but I'm more than sure that UC4 will scratch my action adventure itch quite well this holiday season so I won't miss it that much. It's a shame ...
I'm all for healthy criticism but most of the volleys lobbed at The Order just make no real sense to me. It's a "generic tps"...not sure that's a complaint that should be saddled w/ one particular game. If someone has a problem w/ a tps they should simply ignore them or admit its not their cup of tea when there are many gamers who enjoy those core experiences. It's "on rails" so apparently people have forgotten what that term actually means because I'm ...
Amen to that. I'm getting tired of every game being a grindy open world type of deal. I only have time to play maybe 1 or 2 games of that ilk per year & even then only if I've read some glowing praise from likeminded gamers. A good linear cinematic game can accomplish more in 10 hours than what a lesser open world game can do in 100 in my opinion. I enjoy getting lost in a game world, but I prefer to have multiple environments to take in personally & I need some kind of story ...
@jc12
That's good to hear that they shipped this game in a solid state. I don't doubt that its a fun game, I had decent fun w/ Dead Island (although I'm not a fan of the huge crafting systems & grindy gameplay typically) but that bug on the first game really turned me off to the developer. You could get around 3/4 of the way thru but a story mission had you escorting a native & there was a small ledge, small enough to hop right over, but big enough to not ...
Not only that but there's a real downgrade at play. I find it funny that so many games have been accused of this but when one drops that is so obviously VERY far from what was promised in the very first footage of the game, no one mentions it. To me, this is a Watch Dogs level downgrade. Look at the textures & general look & feel of the first gameplay section from last year, then look at the muddy textures & hazy look on the final build. I guess the devs weren't technicall...
Not sure how being included in PS+ would make devs feel slighted. The devs are obviously being paid for their game by Sony & being featured on such a huge platform can only help get their games into more heads. Its a win-win really. Look at how many games that were featured on Plus that went on to be huge sensations even when they were no longer free. Its not like this is something that was hoisted upon them, they were asked & agreed to be featured so they must see the deal as a valua...
It does for me personally. I'm not the most skilled player so it gets frustrating seeing the same bits over & over again. The game looks amazing though for sure...has there been any word on whether or not they'll be an easier difficulty setting & whether or not an 'easy' setting on a game like this is anything approaching actual ease?
Especially from a site like CraveOnline. All of the contributors there are bandwagon jumping morons w/ no opinions of their own...across every single outlet. Outside of one dude that does some music & festival coverage, he's the only decent one there.
