I would see it being the opposite really. It'll be cheaper to target the weaker platform, and the install base will be significantly longer for an indeterminate amount of time. We've already seen a lot of gamers hang on to their last gen consoles as long as possible, now they will have even more reason to do so.
This is why I think these machines may end up getting exclusives sooner than later, regardless of what the companies are saying. I personally think Scorpio ...
I don't think they'll need a downgrade...from what they've said the demo was already running on PS4. The visuals are definitely beautiful, but graphically it looks to be on par w/ UC4 & that ran on a standard unit. I can see the large amount of enemies being a hurdle, but I don't think it's impossible. GoW games have a history of setting graphical benchmarks on console....I think the main hurdle this one has to jump is the new camera system. It's a lot easier to hi...
Oh please, you honestly believe that "for the devs" line? I mean, if they really wanted devs aware of the console, they'd just ship them a dev kit. But they can't do that because they don't have the hardware finalized.
So he's announcing "for the devs" to do what? Clear some space off a counter and reserve it for a Scorpio? Hold off on developing actual games on existing hardware to instead wait around for a new box? Spencer did not annou...
Yeah, I'd say that will be the route they take. To my knowledge the only Spidey game that stuck to a specific story was Maximum Carnage.
I'm really interested to hear who will be writing this game. Dan Slott is an amazing Spidey writer & he did great scripts for Shattered Dimensions & Web, so he's a good possibility but they may change it up to present something different. We've already seen one of Mr. Negative's goons in the trailer who is a Dan...
"What really shocks me is the amount of views Halo Wars 2 got (5.2 Million). I guess people are hungry for real time strategy games."
I'm not sure that is the reason for the views. First off, anything w/ 'Halo' in the title will put up a lot of views, and since that trailer was entirely CG (although a very cool one), a lot of those viewers won't even understand that it even is an RTS. If the trailer was entirely gameplay then you'd have a point...
Nah it definitely won't be that one...Barlog said the troll wasn't even a boss, it was a basic enemy. Seems to be on the level of the cyclops trolls from the previous games.
I'm thinking that Midgard Serpent or the Dragon from the distance may be the opening boss...Most interesting to me really is how they connect the prior games to this one...what happened after he got off that mountain?
Well considering 4k adoption is still pretty low, last statistics put it in less than 5% of American homes & even less in all other countries, I'm not so sure a 4k bd player is the dire pressing issue you are making it out to be. Even beyond that, I'd assume Sony would be good considering they make money off of every BD drive being sold in that box. Sony would be just fine w/o a cheap 4k BD player this holiday season, and that is assuming Sony itself doesn't already have a ded...

Seems obvious to me what Insomniac are doing...they are making games. They have no strict edict right now, that is their entire edict. They tried the MS route and by most accounts SSOD didn't sell well. It wasn't a total loss for them because they got an Ip out of it & some goodwill from Xbox gamers. Song of the Deep will allow them to get in on the ground floor w/ a new publisher that could potentially turn into a major player. Edge of Nowhere gives them...
It's not really completely irrelevant though is it? Could've sworn that many devs seem to be having a hard time even getting so games to run across different hardware. Look how horribly Arkham Knight did, or how poorly Gears UE & QB ran compared to their console counterparts.
Having more sku's to hit can present issues, UWP or not. Pretty sure QB was retooled as a UWP title and it sure didn't benefit it much.
The 5.5 tflops originates from NeoGaf, but the initial statements come from Jim Ryan himself. If the numbers were as simple as 4 vs. 6 he would've deflected or admitted as much. He plainly said that the rumors weren't factual & he plainly insinuated that they were off by a fair margin.
From what I know, Jim Ryan hasn't publicly stretched the truth or flat out lied on multiple occasions like Spencer. I'd personally believe the behind doors humble talk fro...
Would they have? I don't necessarily believe Neo will be more powerful, but let's just say hypothetically it is...Sony would've allowed MS the time to shout about how important power is from the rooftop, to declare their console "Most Powerful Ever" in the most arrogant fashion, then turn around & make them look like fools w/ a single announcement....kinda like what they did w/ the Used Games commercial for the PS4 E3 reveal.
So we've got prece...
Not a chance that PS4 sold so well solely due to its performance. If that was the case then gamers would all be building PCs.
PS4s success was down to a number of reasons...power was one of them but that was also down the price, 'most powerful' only goes so far but 'most powerful while also $100 cheaper than their closest competitor' turns a PS4 purchase into a no brainer. Add to that the superior lineup of first party devs & last gen's exclusive dom...
The hardware isn't even finalized for Scorpio yet. There are no dev kits in developers hands. Most devs weren't even aware Scorpio existed when it was announced.
Scorpio obviously wasn't announced now for the devs, it was announced now as a Hail Mary pass to keep people from buying further into the PS ecosystem w/ PSVR & Neo. It was also announced to make their E3 seem a bit better.
Same here...I typically don't even notice or watch a cg trailer, and I'm not even a huge Kojima fan, but that thing was just very well put together. I can actually get a sense of the narrative tones from the trailer & they are very intriguing.
Have you seen the videos breaking down the Easter eggs? The entire trailer is basically cut to mimic the introduction of Arnold in T2, pretty deliberately so that's a hint that time or space travel plays a bit role...t...
Well the only issue w/ limited ammo in a game like this is that it could get frustrating. Those Freakers just keep coming at you, I could only imagine how much it would suck to run out of ammo in a situation like that....the bike would come in handy in situations like those, but I'm guessing there will also be traps & explosives to prepare any area you enter for the inevitable arrival of the Freakers.
I'd imagine ammo wouldn't be scarce, nor should it be...w...
It wasn't the worst game ever but it was easily the most frustrating game Ubisoft has released this gen & in some number of years.
It was just poorly thought out from start to finish. The only upside was the hacking mechanic for me...everything else fell somewhere between lackluster & straight up infuriating.
Even dropping the game down to easy, some enemies are still bullet sponges & Aiden is extremely underpowered. They give you tactical...

"Why don't you spend your time telling Microsoft that you're happy they are bringing more of their games to PC but you would like them to fix the issues with their windows game service on PC?"
Exactly this. It is nonsense to take MS to task for opening up their ecosystem to more players. To me a console exclusive is as good as a full one because Console gaming & PC gaming are two entirely different beasts. I personally don't car...
GT Sport, Gravity Rush 2, No Man's Sky...all notable games any way you slice it.
Sony's pattern was thin on the holidays the past couple years, but that is changing back to the year round release schedule the Playstation always enjoys after the first couple years are out of the way.
PS4 has Gravity Rush 2, GT Sport, The Last Guardian & No Man's Sky all in the cards. DR4 is a timed exclusive so it really doesn't count as it is only 'exclusive' for a short period of time.
For full exclusives, it is hands down PS4 in quantity, as well as console exclusives. Quality is subjective & Recore, Gears & Forza haven't even released yet so their quality is to be determined.
I think you are severely overstating the rumored gulf in power. It has already been said to be roughly the same percentage wise as the gap between PS4 & X1, but in MS' favor.
Unless you honestly believe that X1 is chugging hard to look even a fraction as good as a PS4 game, which is kinda ridiculous. There's a difference but it isn't a tremendous as you are making it out to be just like it's not as tremendous as some PS4 fans made it out to be over X1. A...
