@moldy
"maybe he is concerned? hard to tell but since we all know who this is chances are yes, he is concerned."
That's rich coming from you moldy. Could swear I've seen you trying to downplay actual legitimate Sony news day in, day out....it's a bit pot kettle black for you to try to call me out on pointing out discrepancies in an article like this.
I have no issue whatsoever with exclusives first or third party....
@dragon
Pretty simple, the title is click bait as they've read into something non existent & labeled it as 'news', then they've used suspect wording to try to connect some dots that aren't really there...beyond that, the tweet in question does more to disallow for the prospect than actually open for it.
Boon specifically said "I loves me some KI BUT (but is the keyword there) a crossover would have to be an Xbox exclusive"...
@darx
Using the OS & patronizing the Store are two different things really. Just because 40 million have the ability to play the games exclusive to Win10 Store doesn't mean that many actually will. If MS keeps throwing out poorly optimized games like QB & hold back key features, they aren't gonna do much in the way of growth
Also, MS exclusives so far have been exactly that, they have only been selling in the Win10 Store, so I haven't ...
@moldy
The first sentence there is exactly why I have an interest in what MS does. I like games. I'm all in for an Xbox when they get enough of the kind of games I care about. I'd rather buy a lateral box than an upgrade in all honesty, assuming those upgrades don't have exclusives of their own.
Either way, anything MS does impacts PS gamers & vice versa. If MS pushes Scorpio as a new generation with its own exclusives, it could force Sony...
I like this part:
"Responding to a fan recommendation for a potential Mortal Kombat crossover,"
"But the fact that Ed Boon specifically mentioned the franchise is interesting news for fans"
Ed Boon didn't specifically mention the franchise, he responded to a question that specifically mentioned the franchise. Two wildly different things. Manufactured headlines at their finest here. Boon was just stating the obvio...
Always a troll around these parts...It's a shame that people are twisting a positive into a negative in order to fan the fanboy flames.
"In Development" is a response to the numerous delays Sony has had...now they will hold off until they have a firm release date, which is a good thing. "In Development" doesn't mean that these games are far off, most of these new announcements will absolutely release next year. Spider-Man will release around the ...
It's kinda relative really...maybe Sony does take the L but maybe that war only lasts a year or two before Sony is back on top.
Either way, games will matter more than ever now, because if they are expecting the core to refresh their console every couple years, they will have to deliver a large assortment of quality games basically non stop, otherwise people won't upgrade until they feel they got their money's worth.
The specs war is kinda ir...
Have they confirmed that Insomniac is even handling the story? A lot of times they will get the actual comic writers to work on these games...Beenox's Shattered Dimensions was written by Dan Slott, the guy who has been writing Spidey for the past 6 years or so, Arkham Asylum & City (the best of the bunch) were both written by Paul Dini, the guy who created Batman Animated Series & co created Harley Quinn.
My guess is Dan Slott or Rob Williams will be penning thi...
Gotta also factor in that the core PC community prefers Steam, and many straight up detest Windows games services after GFWL & more recently the poor performance of Gears UE & QB. PC guys are hard core & they never forget, so MS is facing a huge uphill battle. Even w/ MS making this move, the most it can mean is that their Win10 exclusives get more players. Until Win10 becomes more open and gets features at least in line w/ Steam, as well as the cheap prices that are on that platf...
I think consumers are very informed these days. It will all be down to how significant any power advantage is. People didn't buy the PS4 solely because it was more powerful, they grabbed it because it was cheaper, the power pushed it over the edge though. Add on top of that a large group of negative experiences w/ the 360 after a largely proliferated RRoD debacle & the relative lack of quality exclusives in comparison to the PS3, as well as the horrible reveal scenario for the XBO &am...
@spice
I will say that you are more level headed than most on here, so my apologies if I hoisted anything on you that didn't fit.
I just see that criticism about "it's not coming out for another decade" as a way that a lot of the more hardcore on here are downplaying some amazing game announcements. Sony made a point to refrain from dating much this year & I feel like they did that in response to the criticism about the delays, which...
"JB/- You would be surprise how much people chose the PS4 over the XB1 because of how small it was and how streamline it looked. "
Prove it. Just a single shred of evidence that even a single person bought a console based solely off of how it looked. I'll just wait here. I don't have full faith in humanity, but I refuse to believe that anyone, gamer or otherwise, would buy a console based off of its aesthetics. You could say price, you could say games, you...
No one buys consoles for their form factor. The PS4 was a hit because it was the most powerful box on the market, sans useless devices like Kinect & possessive of a large & varied cache of exclusive franchises that people love.
News flash. The PS3 slim contained the exact same hardware in a more slim form factor. Companies have been developing, announcing & releasing slim consoles for a very long time. In those instances the console you buy tomorrow will have nearly the exact same innards & power as the slim versions when they release. There is more at play here than meets the eye. We will know soon enough.
I'm also pretty sure the main reason why you, Red Dragon, well known MS fanboy ...
Just a hypothetical Foe, but what if Neo isn't an entirely new console at all, but a breakout box similar to what's included w/ PSVR? It could add the extra power while allowing existing users to upgrade if they see fit without ditching their entire console.
The narrative for Neo is wide open, and I have a feeling that your vanilla launch PS4 won't be useless when it does drop.
Either way, the only instance you'd see Neo as anything but a ...
Just do a quick search of theories behind this trailer...you will fall down an entire rabbit hole, the likes of which just don't exist elsewhere. Kojima didn't just release a traditional early cg trailer, he has created an entire narrative based off of these quick 2 minutes...most games would kill to be as deep as it in all honesty. I understand the cliches about Kojima fans overblowing his abilities, but this trailer is easily more involved than anything else released this year at E3...
Really working hard to downplay this one Fin...
The game is absolutely intriguing...the trailer is only the tip of the iceberg, Kojima added some crazy Easter eggs, just do a quick YouTube search to get them explained.
The trailer was basically cut to complement Arnold's entrance into Terminator 2...2 of the dog tags on Norman Reedus' neck show equations related to black holes & quantum mechanics. This isn't something that was thrown toget...
Your opinion is irrelevant....mainly because you don't seem to realize that Infamous is Sucker Punch's franchise, not Insomniac's....you do realize they are different devs right? Obviously not.
They aren't announcing a "sequel" they are just confirming that this is a new world & franchise. They have enough confidence in their title to realize that it'll continue. Judging by your comment history I'd say you didn't have a problem w/ 3...
That's good advice from Dragon...by the time Insomniac's Spider-Man drops the lineup of fully exclusive titles will be deep enough for the system to be a worthy purchase for gamers of all tastes really.
I find that a lot of time gamers will ignore or not be fussed by games that aren't on a platform they own until they get the chance to actually try them out. If you've got access to the games it's a lot easier to find the interest in them as well. The PS4...
All honesty, does anyone disagree that MS would make the most money from pivoting to solely being software devs? I think that's their back up plan if this next one falls through. They've already bolstered their portfolio by buying the Gears license, Minecraft, moving to owning all IPs created by 3rd parties, and buying up the Havok engine.
I think that's their parachute, if this new venture goes down in flames, they will have a guaranteed money maker in their ba...
