An asinine statement if there ever was one - as if a console only needs to have exclusives to be used. There have been plenty of PS4 exclusives, indies and many more multi-platform AAA games you could play on the PS4 - but you haven't because you don't have a PS4.
I think you will find that the PS1 did have competition - Nintendo and Sega (Saturn and then Dreamcast), and PS2 also had Nintendo and then Xbox as competitors but they were so far behind it felt as though there was little competition. The last gen was the first time Sony was really challenged with the 1 year headstart Xbox 360 had and then the poor launch of the PS3 (high-priced due to blu-ray drive) but despite this, eventually Sony went into the lead albeit by a small margin.

I wonder if you are a gamer only during the holidays or do you play games throughout the year because the last time I looked PS4 has games coming out throughout the year! There is one coming in just over a week called 'Bloodborne' and only 3 weeks ago there was 'The Order 1886'. In fact, there was also 'Helldivers', 'Ollie Ollie 2', 'Hotline Miami 2' and these are ALL exclusives on PS4.
I think most people who are Naughty Dog fans knew something like this could happen. It is clear ND is pushing the boundaries with this game and needed longer than was initially forecast. I think this is a good thing as the game will only get better!
I hardly think this has anything to do with any other game be it 'The Order' or 'Tomb Raider'. Xbone only won two months out of 12 last year only because of the many, many price cuts and bargains that they made ...
What a pair of idiots - a shit-stiring black dude and a dumbass white cop who gives his personal details out online. They are both as bad as each other but the more telling statement "I get paid to kill n..... like you..." is totally unacceptable from someone who should be professional AT ALL TIMES as an upholder of the law. That is the difference and it is right that he got fired.
Racism should not be acceptable to anyone in any situation whatsoever and discrim...
Why do some idiots here always insult a competing console when their favorite console has a release that gets a good score? Just enjoy your game and your console and stop flag-waving!
In response to your silly comment, actually in addition to 'The Order', PS4 has had 'Helldivers', 'Olli Olli 2' in just the last week or so and will be getting 'Bloodborne' in just over a week, all of which are NOT on the Xbone. Happy? Clearly not, judging by...
Your statement shows how litle you know. Sony were the 'Apple' of the 70's and 80's right up to 2002 after the successful launch of the PS2. We all know about Betamax which was superior to VHS but still failed and aside from the very successful Walkman and Mini-disc, Sony was involved in the development of the CD, and even Blu-ray.
Some attribute the downward trend of Sony as a technological innovator to the appointment of Howard Stringer as CEO in 2005, who...
er..Oculus Rift have only stated that the next development goal will be 4K but this is just the plan. At this time, their specs are more or less the same as the Morpheus. I am sure Sony will also be thinking of 4K gaming, probably for PS5 and the next major upgrade of Morpheus after release. I am just glad that at least one of the two major developers of VR has announced a date now.
A year will go buy really fast. February 2013,over two years ago, feels just like yesterday when Sony announced PS4 and we now have over 20 million sold. Also the fact that Sony has announced a 2016 date shows that they have been working on VR a long time and now arrived at the point where they feel the specifications are good enough for a consumer release. The year long wait for us will allow Sony to improve the specifications and software even more and build momentum to a successful lau...
I think releasing in the first half of 2016 is a VERY smart move by Sony. It will give the PS4, which by then will have been out for two and a half years, a boost in terms of re-energizing sales with a new emphasis.
If you think the performance of the PS4 has been meteoric since launch, just imagine if Sony get VR right and also have the best looking headset, and performance that at least matches the other flagpole of VR, Oculus Rift...PS4 will appear to have a LOT more to...
Good selection ...but many own one or two of the games anyway. Pity Sony does not allow alternative selections for those own one or two of the games but I guess that would be just to cost-prohibitive.
If it is a total exclusive, it will have cost a lot to get that exclusivity. It makes no sense. SE was complaining about the sales of the reboot (which had been released on all the consoles), so not releasing on the two bestselling consoles (PS3 and PS4)is business suicide unless the safety net is a HUGE cheque from Microsoft.
Pachter can't be serious! Microsoft has paid a lot more for just dlc! $10m is not even serious. Given Microsoft wanted to shut out the PS4 which is outselling Xbone nearly 2 to 1 and over 8 million units ahead at the time the deal was made, the figure would have been closer to the 80 to $100 million mark at least.
Square Enix has lost the goodwill of many gamers and there is no way even if the game comes out on PS4 six months or a year later will it sell as much as it ...
If they have done concept art for other cities, no doubt at some point, most probably in the sequel, RaD will set some of the gameplay or story in these cities. I am curious to see where story goes next. Germany would factor as a major threat to the British Empire and while the United India Company has assets in the United States, India and probably Australia, I can't see how Florence relates to the story unless it has anything to do with the Medici family or the demise of Florence as a ...
The Order was always a game that was going to attract criticism because of the length especially as it is single player only. All customers have to do is buy it when it is a lot cheaper three or four months down the line. It will be down to £23 or thereabouts, reduced from the Day One price of £49.99 on Amazon. Makes the game a lot more value for money then, doesn't it?
Uncharted 2 was the best of the series in my opinion, The story for Uncharted 3 was weaker and overall I found it much easier than 2. With 4, given the kind of mechanics ND are going for, it could be very challenging and this in the end is a good thing.
I think this is your interpretation based on your own personal feelings about Naughty Dog and Uncharted. Nowhere in the article does anyone from ND insinuate, as you put it,"everything else is garbage, naughty god is here, repent!" The writer alludes to the fact that in 2012 there were a lot of proposed games that seemed to borrow for the ND playbook but which have failed but this is nothing like what you suggest.
If other games are as good as Uncharted 4 or even b...
This is all about putting gloss on a situation. The Tomb Raider franchise has been on Playstation consoles for as long as anyone can remember and have in fact sold the most on this console (not comparing to PC, just consoles). Had this been an exclusive on PS4, the devs would have touted that instead. The reboot was released on PS4 and outsold the Xbone version and many gamers looked forward to the sequel as a result. To then restrict the game to a single console is, frankly, a slap in the...
This is been one of the fairest reviews by far. the game always deserved no less than 7 and no more than 8. It is definitely a game PS4 owners should buy, either now or when it is a bit cheaper.
"This year XB1 has the better exclusives and price advantage" er...no at least not on the 'better exclusives'. Maybe in your opinion, certainly not mine and that of many others. One can just as easily point out that PS4 has the better exclusives and more of them especially when taking into consideration the indies but I am sure many Xbone fans will disagree.
