With the 'Yakuza Remastered Collection', Xboxers and Playstation 4 gamers who have never played these wonderful games now get a chance to start from the beginning and go right through to the latest game on present generation hardware.

I would recommend newbies to start with 'Yakuza 0', a brand new prequel story and then move on to 'Yakuza Kiwami' and 'Yakuza Kiwami 2' which were full remakes of the original PS2 versions. Once you have gotten...

Gamingbolt...need I say more? This one is a throwback to the old articles where MS could no wrong. I fail to see how Sony has dropped the ball and comparison between the consoles will only be possible when the consumer editions are released and used to play multi-platform games. If anything, Sony comes across as trying something new than just out and out power which seems to be the MS mantra since the Xbox One X. For all we know the PS5 may perform better and we know that Sony's games...

It is silly we have constant articles on looking at whether single player gaming will continue into the next generation. I say this because if one format has been resoundingly successful this generation, it has been the single player game as created by Sony's own studios as well as second and third party studio with games that were created for the runaway hit console. From the early games including Infamous: Second Son, and Uncharted 4 to Horizon: Zero Dawn and the Yakuza series (these...

@rainslacker

I see your point. I agree that it is more than likely that people will use more than one service and that there may well be a marketplace where MS is competing with Amazon and Google. As long as Sony sticks with supplying software for its hardware like it has for the last quarter of a century, it doesn't matter how small or large that console market is, Sony will most likely endure and continue to thrive.

Another 'wishful thinking' article from Microsoft championing Forbes. Microsoft cannot simply say "we are no longer competing with Sony". Only us gamers will decide that. This generation especially Playstation has had so many exclusive releases that Microsoft is not even in the neighbourhood, let alone close. It has been no competition. Sony won that in 2015, hands down and then every year since. Sony will continue to do what it does so long as we gamers want it to. ...

Yeah, sure...what a load of bollocks!

The gaming industry always recedes to what is successful. Microsoft failed spectacularly this generation to the extent that it has been reduced churning out console out of console masquerading as 'upgrades' and then a new generation as it seeks to find an answer to the success of Playstation and PS4 and its transition to PS5 which threatens to be successful again simply because of one fact - gamers trust Sony. The trust has been...

All these sites demanding that Sony do something either because Microsoft showed its offering in December, or because Sony did it one way in 2013 the company should do it that way this time. Sony will do what it needs to and no one needs to tell them how.

How is what Sony does anti-consumer? The PS4 and PS4 Pro is there to play PS4 games and the PS5 will play the new PS5 games as well as PS4 games and perhaps selected Playstation games from the earlier consoles. This ensures that each game can be played at the the best possible resolution. If anything, Microsoft is the anti-consumer culprit here by not making games just for the latest consoles but instead designing games that will be also suitable for less demanding, less powerful hardware ...

Showing respect to fans would be Microsoft releasing 4 to 5 exclusives including single player games each year. The company hasn't done that - not even close. Sony, on the other hand, has been delivering exclusives each year from 1st and 2nd party studios by the bucket load. plus a whole new way of playing games (VR). Sony does not need to be at e3 to be successful. All it has to do is carry on as it has.

Of course, I did not mean to deprive those who like the dubs, I just meant Sega could focus on making other things better instead. Apologies

Personally, I hate the English dubs. Never sounds right - the character rarely sounds like the original Japanese counterpart. Sega should just make do with the English subtitles.

No.1 is either Nintendo or Sony but certainly NOT Microsoft. The latter may have announced its third new console in 6 years (One in 2013, 'X' in 2017 and now the piece of log for next year) but that does not win much considering Sony will also be releasing a new console plus big releases for existing console! (namely, TLOU 2, FF7 Remake, Ghost of Tsuhima, and Nioh 2 and probably a Yakuza game somewhere as they have been pouring out here in the west over the last two years). In addit...

This is why Sony has so much loyalty: In its last full year, the PS4 will have 4 major exclusive releases:

The Ghost of Tshushima
The Last of Us 2
Final Fantasy 7 Remake - Vol. 1
Dreams

The above will make Spring and Summer and then we have the PS5 to look forward to in November 2020. I cant wait to see what games are releasing for the PS5!

Sony has not disappointed me through 4 console releases and I see no reason to not trust the company for PS5. If possible, I will get mine on Day One with at least 4 or 5 games and since PS5 is expected to be backwards compatible, we will be able to enjoy all our PS4 favorites with even better res. I cant wait to play Uncharted 4 and Infamous: Second Son on PS5.

Got mine in the morning mail today (I am in Scotland). I am about to load it onto the PS4 PRO.

I can name 3 games already that will be most likely available with the PS5 - God of War (sequel to the 2018 game), Spider Man (sequel to the 2018 game), Horizon: Zero dawn (sequel to the 2016 game). In addition, to this we may also get sequels to Bloodborne, Killzone or even the Infamous series.

With only a few games left to release this gen, I suspect most of Sony's studios are busy on product for PS5. Even studios such as Sucker Punch and Naughty Dog (which are the ...

Will not make any difference! Before the PS4 came out, we had the original TLOU and GTA 5. The first is a first party game and the latter is a multi-platform title and yet both sold by the bucket-load when they were released for the PS4! With TLOU 2, Ghost of Tsushima, Sony may well release new remastered versions for PS5 or it may decide to release an update for each game. I suspect this will depend on how well the new console has done generally and how it is coping with its rival.

The writer is clearly biased towards Xbox One and Microsoft. The truth is that having a more powerful console does not necessarily mean it will sell more than a popular rival. Otherwise the X would be selling more than the PS4 and the Switch which it clearly isn't.

With regard to the PS3, the writer fails to acknowledge that the PS3 was actually cheaper than the 360 when taking into account all the extras one paid for with the 360 and the fact that the PS3 was intro...

The game looks fantastic and is even better than what I expected when they announced it. I think I will replay the original game on PS4 before the remake is released.
