Rubbish! It looked a lot better than the 360. It was also packed with loads of what was then new technology including a blu-ray player. The original 60gb 'fat' PS3 were built to last and mine has been going for over 10 years now and use it to play my PS1 games.

I pay for a game in advance and that's it. I don't indulge in micro-transactions and the only complaint I have with GT 7 has been the necessity of being online even when playing by myself.

It is disappointing that we have had no sign of GTA 6 either towards the end of the PS4 generation or even now a year and a half after the PS5 was released. However, the devs are not forcing us to buy yet another updated GTA V and we can choose to avoid it if we so desire.

I suspect that Microsoft after purchasing Zenimax and Activision are done. Microsoft needed games and it now has enough working studios to compete with Sony's usual output if it so chooses. Buying studios is one thing, operating them successfully is another. Sony meanwhile is doing what it does best, expanding organically, through collaborating and purchasing established studios, ones that shore up a particular area Sony perceives it needs to focus on. Of the two strategies, MS is rak...

Sony is doing fine as it should because the focus is always 'Games'. There are many releases coming in the next few months. I haven't stopped playing since say one of PS5 and I have releases backed up to play. What else do gamers need? Silly article.

Its beguiling that there so many IPs have not been exploited beyond PS3!

'Resistance', 'SOCOM', 'Splinter Cell' are the obvious ones that ought to have seen more games on the PS4 and beyond but also 'Castlevania', 'Dead Island', 'Silent Hill'. All of the above still have fans and could be on the PS5 as new entries of old favourites or complete reboots. 'Resistance' trilogy could be released as a remaster and pav...

I can't see how anyone can tell at this time. It is too early in the new generation. I admit some of Ryan's decisions are worrying but given that Sony had a major issue just a generation before the last with the PS3, I am sure Sony will not be seeking a repeat of what occurred then. Also this gen, MS has shown that it intends to invest in new games and IPs so if Sony betrays its gamers, Microsoft will gain.

I like my games long and full of different things to do.

To be honest, Microsoft will ruin the Zenimax studios if they follow their usual pattern of running first party developers. Unless they have learnt something from Sony, I see a situation where all the promise will disappear, ruined by the usual North American Corporate Bullshit of wanting to please investors at the end of each financial year.

As for any future Zenimax games on PS5, we will get the ones that have been contracted for, such as Starfield and Ghostwire Tokyo ...

Microsoft spent $7.5b just to get to a point where it has now got about the same number of first party studios as the market leader Sony. The difference is that Sony worked with most of their acquisitions prior to purchase, had a good relationship and understood what made that particular studio special. The studios were pretty much left to themselves even after purchase with the exception that each now had access to the full resources of SIE and so a substantial development by one studio co...

Bungie did well enough on their own long time ago. The Marathon and Myth franchises were successful and Halo was just awesome. I wish they would go back to being the company it was then. Being tied up Microsoft while giving us some more successful Halo games definitely took something away from the studio and then Destiny was not the game it should have been even after it had left MS.

I am sure Bungie will create another major IP that will return it to the heights it had ...

There it goes! Codemasters is doomed! For years now all I have ever seen EA do is buy up a successful developer that has one or two really successful franchises with a brace of other smaller game IPs, and then promptly ruin the developer to oblivion.

Codemasters - Sayonara!

I don't mind if they delay until the autumn as I still got so many games to play from the 2019 and 2020 back logs. With the new Yakuza lending on PS5 in March, there are just so many long games to play.

Frankly, the devs should have delayed the game for as long as it takes. There just isn't any excuse. As for critics, I for one have never bought a game based solely on a critics view as many of them lie or have vested interests. Those who can should return the game and get something else to enjoy over the holidays.

I hope it is a new game for Sony or his own studio. Time he returned to creating an epic storyline with memorable characters. I still enjoy playing MG4 and 5 on PS3 and PS4 respectively and both together with the MGS 3 versions are very much games of a unique vision.

None of the new games mentioned will be available before 2022 and that is if we do not have the same issues encountered before - delays, interference and cancellations.

Hey, I am a PS5 owner and a die hard Sony supporter but I do want the Series X to succeed as I see competition and variety as a good thing. What I don't like about Microsoft is the unwillingness to do it through risk and reward. It wants to be in the gaming business but does not launch a new console with new games from old IPs or even new games from new IPs! Success in gaming cannot be had by short-cuts.

Good for you - I thought I was the only one playing that way! I love to explore and in games from the Yakuza series, try every mini-game, sub-plots, dishing, etc.

Why don't you write to the person at Sony in charge of VR?

1909d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

It should be wireless and easy to set-up. I liked the original PSVR but after 4 years, it is dated and needs an upgrade fast. PSVR 2 should be out by Holiday 2021 (Holiday 2022 is too far to sustain momentum and I suspect 2 was being designed while Sony was working on PS5). I also hope the Move controllers are replaced with new ones that do the job much better.
