Most of those issues..can be fixed all via a firmware update.
People complain about the small USB opening...well since it only has one USB port wouldn't you need a USB hub anyways?
This game is a must buy for any Wii owner!
People talk like the internet can't get any faster or it can not support it.
Give it another yr or two. Folks in certain cities are already doing 28-100mbps dl speeds.
People talk about HDD failures. How many HDD failures have you had in the last 5 yrs, but were not caused by viruses. I bet not many unless you just dropped it.
I see a future of SSD stored movies and OLED tv's that have ports/docks for SSD drives.
It'll probably take SSD and OLED tech 5 yr...
Regardless the company almost all them throttle back connection speeds from time to time.
Oddly, enough both of those companies are working on 28-120mbps DL speeds through fibre or other means.
I see at least two folks are already misinformed about HD DVD.
It uses a blue laser just like BD. The difference is in how the disc is read by the laser and how it is layered.
If you take away those two things HD and BD become almost the same..especially once BDM hits profile 2.0.
The only HD media that supports red lasers is VMD HD players.
Why not??? This thing is going to sell into the millions once it's released worldwide.
It would be nice if it was a Panasonic BD player and wasn't over priced.
The BDPS300 is notoriously slow and does freeze up from time to time.
A better deal would be a PS3.
It's only profile 1.0 and is currently our most returned BD player.
Germany, ebay your HD DVD unit and buy a Pani 1.1 player today!
It's the only player on the market today that matches the PS3 in movie loading speeds and it has a SDHC slot!
It may or may not. All I know I didn't sell many HD DVD players last week. I only sold maybe 2 HDA3's that week. I would wait until next week sales come out. If it's about the same..I think it's just the retail market normalizing it's self. Most free promo's go until Feb 3rd or 8th.
Our store actually hasn't sold a BD player in ..well I don't know when and this is all because most BD players are free with a purchase of certain HD sets that are on promo.
I think the only companies not doing a free BD player promo right now is LG and Sammy.
Like I said before...don't buy until BD Live hits...or buy a PS3 with dual shock3 which ever comes first.
You do realize BDM has more DRM then what's currently on HDM?
You've even got DRM on top of DRM with BD+ virtual machine DRM on new Fox and Disney movies.
Then you even got stupid region encoding.
The studio's need to get a clue that DRM's do not work and movie lovers/importers hate region encoding.
killer announcement....
4th gen HD DVD players
51GB HD DVD exclusive movies.
Maybe they announce they won over one of the blu studios to go neutral or exclusive.
A big hit would be:
New firmware update allows all HD DVD players to play both HD and BD discs!
All for just $199 bucks..well that would just kill any BD standalone if they did that.
I believe it will have to be a commercial that pulls at the heart strings of America and the...
If anyone goes out in Feb it'll more then likely be Paramount then Uni. But I figure most will stick it out until May.
Dude, you already get that with current BD and HD titles. Most of them except for blockbuster titles either have video or audio issues. Read some HiDefdigest reviews and you'll see what I mean. Your paying $30+ for a title that sometimes has fewer special features then the $19 std def disc. They all have DRM's on them to protect them from being copied. BD discs are even region encoded...for another layer of security.
You do realize you can DL 720p/5.1 movies and you can DL 2...
I tell my customers unless the BD player is free your paying too much. You might as well wait 3-4 months and get a BD Live compatible BD player for about the same price as current models.
Before long though I expect A3's to sell for $100 bucks again...like the old A2's.
Had a customer yesterday tell me the reason he's buying the A3 is because it's $139 bucks or $129 on amazon. Why buy a regular up-converting dvd player (1080p variety) when for $20 bucks more you can get a HD DVD player that comes with 2 free movies..and in some cases 3 free movies.
From what I get he probably won't buy many HD DVD's but he will cont. to buy reg std def DVD's.
We've got a two day sale coming up that will put the A3 at $119.
Thats about $9 buck...
I'm sorry, but the BDPS3000 given away with any Sony promo just sucks balls especially when compared to what's already available from other manufacturers.
The only reason people don't bring it back is because it's free.
If you buy any BD player buy the new Panasonic.
Otherwise wait until BDLive hits this summer.
People call Toshiba cheap?
Panasonic/Sony/Sharp are all giving away BD players right now with purchase of 1080p tv sets.
Please don't double standard this. Everyone is going for broke.
I have customers now that won't buy a Samsung because they say Sammy will just do another free BD promo again later this yr. I would rather companies lower it's BD prices then just give them away because it just hurts my bottom end of my check every two weeks. The only reason we ...
I want the MB Air but I'm holding out for a MB Pro because I need a bigger HDD.
I've got almost 30GB of music now and that would eat most of the 64 SSD drive up.
Even with the 80GB that isn't much more.
Still waiting for the MB pro update.
I'm sorry but movie releases are not tech news. If you want movie releases check amazon and hi def digest.
Are you spewing propaganda nonsense...?
My guess you dislike Apple products for some reason or another.
I remember when folks said the iPod was too expensive and it too would fail.
Folks that buy a Macbook Air want it for portability not editing their next HD movie.
Who would buy a MBA. Someone who travels a lot and uses it for internet/email, chatting, office suite work, coding, writing your next novel and etc...
Anyone that buys a MBA and expects it to ...
