I would be buying a A35, but I need a new laptop more now.
After talking with a ATT fiber installer...I think within 2 yrs DLing HD movies will be the norm.
ATT just installed fiber here with dedicated 28Mbps per house. ATT will also offer VOD in HD and HD TV to all homes in approx. 2 yrs. I was told however you could get whatever speed you want as long as you pay it as the fiber would support way more then 28Mbps. Comcast is rolling out next yr a 100+ Mbps service.
...
I was guessing Wario Ware and RRR(#1).
I agree. I just made a comment about this.
Why don't we use official numbers from both parties??
I like how BD.com is using official numbers from Sony, but not the official numbers from Paramount.
They ended up using whatever a few mags estimated Transformers did and that ranged from 100k-130k.
Maybe a Mac game?
Maybe Mac and PC..
Well I can get the A3 at cost for $169 bucks at my work so I expect the A2's cost to be even less wholesale wise. I'm willing to bet the wholesale on A2 was like $69-80 buxs.
explain?
Because I've read the HD Digest before and normally all dual format discs are same VQ and AQ.
So unless your talking about space on the disc.??
Most folks could careless, unless your using it to backup HDD's on your computer.
Tell me about it.
I'm looking into a 42 or 52LX177 from Toshiba.
or the 46" 46RF350U from Toshiba.
Then I'll add the A30 or A35 to that.
pompoms:
I'm sorry, but Sony commission is always lower then anything else.
Why do you think commission sales folks push the HD A30? More money then the comparable BDPS300 from Sony..not to mention it costs more.
The only time I sale a Sony BD player is when someone wants Sony.
We sell Samsung too but it's not much better then Sony.
Because of the cheaper price of the A30..I'm more likely to sell warranty on the player and a higher end HDMI ...
^^^ Yes, they can be upgraded.
Via LAN update, DL ISO to CD-RW or call Tosh for an update disc.
Firmware 2.5
http://www.tacp.com/tacpass...
"This firmware update adds support for 1080p/24Hz output to the HD-A20 and HD-XA2 players. For the HD-A2, HD-A2W, HD-D2, HD-A20 and HD-XA2 players, it adds more on-screen language display options. In addition, ...
Actually this is what is needed to win over the masses.
For most folks anything over $200 bucks is a think about it purchase.
At $98 bucks..no one cares...plus you get 5 free movies via the rebate.
Perfect player for the Vizio and Olevia people.
Looks like Toshiba got another friend.
$98 bucks...I'm sorry I'm sold.
Maybe my friend will let me use his 10% off Wally World discount...hmmm
Good news is the 5 HD DVD deal is still going on.
It still works for the A2 as well!
Wally World is also selling:
BDPS300 with Gridiron Gang and Open Season $488
HD A3 with 300 and Bourne Identity $298
No, Sony sold FOX and Disney on it's DRM technology.
Which like all DRM's will fail...and then Disney and FOX will blame Sony for not protecting their assets and keeping the disc price high.
"JEWELERY is on clearance."
At Wally World and Target too.
You know who owns Kmart?
SEARS. They merged back on 05'.
Looks like Toshiba getting help from SEARS, Roebuck and Company.
Sony is betting everything on Spiderman3. Thats why you'll see it bundled with PS3's and Sony BD players.
We have 40 BDPS300's with S3 BD movie and special box.
Spidey was ok for me. I'm a big comic book follower, but S3 was just ok for me.
S1 and 2 were so much better..especially in pacing and less corny.
Shrek3 just sucked...I'm sorry but it did.
Transformers on the other hand made me feel good to spend $7 bucks at the theater.
...
That makes sense you take the word of a mag that estimates sales over what Paramount actually says it did.
Think about that for awhile please...
$299 buxs with 300 and BI bundle SRP.
$288 at Wally World
$279 at HHGregg
We actually sell a special BDPS300 with Spiderman3 bundled with it for $499 and you also get 5 free BD movies as well.
It wasn't Universal it was Paramount.
Also why would Paramount lose out if WB went red only?
It would only help the HD format and give Paramount another reason to stay with HD.
Take it with a grain of salt. It was only a few weeks ago rumors went around WB was going red only.
Basically, WB likes how BD titles sell and they also like the idea of a sub-$200 HD DVD player for the masses.
I'm still waiting on Target and BB..to see if they join CC and WM in the $198 HD DVD player sales.
I recently had a customer who was pissed off at BestBuy because all they showed on their TV's is Blu Ray. He wanted to see what regular HD looked liked, not Cars. Our store does a Dish HD feed to all of our TV's with just a few TV's dedicated to HD DVD and Blu Ray formats. Sony must be paying out big bucks for that. They recently just sent us a $20k display full of LCD's and BD players and SS equip. Even with that big display our store still doesn't sell anymore BD players then HD player...
