Yes well my point is Console gamers need to understand where the tech comes from and they need to play their part in supporting the industry.
If Nvidia and AMD GPU divisions go under all of us as Gamers lose.
While xbox 360 and PS3 have some good exclusives. They are also ensuring the industry stays stagnant. Which inevitabally may cause these companies to suffer, in the end losing any of them will be a bad blow to gamers.
Its worth considering what will happen of NVidia and AMD if people stop considering upgrades. To be honest since games are now designed with consoles in mind there is no need to upgrade a PC even from 2006.
In the end this may just lead to bad sales for Nvidia and AMD. Which inevitabally will result in smaller budgets to research in new tech. If things went real bad and the GPU divisions of these companies went under i wonder where the console makers would get GPUs for thei...

With PC you hold onto your older titles when you upgrade. Even if you dont upgrade there always is the opportunity to play next gen games at lower settings, something Consoles will never get. While Microsoft has been battling Sony. Both of them have been incurring nothing but losses.
Valve on the other hand has been quietly building and making PROFITS at the same time. Steam alone has reached a point where nearly 3million users are online at the same time, that easily rivals XBL. Steam numbers have significantly grown compared to the start of this year, where we hardly used to see 2.2-2.3 million people online at the same time.
Its usually a console trend to be getting yearly sequels(basically milking the base), we generally dont like that on the PC. Instead we would like constant support for the older title aka CS, TF2. I am sure none of the PC gamers would have liked it if CS 8 and TF5 would have been out by now.
Newer game should only be released with major improvements. Not like the rehashes lolvision is giving us these days, please do not encourage Valve to go the same way.
Lets hope there isnt a console version, it will just hold PC back.

L4d is the best coop shooter out there, i am not talking about the xbox 360 version, The PC version looks great and mods give the game an extended life. Too bad PS3 only gamers never got to expereince it.

Why compare hardware from 2006 no ones gonna be buying such old hardware.
If you must compare 2006 hardware even then the pc will still win. Hardware far more advanced was already available. Notice how pc gamers were playing games in 1080p even during that time. Consoles still hardly play 5% of their games in 1080p.
Xbox lost really hard when it came to Risen as well, this isnt a surprise. Graphics aside there is no replacing the mouse and keyboard for this game.

The HD platforms "consoles", dont run this in HD, consoles run this in 620p. Any 3-4 yr old PC with a decent mid range gpu will run this in 1080p.
89Usd gpu of today the ATI 5670 runs this in 1080p. Benchmark of a 400usd PC running MW2 in 1080p highest settings 70fps. The same system will be running this in 1080p and at 70f...

It sucks that gamers pay for such stuff, it causes a spill over effect and might end up effecting the PC market.
First Xbox gamers pay to go online (which totally sounds insane).
next they pay 10usd over the PC version.
later they paid 7usd extra each time a dlc came out, this is the 2nd dlc i think.
in total thats 24usd extra for a single game, while being limited by grpahics, controls and no mods(valve games rock with mods).

While black ops is just a MW2 remake there hardly are any gameplay improvements, graphics will look exactly the same as MW2, Moh simply uses the BC2 engine looks the same too. Why buy any of these games seriously?
Yet both are almost the same games as MW2 and BC2. I dont see any reason for purchasing either of them.
With black ops expect to dish out 30-45usd additional for dlc maps people already own in MW2 and MW1 lol.
I dont see anything spectacular about MOH either, Expect BF3 shortly. Ill steer clear of both these games just the way i kept away from MW2.
Multiplats are 95% of the game releases and those are superior on PC, so if that is rubbish...
PC has more exclusives then any console.
By getting a console you are flushing your bucks. Console gaming is far more costly then PC due to:
higher price per game (sony and micro need their cut)
Console games die fast due to no mods (less value for money)
Super expensive accessories (look at the xbox)

Bottomline PC is the ultimate gaming machine.
My laptop with a GTX260m (260M is based on older desktop gpus and in terms of power can be comparable to gpus from 2006) can run ME 2 better then the xbox 360 can. It can run any multiplatform better then consoles for that matter.
