I once told myself that I should check purchase this thing - but I couldn't bring myself to cough up $200 for it. Now that I look back on it, though, I think if it was released for this generation, I might just pick it up. The system is extremely complex.
Depending on the game, I would say that the wait could be justified as long as the game is getting the polish it deserves. There were games in development that people just don't care about anymore (Duke Nukem Forever) which is the downside of excessive development time. I'd say if you're a developing a game for a long time, keep it under wraps so people won't be expecting too much.
I would have loved to see and hear this. There's nothing like old school nostalgia when you have music from great games playing live.
Jim is one short man. Crackdown 2 was awesome - can't wait for it's release.
Couldn't agree more, Chadness.
This game actually looks good. I sincerely hope this one is better than eleven. Oh, how I disliked eleven...
If that game comes out, I'd be very surprised.
The last Pokemon game I played was on the Gameboy Color. Never again.
@Marius
You and I both. Waited a while for a bunch of games. I think the longest I waited for a game, though, had to be Grand Theft Auto III.
I'm not to sure; but the ones they have available now are stereoscopic which is awesome.
They were actually pretty comfy and worked great when I tried them on. Tons of pro gamers wear them nowadays when practicing to release eye strain.
The last one rocked. I hope this one is just as good - I hear they've added a lot of tech to this year's release. Hopefully, it's something that doesn't ruin the overall gameplay.
Great review. I'm really wondering what is going to happen with DLC. I heard one of the team members say something about adding fights with other titans... but how the heck will that play out?
I'm really curious to see what Santa Monica Studio has next on their to-do list.
That's because it's just one of those moments that just wow's you. And it will continue to do so until the next big thing drops.
lol You, sir, are absolutely right on all accounts. I loved how these treasure chests were never locked. Makes me wonder whether or not you're taking advantage of those poor people's trust.
I'd have to agree there, sir. Excellent review.
Sadly, I have yet to get this game. Still kind of skeptical, but maybe I'll get it a week or two... just sucks not being able to go to towns - I like talking to random folks with problems. /s
Dude, there's absolutely nothing wrong with consuming beer while gaming, lol. I do it all the time ;) Personally, at times, there's no greater experience than playing a game a bit tipsy. And yea, domestic beer sucks.
But, if I don't find myself choking down a six pack or two while gaming, I usually get me a liter or two of water and chug that down through my gaming process.
This was one complex looking game. Eject buttons? Pedals? Yep, every geek's dream of driving a Mech came to life once Steel Battalion hit retail shelves. Seeing it at PAX was just amazing, personally. It's good to see fans keeping something they love alive.
