The thing is that they don't only need third-party developers to push for games. Sony has a respectable list of first-party developers that can contribute to the software development of Vita games. However, *they* don't seem to be pushing it. And this is why they are at fault.
I wouldn't say that final fantasy is a dying breed, rather a series that has installments that cater to different crowds. Just because you don't agree or like the newer titles doesn't necessarily mean that they're horrid. Its all relative to taste. I loved ff x, yet there are some who hated it. And that pretty much applies to any successful franchise
Good questions. Can't wait to have ME3 -- it looks good. I need to finish the second one... fml.
The game wasn't too shabby, it just wasn't my favorite in the series. I think the biggest problem is that people constantly compare their favorite FF's to every other one. Sure, some won't live up to the standards of your favorite FF, but some people fail to judge the games on the individualistic things it does do well.
I will say, though, that the majority of FFXIII was *slightly* annoying due to some oversimplification that hardcore followers of the series d...
I would have to say that, at this point, with the world being so vast, an MMO of sorts. I'm going to get cursed out for this...
If they don't, you can expect a bunch of sick gamers ramming spiked baseball bats in the rectums of Sega folks.
You know, I was never attracted to Skyrim. However, in the past couple of weeks, I've been hearing and seeing things about this game that has changed my overall perspective of the game. I just wasn't a HUGE fan of the previous Elder Scrolls games; but this one definitely seems to be grabbing all sorts of my attention.
I can't say that I've ever been a fan of the Driver series. Personally, it's never attracted me. I seldom like "driving" games, per se. The only reason I think I'd play Driver is to see what differentiates this game from the rest in the genre. Good review, overall.
Age of Conan *looks* good, but I've never found myself attracted to it like I am to other MMOs (yes, World of Warcraft). But, after looking at a couple of videos and this Savage Coast of Turan pack, I must say that it looks pretty good.
Before I make that jump, though, I need feedback from some of you guys as to whether or not Age of Conan is something that a hardcore MMO player would enjoy?
A great review, indeed. I was debating getting the game. But now that I know that it's a great game, and is filled with naughty, blonde anime chicks, I'm going to buy it. Christ, I sound pathetic.
I too played this at PAX, and it was relatively fun. Of course, the game wasn't appealing graphically, so to speak; but it definitely had moments of "fun." There was little story to the game, from what I recall, and more bug killing which made the game somewhat bland. Overall, though, the score deems the game good and playable. I would definitely give the game a whirl.
If anyone could compete against GameStop, it's probably Best Buy. The reason I say this is because Best Buy is a well-known, and logistically expanded brand/store, that people are comfortable with. Consumers are comfortable with the brand (just look at how much people spend on overpriced GeekSquad priced) and will, no doubt, use it for their gaming necessities.
They pretty much cover just about everything within their store. Having a "gaming section" will proba...
I don't think he is. But it was definitely a great interview.
So your pretty much saying that anyone who justifies their review, and gives it a 1/10, is pretty much doing it to be sensationalists for the hell of it? So, I'm assuming that when people give movies, books, broadway shows, etc. horrible reviews, they just want to stand out? How about taking a second to look back and see their reasoning behind it? You're living by the standard that numbers dictate a review, not that the fact that their opinion merits their overall decision of the qual...
The reports are amazing. Giving a game 1/10 is ridiculous? If a game lacks the polish and quality that it should have, and the reviewer feels as if it didn't deliver as a *quality* product in his opinion, then he has every right to give the game a 1/10. Or should we just sway away from telling the public that a game is horrid, and continue to perpetuate the notion that each game should at least deserve the minimum of 7's, rendering them "good." Absolutely not. If a game isn&...
Sony is great with ideas. The only problem is implementation. I definitely see potential with both NGP/PS3 cross functions; but, personally, I would love is Sony delivered Cross Game Chat -- a feature that has yet to be implemented. This sounds good, though.
Sigh. Everyone has opinions, but people should definitely do some research before saying anything:

Couldn't agree more. The issue, it seems, is people's inability to set aside business. When you're receiving toys, money, trips, etc. from a company, and befriending the PR folks, it's hard to crap on a sucky game because of the whole guilty conscience thing, and the whole "hurting their feelings" aspect. These "journalists" today need to learn to be firm and aggressive -- they're there to report for, and educate, the consumer, not please the companies ...
You can't ever think that even the bigger names don't do things to that extent. The fact that they're being sneaky little ninjas about it brings up a lot of questions. I can't wait to hear some of their responses, if any of them even do respond...
