LOL Agreed on the vulgarity - and I'm the one who made the video. Didn't open the box before-hand which why all the "ums" came into play. Tried to go commando and wing it. For the future, I'll definitely consider looking at the contents before hand and putting together a more concise, less offensive unboxing. But, regarding the accent thing, I'm from New York City. Next time I'll hire someone from New Orleans with a Cajun accent to do the voice over, if you think...
Agreed. I definitely think it's worth the purchase.
StarCraft II is going to be one sexy game. Blizzard has yet to disappoint me with a game. I highly doubt that, after years of waiting, they'll do anything to depress fans.
The unboxing is awesome as well. The dogtag is what I'm interested in, along with the art book. As always, Blizzard knows how to make their fans happy. WoW fans will definitely be doing backflips knowing that a SC2 pet will be included in the Collector's Edition.
Final Fantasy X ftw! FF has brought some memorable moments throughout my years of gaming. FFXIII isn't my favorite of the franchise, but it isn't as horrendous as people make it seem. Nice podcast.
Your logic seems to be out of whack, sir. Consoles have become *a* mainstream in competitive gaming. Sure, there ARE definitely PC games (StarCraft, FPS games, etc) that are played immensely by pro gamers. But PC games never grasped the *console* gaming community with respect to competitiveness - which is a far different niche at this juncture this console gen.
The article isn't coming off as you're advertising. It's basically stating why Pro *console* gamers pref...
The lack of viable communication on the PS3 is definitely a big problem that pushes pros away. Also, competitions tend to hold tournaments to the 360's favor. I, personally, never had any "online issues" on the PlayStation 3; though I will say that, sometimes, not being able to thoroughly communicate (and please don't mention typing messages) can be a bit of a letdown.
However, the one perk that PS3 has over XBL is the fact that it's free. That's a g...
Agreed. Taking into consideration that DCUO sells extremely well (which I don't doubt), this is definitely great news. People who have played the game have said that the game has been amazing. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
Well, that's more because there was "option" with Uncharted 2 for more gameplay modes. Realistically, there was nothing more - aside from what they offered - which could have changed GOW3 so much. It would have been silly to add something that wouldn't work (e.g. multiplayer). In its own right, GOW3 was a great game overall. It had amazing visuals, a good story, good (but familiar) mechanics, a good soundtrack, and, most importantly, fun factor. Gameplay modes are a bit tric...
It's true, dude. It's very true. Honestly, I can see Neil Patrick Harris taking on the role of Spider-Man. He's witty, he knows how to deliver sarcasm, and has that Peter Parker look to him. He's sorta perfect for the role. Only thing missing is getting the Tobey McGuire workout and I think he's gold. Or would you prefer someone like Ryan Seacrest?
It's definitely good. Started a Wargen, and I must say that the story - just the beginning - was amazing. It's definitely a great expansion so far. Looking forward to the full release.
Yea, after messing with the Kinect here in NYC, I wasn't too impressed, honestly. It's not 1:1 as people claimed, and it definitely hasn't showed me anything that I'm excited about... yet. With the Move, Sony seems to understand that although they want to appeal to the casual crowd, they also need to continue providing great games to their loyal hardcore gamers. With what I've seen on their end, it seems to me that they're delivering.
Honestly, the more I see the Move in action, the more impressed I am with it. A lot of people tend to actually compare it to the Wii's controls. But, although the Wii IS a motion controller, I have yet to see it apply its tech onto applications the way the Move has been doing. For those of you who will try to compare both controllers, do yourself the favor and read on the difference in techs. The fact that developers have the option to patch code into current and future games that can mak...
With regards to values, and facts, three systems (although Nintendo is cheaper now) who are sold and valued by their companies by the same price - or close to it - represents just how valuable they feel their consoles are.
The fact that Sony can offer things like rechargeable batteries, a blu-ray player, two controls, interchangeable HDDs, PCM support, a free online service, and third party bluetooth devices for the price that they do when compared to their competitors, it su...
Of course he would.
Realistically, Sony's console has the better value because of what it offers at the price it offers it with. People may disagree (it is N4G), but it is facts. It's not fanboyish talk, but when you compare what each console offers at its price and weigh the value in, Sony does come out on top.
I've always been a fan of the Persona franchise. To see that someone gave the portable version a 10 is extremely refreshing, as I've always, pretty much, loved the series. I sincerely hope a new installment is made for next-gen consoles. That would be rad!
And that's why some folks don't take "games journalism" too seriously. We try our best to spread the content so that people aren't flooded with conference/event news all in one week and then miss what they might deem important.
Been looking forward to the sequel. I was hoping, though, that the game made its way onto the PS3 :P Bastards.
Real issues NarooN? You want to experience characters with real issues, play Xenogears, which revolves around a character suffering from a psychological disorder and trying to find who he is. There are many games out there that instill a sense of realism with their protagonists. It doesn't mean that the games themselves were great because of it. There's much more to a game than a character's personality.
Bullet Points to counteract your Hulk anger:
You sound pretty pissed off at the fact that people didn't like the game. They were real? Yea, okay. And so is John McClane from the Die Hard series. I agree that the story was pretty good, but to say that the characters were awesome because they were "real" is pretty silly. The characters were awesome because they were badass dudes. They killed people who got in there way, and had psychological issues that gave them the "I don't five a f---" attitude.
Not to trash-talk EVERY F2P MMO, but the majority of the ones I've played were never that good. Even some of the ones I've paid for weren't great, but there has been two that actually have continued to peek my interest: World of Warcraft and Lord of the Rings Online. Runescape wasn't my cup of tea.
The idea of F2P seems plausible, but we have to take into consideration what both the company and players who are apart of them get from it. Free play? Sure. But in...
