lol.
the technical aspects of the game are clearly NOT the disappointing parts. did you *really* read the full analysis? if thats the impression that you got from it then you have some comprehension problems. the technical side of the engine is the games strong point - the lighting, the draw distance, the 4xMSAA....the way it all works together to make the lower resolution virtually unnoticable, and to make it look better than nearly all the current natively 720p games.
what a stupid video.
i dont want it to play like COD, i want it to play like a good game should - without input lag, with features that every other game worth their price has, and without bugs.
nothing i suggested changes what Killzone is, it would simply make it better. saying that input lag is what makes killzone 'different' is like saying not being able to maintain a steady framerate makes a game 'different' and should be commended for doing it - its stupid.
@cez of rage,
Bungie wouldnt have sold themselves to Sony. They were with Microsoft, a bigger company, and left because they wanted to be INDEPENDENT. why would they then go and NOT be independent by selling themselves to Sony?
it literally makes no sense.
this is nothing like their deal with Microsoft though, and it gives Bungie ALL the power.
Microsoft OWNED Bungie. Bungie are just PARTNERING with Activision in a publishing deal. 2 completely different things.
Basically, Bungie just dont have to worry about distribution/marketing etc - Activision take care of that. if Bungie dont like the way activision are treating them, they can just release the worst game known to man and say 'there you go Activision, theres your...
one point to note in all this - neither Bungie or Activision have mentioned the PS3 yet.
it could be a formality, but there is the chance that that combined with Microsofts 'Bungie are still one of our first party developers' statement mean that the Bungie/Activision new IP might not be on PS3. IMO its 99.9% certain to come to the PS3, but they have left the door open for it to not be on the PS3.
i would like to know how this deal came about though, seeing as it was ...
more content does NOT mean more play-time or more fun though, thats the thing.
"3. multiplayer DOES NOT EQUAL to more contents! when will people understand? people trying to justify paying $60 for short games with MP is what driving the devs to keep producing them and charge $60 and then charge again later with DLC map packs!"
no, but multiplayer does mean more replayability, and that equals value for money. ive personally put in over 200 hours in Modern W...
no, there is still momentum. your turning speed isnt constant, it starts off slow then builds up, then slows down when you stop. thats momentum.
i do realise that the input lag makes this seem even worse, but the momentum is still clearly present.
1. remove the ~200ms of INPUT LAG. there is no excuse for that amount of lag to be in a standard controller using game.
2. remove the 'dead spots' in the analogue stick movement.
3. remove the momentum based turning/aiming. keep it slower than MW2/quake etc, but remove the momentum - when aiming a real gun you dont have to pick up momentum to turn around, nor do you over-shoot the mark when trying to stop.
4. adjust the POV to be a realistic height.
i will buy a 3D tv when the prices come down AND i dont need to wear glasses to watch it.
until then, 3D is not for me. i appreciate what developers are doing, but at the same time think theyre wasting their time. the games visuals will take a hit, as will the framerate, because the fact of the matter is that the hardware is stressed enough trying to output 720p/30fps, let alone 2 images of 720p at 60fps. expect to see GT5 in sub-HD in 3D.
im 100% expecting a slim 360 + natal + halo reach bundle to coincide with the release of reach, and if they do it will sell millions in the 1-2 months before the end of the year, guaranteed.
i mean ive already got a 360, but i would buy that if the price was right just so i can use my current 360 in my bedroom for streaming media, and then have the slim out in the loungeroom to play games on.
@TheBest:
"Take Halo for an example. The series has multiple new games every year and they're usually quit well handled."
im sorry, 'multiple new games every year'? lets have a look...
Halo: Combat Evolved - 2001
Halo 2 - 2004
Halo 3 - 2007
Halo Wars - 2009
Halo 3: ODST - 2009
where are the 'multiple new games every year' in that list of games? name 2 years in which there were more than 1 halo games released...
@badz149,
no, ODST on Hard took me as long to finish as it took me to finish the others on normal. maybe i should have been more specific, but it doesnt matter.
Halo has ALWAYS been one of the few games that is a genuinely different (and better) game on the harder difficulties, as instead of just upping the damage/health of enemies, it makes their AI smarter. God of War, Uncharted and Co. simply make the enemies do more damage, take more damage before being killed, a...
ODSTs campaign took me longer to complete on hard than God of War 3, Uncharted, Uncharted 2, Heavenly Sword, and MGS4 (minus the cutscenes). but hey, its a 360 exclusive so lets just say its to short while excusing all the PS3 exclusives.
ODST was worth every penny IMO. with how good Reach is looking, the beta looks like itll be worth what i paid for ODST (which is $67 Australian dollars on day of release, which is just over half of the RRP of most 360/PS3 games btw).
no, maintenance periods dont count. Xbox Live is not 'down', its 'down for maintenance'. just saying its 'down' implies that there is a problem with it and it is not working. a company coming out and saying 'we are doing maintenance on our product between x and y hours' is not a problem with the product.
the PSN has had MANY 'down for maintenance' periods, dont pretend it hasnt. a quick google search reveals many planned maintenance downtimes:
the PSN has been 'down' more in the PS3s lifetime than Live has been 'down' overall.
GT5 is not 1080p.
but ratchet and clank and mgs4 are 'sub-hd'.........
how was it messy? lol. it listed your games, and in those games it listed achievements lol.
yet another pointless update from sony, whats that about 6 in a row? sony - you dont need to make us download 150mb and take an hour to install EVERY time you decide to put a new font or background colour in the PS3. we dont care. just wait til theres something worthwhile and give us 2-3 big updates a year.
like Microsoft do.
i bought LBP, had fun for a week, then quickly grew tired of how little pre-made content there was and how simple it was. i dont want to buy a game only to have to make levels to play in - i want to buy a game and have the option of making levels to make the game last longer, but still have a lengthy experience without touching the creation. LBP failed miserably in that regard.
not being a fan of how long it took you to make a single level, with people having to literally spe...
