HAS changed on the PS3! They have made some graphical tweaks but really they have done some things with the pursuit angles to fly balls and ground balls that reach the outfield that really change the way playing defense works. They have also made tweaks to the career modes and managerial system that are a bit smarter. No...there are no sweeping changes that revolutionize the game. But, as a solid title already, The Show wasn't really looking to re-invent itself...just better itself with e...
Some games are artificially extended to make the campaign longer. Either they add "fluff" levels or mundane tasks to give a game an extra hour or two just to meet some sort of industry standard. IMO, the campaign just needs to fill whatever time it has with immense fun. If that happens, I don't complain. That being said, it's great when there are other modes or additions that enhance the gaming time (such as multiplayer or co-op). From what I watched, MoH has an engrossing a...
The streamer said it was basically about 4-5 hours. He played it on normal, but it was about that long. It was pretty engrossing and entertaining, being based on some real life conflicts and situations. But, it is pretty short. That being said the Tier 1 mode (co-op) and multiplayer should extend the life a bit.
I'm thoroughly excited for this one. I LOVED the Darkness in comic book form. Starbreeze did an excellent job of translating the origin story of Jackie in the first game. Now, let's unleash the Darkness so those that aren't in the know about how crazy that power really is can see it for what it is!
I have to say...the SP campaign is pretty good stuff. It is involving because of the fact that it is based on a real story in a real conflict. I am sure that there was poetic license taken, but still it was pretty engrossing. The REAL issue with it...spoiler alert...it's really short. According to the streamer, it was just about 4-5 hours on normal. He actually got the game from Craig's List for about $65 plus s&h. So, it was a legit copy. But, he was finally contacted by EA to re...
this game has issues online. It usually takes them a couple of weeks to iron out whatever bugs they can. Even then, they STILL don't solve all of the problems. I'm hoping that all of the "we got tons of new servers" and "we re-worked all of the online code" stuff from the devs actually proves true in the near future...say by this weekend!!! STILL loving this game though.
that might be of concern is online for the PS3. I hear that the 360 doesn't have that issue. Otherwise, it is a brilliant representation of basketball. The Jordan Challenges could very well get boring (not to me), but after that you can draft MJ to your favorite squad and start his career over there. Plus, the fact that they added all of these classic teams allows some crazy match ups. I ran the 95'-96' Bulls vs. Miami and had a ball trying to shut down LeBron. If you have played ...
Turn it down a level. It starts at DEFAULT and PRO...just put it down to Rookie and Casual (for a fast breaking dunk fest) or even Rookie and DEFAULT. OR...just go into practice mode and get the tutorial for all of the moves...THEN do a scrimmage match until you get used to the controls. I guess VC automatically assumes that most of the customers by now will be returns.
I HOPE that you are referring to bringing the game as close to real life as possible and NOT to Madden. Madden keeps selling football in pieces and has done so for this entire generation. Each and every year is a new "feature" that should really be integral to the core gameplay of the sport, but somehow just gets added. IMO Madden 04 and NFL 2K5 are the best football games to date. Rumor has it that Visual Concepts has been toying around with it's football game since All Pro was...
might think it is sick to get that same enjoyment out of simulating killing in ANY era. I'm not judging you. I am just saying that viewing this in perspective of an entertainment medium AND in the vane that the devs were attempting to deliver. There might be another side. We probably ALL have people who are fighting this war. Do we REALLY know what is going on? We ASSUME that we do, but the news is so censored that we don't really get the gritty truth. Maybe, it was the developers int...
I'LL PASS!!!
All REAL sports are played outside!?!? Or, is it that this is one of the sports where the US shines and you are just hating. Coming from a sports fan...ALL SPORTS...this is ridiculous. People find things to enjoy in the sports that they love. Seeing His Airness take flight from the free throw line with all of the grace with which he did is akin to a great volley from 20m outside of the goal...it's just magic. I watch sports because I know that I will NEVER be as great as those that do it....
could be considered "ball hogs" in their early days because they usually end up on poor teams. Jordan basically carried the Bulls until they could find someone to put around him. Then, he created an Hall Of Famer in Scottie Pippen. Jordan made EVERYONE around him better. Look at the numbers of his teammates while with the Bulls and then when they subsequently left. Across the board, except maybe Steve Kurr, they were down. All NBA "stars" get calls. That's the league a...
Some devs actually DO provide more than just roster updates. The subtle nuances and tweaks are what make the sport fun. The closer that the game gets to the sport...the better the game usually is (at least for sim heads). So, to answer your question....MILLIONS of people! See Madden, FIFA, and NBA2K sales for the specifics. In a sports gamers opinion, they would say "who the hell buys COD every year...it's just another gun game." I say to each his own. It's your money...enjo...
Cross genre comparisons don't really work well. So, the standard would be whatever game IGN felt was the best sports title or even better which basketball game was the best. In their opinion, 2K11 made some huge changes that made the game the best at what it does...basketball. I can respect that. I can also see how it might at first look like they are saying that 2K11 would be better than Castlevania by that score. But, they are simply saying that 2K11 is as close to a perfect basketball ...
can be a bit daunting in the beginning. It is tactical and as such requires real teamwork. I am sure that at the new price point there will be many new adopters that try to employ run and gun tactics from prior experience with shooters and they will get frustrated. Not really from the gameplay, but from the lack of progression that comes with that style of playing. However, IF you play the game the correct way...which is find a role and play that role in obtaining objectives...you will be rew...
Wang is the guy behind many of the innovations at 2K. In somewhat of a coup, EA pretty much swooped up Wang from under VC last year and he was at the helm of Live 10...which most would say is the best that it has been in years. However, Wang was really never happy at EA (rumors about creative restriction abound). For whatever reason, Wang left EA and returned home to VC and EA was left with a pretty good framework for a game...but they ripped it up and started anew. Thus, you have NBA Elite 1...
Preferences are one thing. I have no beef with anyone that chooses one NBA game over the other for whatever reasons. That being said, Elite is pretty much a step back once you take to the court. The controls are pretty good and an interesting twist on total control from the past. However, the actual flow of the game and the way it plays is NOT representative of NBA basketball. There's a severe lack in the variety of animations. You can literally shoot 100% from the 3 pt. line if you are g...
the most sensible comment comes from a person with the tag Cock4Gamers! LOL I am an American that was pretty much raised overseas. Started playing soccer when I was 6 in the US. Then, when I got overseas I learned to appreciate the fluidity and precision of the sport. I always wanted to play American Football as well. But, I was far too slight and there was no teams for high school. I did play in a flag football league (flags to compensate for teens playing with grown men). I can say that the...
It's not about the devs not understanding the PS3 architecture so much as it is about having the time to maximize the code for the things that the PS3 can do the best. None of the multiplatform devs have that extra time, and financial resources to exploit the PS3. It doesn't matter how strong the developer. If they don't have the time and money, then the 360 will probably ALWAYS look a little better. That's truth...no fanboy nonsense or name calling. It's just the state of...
