I understand and agree with the statement. However, how does he blame video games. That is an issue with the STUDIOS! Maybe if Hollywood wasn't completely devoid of creativity and ideas then someone might come along and make a movie that actually appeals to this "mindless" demographic? Movie studios have ALWAYS catered, in some small way, to the young male who is more prone to watch vicarious violence over melodrama. Now that the young male has found a way to get his vicarious v...

Actually, it's quite finished. BUT...it is just so HUGE! There is so much game that it was hard to polish everything to absolute perfection. It's not like the game is BROKEN...it's just not PERFECT after the wait. It's a great game that falls below expectations. It just so happens that those expectations have been going on for about 4 years...so you will get more complaints about minor details.

@ Omega
It's not unlocked like an RPG. It was a design decision to keep the frustration level low for those people that might be newer to the game. The damage isn't just cosmetic. It effects the way the car drives. Driving in GT is hard enough...let alone driving with altered or damaged car physics. I guess Yamauchi decided that level 20 was the perfect place to challenge drivers with damage. We might not agree, but that is the reason nonetheless.

Ummm...no! Why don't you just come down off of your elitist high horse and realize that those words are no longer JUST part of the "ghetto" or urban vernacular. Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb don't use DUDE or DOG or LIKE?? I've even heard local newscasters and those on CNN giving SHOUT OUTS??? In fact, I would say that urban and hip hop culture has bled over into society so much that the average person has NO IDEA how much of common language (what we speak when we are NOT...

I think that a LOT of companies are still living in 2007 and are still managing their strategies around the idea that PS3 is not profitable. The smarter ones have recently started to see that there is money to be made and are trying to support on an equal basis. Those being EA and Ubisoft.

Why shouldn't he or anybody else be frustrated with getting the short end of the stick when it's obvious that the ports could at least be on par!?!? There are NO excuses after you have at least one game under your belt! It's just a combination of apathy and laziness with publisher pressure.

It's NOT! Seriously, it takes a fair bit of skill to draft in a VW Bus that only gets up to about 55 mph...with no ABS. Feels like driving a tank around tight corners. Plus, if you go off track or bump too much...you are disqualified!

This is probably part of a license test early on. I watched a stream of a guy repeat this several times. So, I am sure that it is early in terms of leveling. PD went out of their way to make GT a bit more accessible this time around and not totally frustrate possible new gamers. So, damage effects and rolling over (I think) are limited to higher levels.

WRONG!!! GT PSP was and is a great handheld driving sim. Can you name another one?? It's visuals are slightly better than those that were found on PS2 (which is on par with most PSP games). The driving itself is pretty spot on. The only thing that it was missing was a career...which was done on purpose to support the bite-sized gaming that PSP is known for. I won't dispute your opinion on Forza 3...that's on you.

Guess Gamestop just donated a crap ton of sales to WalMart!?!? Their loss because the average gamer doesn't really care where the game comes from...as long as he/she can get their hands on the title as soon as possible!

Chuck D of Public Enemy fame once said "Don't believe the hype"! This is the key to this unfortunate circumstance of this new generation. Companies have learned that HYPE sells games better than QUALITY. What incentive does a company have to improve quality when they know that they can sell crap tons of games that are mediocre or broken? Even reviewers are too scared to point out how bug ridden or just plain crappy a game is for fear of losing exclusive access to future content....

That was pretty much KILLED with the sequel to the sequel to the sequel mentality that has plagued the industry this gen. Because companies really don't want to take the financial risk on new IP's, they have begun to sequel us to death. Since the assume that MOST of their sales come from repeat business, they feel that there is no need for a timely demo. Unfortunately since the average consumers are mostly sheep, they will buy anything with the proper name attached...quality be damned...

After reading the article provided by the link (not really paying attention to the video), I can understand the morticians sensitivity to the situation. However, with that being said, the bottom line is that this commercial shouldn't be any more offensive than the average war movie commercial. What about commercials for NCIS, Detroit 1-8-7, CSI, etc. that ALL feature prominent gunplay to entice viewers towards some promise of vicarious violence? At this point, it seems like the en vogue t...

has been part of the GT5 campaign for the last year. They have had demo pods at many races. The last 2 races have featured cars that have been painted with the GT5 logo. GT5 doesn't really NEED a huge campaign to sell. It's already got it's customer base salivating like Pavlov's dogs. Now in terms of NEW customers, they will have the usual day before launch Sony campaign. That's pretty much been the Sony way as of late...unless they are going head up with MS for a multipla...

I think that people forget that PSP is Sony's 1st attempt at getting into the portable market. Therefore, it was like a gateway for them. It was a tad misguided in it's aim. The Jack of all trades mentality was ever present. However, it was and is still a great handheld system that can more than hold it's own with it's nearest competition. The difference being that the competition has had an over 10 year head start to get things running smoothly. PSP2 should be interesting as ...

But, there IS a difference. This being that Sony is trying to position itself in the motion gaming market. This mean that they DID indeed need to attract the casual gamers. Thus, a lot of the releases are aimed at them. However, they also included Move support for many or there core experiences (good or bad). Which give the perception, at least, that they are NOT totally focused on motion gaming to take them into the future. MS, on the other hand, has put a $500 million budget an tons of reso...

SOME gamers DO enjoy realism in their games. Now, true enough, we don't want absolute realism. But, there are realistic things that we want in games. Look at the average sports title. They are constantly trying to walk the line between simulation and fun. The same can be said for FPS games. I understand that gaming isn't meant to be reality. However, there are some gamers that want a realistic experience in their games. I guess that's why flight, farm, and train simulators tend to...

Way to show appreciation for someones long hours and hard work. Just because they aren't lifting and laboring in the sun doesn't mean that the work can't be grueling just the same. We should be happy that they are continuing to support the game at all. In today's industry, it would be much easier to just drop the game on our collective doorsteps never to be touched again (even by a patch in some cases). Would I like to have a map a month? Sure! But, I don't begrudge the de...
