So...who's the pervert again!?!?
There was a Michael Jackson game in the works before he died. I think it was in anticipation of the This Is It tour (which was bound to do great in England). I don't know if this is the original game (can't remember if Ubisoft was the developer). But, as big of a video game fan as Michael Jackson was...I think he'd probably at least be pleased.
"nothing but a shock value rapper". Sure, the slim shady persona does include shock value. But, not any more shock than the gangster persona of Ice Cube and Eazy E in the NWA days. Em definitely has skills on the mic and the ability to make great records. However, he just made his fame on saying outlandish and shocking things in his records. As for Uncle L, I have the utmost respect for him just because of the roots that he has in the game. He paved the way for artists that came aft...
you have to respect his longevity in the game. LL has been doing this since rap started becoming mainstream music. Sure, he is the self proclaimed G.O.A.T. (which I wouldn't agree with). But, he has been able to survive in an industry that changes over and over (in terms of styles and appeals)and has churned out some hits. Plus, he is probably one of the first to make a true transition into another successful career (not discounting Queen Latifah and Ice T). Love him or hate him, LL HAS l...
2K5 was NOT perfect by a long shot. However, I think that you overshot with the made for 10 year olds comment. The running game was pretty revolutionary with branching animations for moves. There was TRUE gang tackling with no suction tackling. There were varieties of catch animations that Madden is STILL struggling with. Consecutive hit tackles were pretty good in 2K and have yet to be found even in today's Madden. Run blocking was spot on (which Madden came close to only this year). The...
I agree that there was probably a significant bump in sales, initially, from repurchases of the PS3. However, the sustained growth in sales can't be directly correlated to repurchases. It's well known that the 360 was attempting to solve the hardware issues and therefore people were trying to get the most stable console possible. Now, it is probably too early to tell what effect the new 360 model will have on long-term sustainability of sales. As far as the argument of Madden 11 being...
I will say that I can truly sympathize with this author because I am in the same boat. I really tried to like Halo. I remember when it was originally planned for a multiconsole release, before the acquisition of Bungie and the launch of the Xbox. It looked pretty new and interesting at the time. Then, upon it's release I went to a friend's house to see this game in action and get my hands on the controller and I just didn't connect with the game. I DO have HUGE respect for the sto...
praying that the Lakers actually sign him again I would bet!!! LOL
That the natural progression of GTA would eventually be to be able to traverse the different cities of each game. I just think that it would be cool to jump in a jet and fly from Liberty City to San Andreas to Vice City. The worlds are pretty much fully realized at this point. It would really be up to limitations of hardware and programming skills I guess.
that older people have the tendency to do what we do. They keep up with the industry. They are more aware, as gamers, of what they want and what they don't want. Older gamers are probably less influenced by a simple ass-kicking commercial. Now, take the average 12-14 year old and it's totally reverse. Impulse buys and the "needs" of teens are what many companies are marketing toward. Indirectly, they are saying "this is what's new and hot...now tell your parents tha...
Also needs to account for the "gaming drought" that typically happens right before the Fall blast. Sure, multiplayer titles take of considerable amount of time if they are fun and the fun lasts. But, most gamers still have there eyes on one or two releases that will tear them away for awhile. It's just that there is that idea that publishers have about saving games until September or later to get better sales. Plus, there is the fact that so many devs are attempting to shoehorn ...
I think that the slide works pretty well...just use it in spurts instead of full on. For the ammo count, there is a small meter as part of the HUD when you actually use the zoomed aim. Can't remember if it's there otherwise. But, it does tick down as you use ammo. I'm actually loving this. It's pretty cool to finally get some speed with the cover system so that it's not just pop and shoot gameplay over and over again. The first time I attempted the boss battle I actually h...
it was just the way that they were playing the game, but it DID look very familiar. The ping-pong passing that they supposedly addressed was still very evident. Game still looks good, as last years game was great. But, it's a tad disappointing not to see a difference. Guess I'll wait to judge until I get a demo.
When they admit that they have been taking pieces of 2k5 to add to Madden and STILL not quite hitting the that magical bar...I will be more inclined to agree. The real issue with Madden, IMO, is that the engine is still an upgrade from last gen. Sure, it is flexible enough to add some physics...but that's not enough. The legacy issues are still ever present. Suction blocking, morphing, Skynet defenses, etc. are just now part of the game that Madden gamers except. This is simply because th...
Logano is a pretty good all around driver. He is one of the NASCAR drivers that doesn't sit out on the road courses and let someone else get his points for him.
MAINSTREAM rap is stale...the culture of hip hop is so entrenched into our everyday lives that you can't even really recognize it anymore. The expressions of graphic artists in advertising and marketing is unprecedented. Hip hop dance classes are all the rage with suburban soccer moms. Listen to your newscasters, in the US at least, and you are bound to hear some phrase that is indicative of hip hop's mark on American culture in general. As for the music, true hip hop fans have always...
On the technical side, FIFA has surpassed PES for probably this entire console generation. I usually play both games at some point every year, and have been one of the many converts to FIFA. However, PES does have a certain appeal to it. Especially in the gameplay area. IF PES can get it right this year (fingers crossed) I would be ecstatic. That would keep pressure on EA to KEEP innovating in FIFA and give soccer (sorry rest of the world...football) gamers a choice...which is always a great ...
However, I don't agree with the assertion of the author of the article that "just a game" is not a valid argument if it comes with some explanation. Using a nonchalant "it's just a game" does indeed become convenient. But, then again, so does the scapegoating of games when the media needs something controversial to pad it's mediocre reporting. I see cowardice on BOTH sides. Those gamers that can't gather enough intellectual fortitude to actually defend the ...
That anyone has to be called an intellectual coward because they used the defense that it is just a game. Now, if that is the ONLY defense then I can see the argument. The phrase "just a game" simply means that at the end of the day it was created first and foremost for people to enjoy. Now, if there are some more redeeming qualities that one can get from it. Then, that's like the icing on the cake. "Just a game..." is simply saying let's keep this in perspective. ...
If you have never played an NBA 2K game, then there is really an adjustment period. You have to get used to the way that this particular game flows and it's subtle nuances. It's not like the old video game basketball where you can just come down and shoot, shoot, shoot. It takes into consideration player tendencies. Can a player shoot off of the dribble. Can a player post up or turn around jumper. Does the player have a quick first step or killer handles. Running with Kobe for every p...
