If it does happen - which I'm not holding my breath for - it would give me a reason to wipe the dust off the game. Online co-op would be such a breath of fresh air to this game. Hell, I might actually enjoy the campaign for once.
And the controls don't suck, but they certainly don't rock either.
Saw a video. Looks beyond boring. I won't be paying to unlock a feature that's already on the dam disc.
Overall, I find the sixaxis unnecessary, with the exception of Flower and Flow and a small handful of other games. That Game Company seems to have made it their mission to show other devs the proper way to use the sixaxis and I applaud them for it. And MGS4 - I loved disengaging my camo in the middle of a cutscene with a simple shake of the controller. Very cool. Also loved it in Heavenly Sword. Twing-twang - despite sounding like something two naughty lesbians would do - was a lot of fun. <...
If GTA4, ME1, AC1, Bioshock, RE5, and Fallout 3 aren't proof enough that DVD is still alive and well and NOT holding back gaming, then I don't know what else to say. And I'm not just talking about game length or complexity and neither should you (ahem, Killzone2, ahem).
I have no doubt that eventually gaming will exist solely on larger capacity discs, but can't you guys just be excited about AC2 for ONE SECOND before you start the fanboy war? Before you start the holier-than-thou...
That might be why I turned off the in-game soundtrack. No thanks on the metal.
I'm with Why Dis on this one.
This shooter sounds like it has potential. It's refreshing to hear a developer's approach to a war game with context and reality in mind, beyond just the frenzy of war. They're trying to do something important and respectful with this and that has to be appreciated. And for some lame, super-duper douche KZ fanboy to just dismiss it is so typical.
If you honestly think KZ is the greatest shooter ever made, then you have my sympathies. And...
I clicked before checking the link. He tricked me again! KHAAAAAN!!!!
I see your points. I would never say RE5 has the greatest construct of any game. Never would I say that. You're right - it's lacking in organic movement, interactivity, weather, physics, etc. But in terms of raw gorgeous graphics, nothing compares IMHO.
Given that hype is usually empty, it makes sense that the graphics and gameplay got the hype. ....think it through.....
And the purpose of hype is to MOVE UNITS. Hmm.... So much to consider. Or not.
I'm also at work and don't want to get fired, but props for bringing some sanity to this BS. Just like custom soundtracks, the x chat and party system are brilliant, and only reason the PS3 cult doesn't appreciate it is because they haven't experienced it. When they do, this song will change drastically. And like the men we are, we will welcome them and not wag our fingers saying "we told you so."
You just can't resist being a douche, can you?
Definitely going to check this out. And then I'll be getting back into Braid on Xbox Arcade - the service with nothing worthwhile; certainly nothing award-winning to be found there.
And on screen, RE5 is currently the prettiest game. Look at those cutscenes. Look at those character models. Done and done. In a year Killzone will be forgotten by all except the most loyal of supporters. Uncharted will impress, but unless they've gutted the thing, it's still going to play loose and twitchy.
That's the dumbest, most assuming statement I've ever heard. I love my 360 just as much as I loved my PS1 and PS2. Of them all, my PS3 has provided me the least amount of thrills. Unless I count watching blu-rays.
So if that's you trying to sound smart and clever, stick with ignorance. It seems to be your default.
And for the rest of you: .......... that's the sound of the world's smallest violin. It's been playing for the PS3 cult a lot lately.
The Japanese especially have always been much more into rape-themed entertainment than most. From their porn to their hentai games, this theme is rampant. I'm not excusing it. Just saying that this is the latest in a long line of games that are already ever-present and very easy to find on the internet.
Yeah, a Halo RPG ala ME would be stellar. And I love the idea of a 3rd person GRAW-type game in the Halo universe. Not sure about the space sim - it'd have to be done very right. Although it reminds me of the glory days with X-Wing and Tie Fighter. I'd love to have an epic, galaxy spanning story with you at the helm of an elite UNSC fighter.
Please feel free to insult, bash and otherwise ridicule the 14 cents per day we pay for XBL. We don't mind. I'd tell you this over voice chat but...you don't have it.
Excuse me while I go play Gears of War 2 as I wait the required twenty minutes for my PS3 to download and then install an update that is utterly worthless.
But it's fun to watch the PS3 cult whip itself up over this.
I will stand in line for a week to get my meaty digits on this piece of bada$$. With or without games. I just want it sitting next to my 52" Aquos, right between my 360 and my PS3. Like a referee during a hockey game, holding the sluggers apart.
Atari, I heart you. If only the console had a fleshy automated orifice that I could physicalize my affection with. Now THAT'S next gen.
I highly doubt the PS3 will ever feature backwards compatibility again. With the PS2 price drop and PS3's not selling the way Sony hoped, they need every console to produce their profits for them. Thus forcing people to the PS2 if they want to play PS2 games.
As for the software updates, PSN feels like a skeleton compared to XBL. People will always b!tch about paying for XBL, but a free piece of sh!t is still a piece of sh!t. And that's just an analogy. The PS Store isn't too bad...
