If the argument against games as art comes from the collaborative process, then you've effectively written off all of cinema and television, and anyone who enjoys either of those mediums will tell you how BS that is.
Games certainly have the potential to be art; it's a matter of content. It's Shadow of the Colossus vs. DOA Beach Volley Ball. I love them both, but only one of them moves my heart.
They don't seem to post very often.
I don't know what happened in the last three years, but the majority of you are on something entirely different. I too am a first gen PS3 owner, got it not long after launch. It looks beautiful sitting next to my 360 Elite. And never during these three years have I seen anything on either system to make me believe the gap between the two is as vast as the fanboys want to believe. It's mass delusion on an incredible scale.
Yes, Gears put out bullshots for Gears. Yes, Killzone put ...
It's rare to find a news article on N4G that's actually worth reading. I'm interested to see where this tech goes and how (un)affordable it will be.
Another douchebag ignored.
Let's find out. Someone break out the ban-hammer please.
His utter silence is admission that he's nothing more than a sad, lonely troll.
For my part, I loved RE5. Despite the controls. Despite the near-impossibility of connecting to my friend for co-op (looks like certain providers or routers use a firewall or something that stumps Capcom's setup; I spent hours trying to connect to one friend, then got an instant game with another; not excusing it, but it's not an across-the-board problem). Despite the QTE. Despite the lack of story. Despite the horrible voice acting.
I loved this game. Played it four times. Infin...
That would make sense. And you didn't butcher it too badly.
As gamers, we should carry a healthy dose of skepticism. It's too easy to see 256 multiplayer and get swept up. The size of these matches is not enough for me to say "day one pick-up". I'm with the author: just because the game can support a lot of people doesn't mean it's going to play well. In fact, it instantly makes me assume otherwise. Which is why I'm very curious to see gameplay footage.
If they pull this off, however, it's going to be awesome. A definitive step ...
Trolling for hits? Flamebait? Presumptive?
Imagine what kind of a gaming world it would be if Microsoft HADN'T had to deal with the RROD? You're looking at the success of the 360 despite the technical factors. How successful would it have been if it had been as reliable as the PS3?
Dare I say it, the PS3 owes a lot of its success to Microsoft's "faulty tech". The PS3 cult can ridicule it all they want - but it would make more sense for them to be thankful that the RROD happened.

Seriously though, I'm surprised to find a thread where the xbots just have to heat up a bag of popcorn, sit back, and watch everyone else fight it out. Very refreshing. Look at the sony boys running around like chickens with their heads chopped off...
Perfect end to a Friday.
Winner: HDMI
I watch on a 52" Aquos and the difference between HDMI and Component was never more clear to me than when I changed my Dish Network output to HDMI. Dish has a crawling logo on the screen when it's turned off and with component, that logo, which is the word DISH in red lettering, was very blocky and compressed. Then I switched to HDMI - and the blocks were gone. The logo is now pure, smooth, clean red. Add to this the ability to transfer uncompressed audio and yo...
Yeah, that train map looks sick. I'll check these out if they're free.
It's the best when the PS3 cult plays the faulty hardware/RROD card. They say it with such snide derision. What none of them realize is that they should be on their knees kissing the feet of the RROD. Because if it weren't for that massive clusterf#ck, the PS3 would have been dead in the water before it even set sail.
Great posts! Have bubbles! (Have you noticed people who try to be fair and balanced always end up with low bubbles? Weird...)
It takes a couple hours to get used to the combat, but once you do, it's second to none.
And this needs to be retitled. They're not screenshots. I love the artwork though. Excited about the new environments. The atmosphere looks sick.
