This kind of holier-than-thou attitude is a great way to bring people into the fold.

Intro says "the question is what drives these people to find these games and attempt to destroy them?"

Should also ask: "what drives those other people to worship and revere these games and attempt to sell them on the gaming populace as the greatest game of all time?"

KZ is a good game. It's not sh!t. It's also not perfection. Let it go.

I see your point, but Sev isn't hollow enough. Especially in the last act of the game. The sweeping emotional subtleties of the squad left me uninterested in them as characters. And for Sev's "rousing" speech as they commit to the last battle is hardly something a faceless, hollow avatar would give. From his haircut to his voice, I didn't much care for Sev and it bothered it broke from 1st person to show him in a cutscene.

Gordon Freeman is the pinnacle of this notion -...

Can we all take a long, hard look at the picture in this article and finally admit KZ did NOT achieve the target it set out for itself? This is clearly from the trailer. No where in the game do the character models look this good.

Look at the section where the woman's head pops open, attacks Chris, and is then shot by Seva (is that her name?). Look at the close-up of the gun firing. Much more volumetric smoke on the 360. And a little later there's a chopper flying through the sky and the 360 side has better/more abundant cloud formations.

Plus, I like the contrast level better.

For starters, the headline is misleading. But I think the point might stands, simply because the two consoles would be on par. As is, KZ2's dominance is much more opinion than fact. But I wonder, derived from a PC engine, would this interface more easily with the 360? Or would this make the PS3 easier to program for?

It's a little annoying that the media won't attribute the success of Halo Wars to Halo Wars. "It's selling well? People must not understand what the game is!"

As many have said, gamers aren't easily duped (except with KZ - haha, j/k!). To not know that Halo Wars isn't an FPS would be incredibly hard for even the most casual of gamers, even if all you do is check the back of the box. I didn't have high hopes for this, but then I played the demo, and two hours later I was...

I have both systems and services: a 360 Elite with 120gb and a launch PS3 with 60gb. I already download BSG religiously from XBL. I'll check it out once it goes up on PSN and compare the two.

My expectations: this might be just my connection, but my 360 downloads much faster than my PS3, both hardwired to a 16mbps fiber-optic. Basically, once a download on my 360 reaches 3% I can start watching in real-time.

One thing that bothers me about the PSN - it's movies anywa...

But looking at these games and seeing the snippets from Alan Wake over the years, I don't think it's going to be the graphical powerhouse many have been saying. I expect it to mirror KZ, in that there will be a slew of fanboys proclaiming the game's dominance over all others, but in reality, it will be just another good game. And I say that with all affection possible. There's nothing wrong with being a good game. That's why I like KZ.

The demo for Riddick is very enjoyable.

Lest your forget the original SixAxis, without rumble, because rumble was "so last gen."

Or because Sony stole the tech from a 3rd party and didn't want to bruise their egos by paying the licensing fee. Yeah, kudos on that one.

Being raped by MS is like being raped by Adrian Lima. I want more. Lots more.

RE: Alan Wake
"We dont know nothing about this game, apart from a bit of info and a cgi trailer. How on earth can you say this will be game of the year?"

These words could have applied to KZ2 four years ago.

I'm loving the slew of flamebait on this site lately. It's so enjoyable to sit back and watch the Sony fanboys (we need a good nickname for these guys, something as powerful as xbot) respond to an article about how KZ is nothing but graphical chea...

To quote the article:

There will always be "people who just hate it so much for an ignorant petty reason."

Kind of like the people who blindly love it for an ignorant, petty reason. Like the fact that it's the console's first killer app, received more hype than Jesus, and has been unnecessarily blown by almost every reviewer out there.

BTW, it doesn't live up to the spec trailer from five years ago.

Reposting. That's so clever. Except when your post is at the bottom of the page. Then it's just sad and pointless.

The more you scream and shout, the more you validate and lend credence to articles like this. As much as you guys b!tch about flamebait, you sure love responding to it. =)

Carry on.

I hate the DS for FPS. Love it for basically everything else. And the PS3 seems to be going more in the FPS genre. Which is frustrating given how poorly the controller performs with this type of game. I hope the FPS controller hits soon. Joystick + mouse = greatest FPS controller ever.

I have no problem with a challenge, but it should come from the gameplay/design, not from a frustrating control scheme. And in terms of actually firing a gun in real life, yes I have, yes it's tricky, but I'm not a battle-hardened marine dropping down to a distant enemy homeworld. I'd imagine they have a better familiarity with their weapon and tactics. And I expect to feel that when I play.

That's the idea of immersion: to remove as many barriers between the player and the chara...

The controls are definitely keeping me from enjoying this as much as I should. Jumped onto the Riddick demo last night; even that controls tighter than KZ. The right stick feels very lazy. For a game about "total immersion" I'm disappointed in the lack or precision aiming.

In terms of auto-aim, I never had a problem with this. It's a conceit, given that joysticks are less accurate than a mouse. If that PS3 attachment ever comes out, it should make this game more enjoyab...
