If that's sarcasm, then kudos. If that's sincere, then its disgusting.
I too am a patriotic American - though I feel IsthisWhereIwrite jumped a little too righteously at that - and I'm constantly amazed and dismayed by the western aversion to sex. It's kind of disgusting that on any given night of television you can turn on one of the major networks and have a pretty high chance of seeing a dead body. Doesn't matter how graphic it is. It's still death. Most of the times it's violent death. And we're okay with this? But none of these netwo...
This is such an idiotic comparison.
Shame on you. These are exactly the kinds of discussions we should be having. We can't call games art and then excuse them from the debate about what is tasteful or not. Kudos to the writer for a thoughtful and well-written piece.
From what I've seen, 500k = fail on PS3 because the fanboys go apesh!t about how said game will be the most amazing thing since the birth of the sun. As far as I know, no one really claimed or expected SCC to be a blockbuster.
OT: good sales for a good game. Anyone complaining about the "gimped stealth, old tech, etc etc etc" clearly has not played the game. This is a great example of how you don't need bleeding edge tech to make a fun gamer experience. The coop is awes...
Anyone with eyeballs would have to give the PS3 the edge when it comes to graphics. But for my money, that doesn't equate to it having the best games. I'll be picking A. Wake up on day 1 and no matter how long it is, I'm definitely looking forward to my time with it. Remedy's never really let me down before.
Res ranks pretty low on my list of things to care about. Story, gameplay and presentation are the holy trinity. SCC might not be the most beautiful game in the world, but it plays so smooth I don't care how high the polygon count is. Conversely, GOW3 made my eyes bleed but the gameplay made my brain turn to mush.
Resolution is one of the last bastions of fanboys looking to pick a fight. This is like the grade school playground all over again.
Also finishing the coop now and it's kind of the reason to buy the game. Almost twice the length of the SP. The final mission is nothing but epic win. The SP campaign was certainly fun as hell, but you're right, it feels rushed, certainly in the narrative story-telling aspect. I really have no idea what the hell happened, but I also don't care. It was an awesome ride.
People should stop comparing Halo and Killzone. One of them is fun as sh!t, the other is the prettiest engine on the block. I don't really care if Reach looks as good as Killzone 2. I'll be enjoying it regardless. My estimation of a good game isn't in its polygon count.
I would love to see a new Killzone this year. Now that the heavy lifting on the engine is squared away, GG should focus their energy into gameplay, coop and level design. Also, why isn't the KZ engine being outsou...
It's amusing how Team Sony thinks 360 owners are miserable, bitter and bored. Every 360 owner I know couldn't be happier with their choice of system.
Honestly Sony fanboys - if you're exclusives and your system is so full of epic win, why do you even care about the games/happiness of360 owners? Why do you need them to be frustrated and disappointed in order to enjoy your console?
Well said. Syronicus doesn't even see the irony of his blind loyalty. Always brings a smile to my face.
Um, Halo much?
It's looking good, and I'll definitely be buying this. However, if I didn't have the logitech driving wheel, I don't think I'd be nearly as excited.
Forza was what got me hooked on racing sims, but Forza 3 really disappointed me. Especially after playing NFS Shift. I know Shift isn't a sim per se, but it puts me in the driver's seat better than either of these games and lets me feel like the bad a$$ driver I wish I was.
But then I read IGN's review and they LOVED IT! Given how retarded they are, you know, like saying ME2 is better than UC2, I figured they must be flamebaiting me. I mean, they're total xbots over there! Fanboys to the max! The only reason they'd like this game is to screw with my head. Right? Didn't we all agree that IGN doesn't know what they're talking about?
Sorry. Feels great to be snarky sometimes. But in all seriousness - two hours in and loving it so far.
(I apologize for how long this is, but goddamn...)
First, propose a new system that doesn't involve numbers or grading of any kind. Second, look at the system you've just proposed and realize that without numbers or letters or grades of some kind, it doesn't count as a system. It counts as retarded. Third, realize that you, yourself, are in fact, also retarded.
Critic is short for CRITICISM and/or CRITIQUE. And you can't have a critique without an OPINION. Reviews of...
Such a great examination of what makes this game great and what holds it back. And I completely concur with the author's conclusion.
I even clicked on the link. Sorry.
What should I have found so mind-blowing?
I'm not saying it's not fun (he's backpedalling!). Although, if Kratos had an assault rifle and lived on the Xbox, THEN DIS GAME WOULD BE TEH TRUTH AND I'D NOOB MY OWN GRANDMOTHER FOR A CHANCE TO PLAY ITTTT! I ADDED EXTRA T's BECAUSE I'M SUCH AN AWESOME FANBOY!!!!
Or at least, that's what a lot of you think I mean when I ask a fairly honest and straightforward question.
Didn't the "real Final Fantasy" exist on NES, SNES, PS1, and PS2? Stop being so obsessed with tech specs. Last I checked, FF was a game about story and connecting the gamer to an emotional experience (i.e., Aeris' sacrifice). You don't need hardware for this. Just a story.
