I don't get why this is so hot right now?
Off the top of our heads, every one of us can name ten games with far worse dialogue than this - dialogue that truly deserves to be made fun of. I could give you a manifesto from MGS4. And let's see if any lists go up when RE5 launches. They should. Clearly this author seems to not enjoy the game. But if this is the worst one can gripe about it, I may have to check it out.
And some of those lines actually sound damn cool.
I have to say, hardcore or not, I'm impressed by the maturity of the Wii community on this site. If an article like this had come out about the 360 or PS3 it would have been flame war central. You boys are neither seen nor heard. Milford Men, all of you!
I wish the rest of us could shut the f*** up and just focus on VIDEOGAMES instead of BRANDS.
(Puts on his flame-retardant suit)
Know your facts: 360 updates just like the PS3. Well...not JUST like. When 360 updates it takes at most a minute and it always, always, ALWAYS works the first time.
But, as ofx pointed out, XBL will already be doing that from the new dashboard. So what's revolutionary about Home?
The fact that Home is free is truly awesome and I'm looking forward to checking it out. But I'm certainly not already in love with it. I like what Sony's trying to do but, admittedly, my online experience resides mostly with my 360 and XBL. Honestly, I can see Home being more annoying than efficient. XBL Avatars already kind of annoy me. Just not sure I want a digit...
Has everyone forgotten about the media? First off, there's droves of free TV shows and videos, most of which can be downloaded in HD.
Next, there's the plethora of PPV content, such as movies and more TV shows. All in HD. I downloaded The Orphanage and it was one of the most intense experiences of my life. Never had to leave my couch. Only cost me 5 bucks. Not to mention Battlestar and Lost, should we ever miss an airing. This to me is not something to b*tch about. This is awesom...
Seriously, Jolie is hot if you're into that freaky, sleazy, omg-where's-my-heroin kinda goth chick. This new Lara Croft has eyes that could melt the ice caps and a HEALTHY sexy body, as opposed to Jolie's malnourished, post-preggo stretch marks.
Anyways, I'm in love. If only I lived in the UK.
This makes me want to cry. It's practically a guarantee that these parents have never once played anything in their life.
My concern is that the Wii is going to become Disney and casual gaming will flood the market like mindless blockbusters. Then the real works of gaming art will be relegated (like indy studios and art houses) to the fringe.
It's nice to see the non-/casual gamer's perspective from time to time, but a lot of these reasons are precisely why the casual gaming market annoys me. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose, but consider this: if we hardcore gamers (and the industry that happily revolves around us) annoy you so much, just stop paying attention. Ignore us.
God knows, we ignore you.
Why is this in n4g's top 3?
I love this game. I remember picking it up primarily for the Halo 3 beta and wound up falling in love. Hours of hilarious entertainment with my roommates over co-op.
This is a much desired sequel.
Meh.
But I completely agree with it. Especially the following quote:
"...people who own a PS3 are so dedicated to the system that they will play through garbage and call it a ‘marvelous technological achievement’ that can’t be missed." For me, this specifically applies to Resistance and Uncharted. (for Resistance, "garbage" is a bit harsh, but for Uncharted it's right on the money)
I own both systems, 360 and PS3, and I enjoy them both. But I get much ...
Haven't played Halo since COD4 came out. I'm kinda proud of that.
The author's right - the Appleseed films are soulless. The hottest dumbest girl in the room with a rich, pampered upbringing. I don't know anything about the director, but if he's a no-name, relatively first-timer, then signs are certainly pointing toward lame.
Having said that - I own both Appleseed films precisely BECAUSE they're pretty and vapid. So basically....gorgeous CG zombies in an airport? Count me in. But only on Bluray.
I liked the game, but this doesn't surprise me. To the non-hardcore fan, this game doesn't hold a lot of replay value.
RE is no longer Survival Horror. Silent Hill was the master, especially SH2, but now Condemned seems to be the new kid on the block.
To everyone out there that says just because the previous RE's made you stop and aim so should this game, that's just dumb. Games evolve. By your logic, it should still look and sound like a PS1 game then. The fear shouldn't come from your frustrating inability to control your character realistically (that's what we like to call CHEAP), but from leg...
Yes, TV's upscale but that don't mean a thing compared to the full resolution of Blu-ray. The difference is quite noticable. Having said that, my 360 Elite already upscales DVD's, and the render is quite smooth. So smooth in fact that sometimes I forget I'm watching standard def.
Anyways, someone's facts are quite messed up here. Bottom line is that the 360 already upscales DVD's.
PS - I hope this goes without saying, but everyone should be planning on seeing The Dar...
Absolutely splendid.
All the buttons are pressure sensitive (except the shoulders). They have been since the original xbox controller.
