Holy thesaurus, Batman! This post feels like they wrote a normal piece and then had a program insert more unique words in the place of common ones. I'm an English major, so I appreciate a varied vocabulary, but this read very...weird.

To the article, it is a strange situation. I can't believe a studio would close down without providing any support unless they were financially unable to, as you'd expect that work would be covered under their contract. I'll be...

Nailed it. Though he made so much money, he actually hired developers to help create more content and also a porting studio to get it to other platforms. He still raked in enough that he can keep giving away updates for free.

It's a similar thing for Hello Games. They were a very small studio and they shifted millions of copies of NMS at AAA retail release prices (as opposed to smaller units of a $20 games like Joe Danger). Now, I'm sure it being Sean's dream ga...

I feel like that's how people react to any Smash typed fighting game. I thought PSASBR was actually pretty good, I had no idea why people dunked on that game so much.

Though Showdown will obviously have a smaller roster, it also looks pretty decent - I'll be curious to see what the larger consensus is as this is one of the first reviews I've seen for it.

If cost was no object, I'd agree that maybe we're too close to the PS5 to go for a PS4. However, plenty of people just can't afford to buy the newest system and the newest games at $60 a pop. A PS4 Slim with the 3 "Only on PS" game bundle for $200 is an amazing value. There are then plenty of games left to go back and play at very affordable prices.

There aren't even any ways to buy a new PS3 or Vita at this point (aside from maybe eBay at jacked u...

If they're all in on it, they've done a pretty incompetent job by keeping the game at an 82 media and 7.3 user score on MC lol. I mean, if they were going to go all out on all fronts to make this game look better than it is, why stop there?

Losing the traffic from trolls would be statistically insignificant for them when they are getting millions of page views. User scores can be counted in the hundreds or thousands, and troll reviews would only be a fraction of those - they won't miss them.

Especially as it would make the overall scores more in line with actual public perception, and would lead to less people putting in faker 10's to "offset" the fake 0's. I think the minor loss in traf...

MC has never had credibility anyway, mainly just because they are an aggregate site. It's still only basically useful for getting a quick take on a game and then allowing you to decide if you want to look into more reviews or not.

So take a slight amount of comfort in the fact that even if they remove a few top or low end reviews off any given score - ignoring the ethical implications - it would only move the overall score maybe a point or two in either direction. Not e...

Don't think people swear by Metacritic user reviews though lol

100%. I actually liked the game well enough after its first big content patch/update, played a decent chunk on my own. Then again for a bit more time when they opened up the multiplayer past that weird rune system. I've popped into VR for a little bit and am impressed with the implementation. It's amazing what they've managed to do, and they always seem to have more in the wings.

I think that this being Sean's dream game, paired with what must be just...loa...

On demand = years of code reworks and endless tweaks?

Though I agree in principle. It is interesting games/software are about the only things that have the ability to alter greatly after your purchase, maybe even into something you may not want. NMS is certainly an extreme in how much it has altered since launch, but overall the article seems a bit superfluous as the core topic is not exactly one that has lacked in discussion over the years.

Not entirely true. The new plan, Humble Choice, will have 10 games (or more) each month where you pick a monthly tier and get to choose a number of games depending on how much you pay. $5 is the pointless tier, getting no game choices and weird, small perks. The most expensive plan is $20 and lets you pick...I think 9 games. If you are an existing subscriber, you get a special plan no one else can get. It turns into the "classic" plan, which lets you continue paying $12 a month and ...

Yeah, but any game that you "cheese" is just fun because you are doing something you know the devs didn't intend. You feel like you're getting a shortcut to loot, or saving time, or whatever it is the cheese allows. If you could do it forever and everyone did it, it would ultimately not be fun anymore. And if the best period for a game was when it was being broken by its playerbase, then that doesn't speak well to the actual, core game being very good.

Parts, for the most part, are parts. I wouldn't knock a Pavilion just because of the name. Digital Storm are nice rigs, but they tend to be pricier all around than if you get a different brand. There are some small benefits to going to a more boutique builder like Digital Storm, but I'm not sure they outweigh the cost differential for most people.

1300x has lower CPU perf than a 2400g - 1300x is 4 cores no HT, 2400g in 4c/8t and has faster single core performance to boot. The 2600 is the obvious choice as it is a bit cheaper than a 2400g and has 6c/12t and a faster single core/package performance.

Makes you wonder why they went with the APU. Probably a bulk grab of one part that they put in all configs and then just supplement the "gaming" edition with the GPU.

I've been wondering why Sony has left the Nav to die, and assumed no dev opted to use it because Sony restricted it. I tested connecting the Nav a while back just for giggles, and it worked...kind of. Obviously if not made with the constraints in mind, it won't do the job well. Now that they've done it, I want two things.

1) More games to support the nav - if you don't need both hands tracked, use the Nav!
2) Let us use the damn SharpShooter now Son...

I was speaking specifically to PC, of course PS4 has had SharePlay for a while (I think 2014 or so). Share Play is more in line with Steam's Remote Play Together. I used it once or twice and it was neat.

I've used it once now on PC. Also neat. At least on PC neither of you need to pay for a premium subscription - on PS4 the sharer needs PS+ to use Share Play - to be able to use the feature. I paid for Plus for a while, but realized I just wasn't getting the valu...

It's mainly a game changer because it is becoming a built-in utility on the most-installed launcher for PC games. This function has existed in one form or another over the years. Nvidia had a (limited) option, but mainly there was Parsec. That's the main game changer here, its standard inclusion making it effectively ubiquitous overnight.

I used it to play Outward with my friend the other day. It worked fine. Latency isn't bad, but the compression is quite inten...

You could output your phone to a TV over HDMI. Though MS doesn't have this yet, Sony has a PC app for their Remote Play, so you could also use an old PC/Laptop/NUC etc to stream that way - I have to assume MS will have something similar at some point in the not to distant future.

Direct, onboard TV support would be nice, but I think without a standardized platform (maybe Roku or FireTV?) that'll be difficult, but more so that if there are platform holder (ie Samsung...

I'm not saying I agree with the author, but I fell they outlined well enough why it seemed problematic; that it didn't really do anything to focus on one aspect and ended up feeling a bit disjointed and lacking focus. It didn't really feel like a fan event, as they had very few fan-specific things and it felt very tailored to the streaming with some strange omissions for the folks who actually were at the event. It didn't feel like a celebration. It didn't feel like a publ...

It's kind of interesting how their shows work now. If you're in on Game Pass, then you're probably in on the show; by which I mean, instead of seeing a game and having to envision spending $20-60 on it, you get to go "nice, I have the pass, I get to play this game". You kind of have this thought of ownership already. If you aren't in on Game Pass? Then the show kind of takes on a different tone.

I've experienced both sides of the coin, as I...
