At this point I think we can all agree that user scores on metacritic are pretty useless. Read/watch some reviews and read the comments therein. Review bombers don't have the will or interest in writing anything of length, and they obviously would be very easy to pick out in their criticisms. Ignoring review scores is a good practice in general, but a million times more so for user score on metacritic lol.
They probably would if they owned a gaming PC. As is, I'm sure they only own a PS4 Pro, so I don't think it's really unreasonable to be miffed at the lack of support. If I wanted to play it and I only owned a Pro, I likely wouldn't let it stop me, but I get why others might make that choice.
That's some strange equating going on there. NBD for me since I'm playing on PC via Game Pass, but I'd be miffed if I owned a Pro (only have the launch console) and planned to play this on it.
You PC or XBO? I "pre-loaded" on PC via the Game Pass, but it only installed some 10MB placeholder. Not much pre-loading going on yet, at least on PC.
The next revolution? It's the current revolution, which I suppose makes it more like...the best of the status quo? The next revolution in gaming - well, console gaming - is coming out holiday 2020. Unless MS is just going to re-release the XOX again :-p
Shows how important it is to show off your game at the right time. They showed this off two years ago and had to keep delaying. I forgot this game existed! There was plenty of interest surrounding it a while ago, but I think they'll find they lost a lot of that groundswell from when it was first showed off - though maybe THQ can combat that by pumping solid money into adverts lol.
It'll be in good shape, bar the fact that even though they want to sell subscriptions, they lock off the millions of users they could be courting by leaving Arcade only open to iOS 13 users. Seems mind boggling stupid. Hopefully they decide to offer this to iOS 12 users as well, because those who don't already have new devices sure aren't going to be swayed by a subscription to do so.
iOS 12 users are annoyed, Apple loses out on potential subscriptions - where ...
There was ONE SENTENCE during their press junket around the D:I nonsense that proved this to me:
"In terms of Blizzard's approach to mobile gaming, many of us over the last few years have shifted from playing primarily desktop to playing many hours on mobile, and we have many of our best developers now working on new mobile titles across all of our IPs"
Best developers turning IPs into mobile titles. Primarily mobile players. I mean, what el...
How bittersweet the timing would be. One of your childhood favorites playable again in the twilight of your life. Just this time, it'll be in like...80k definition...and in roomscale hologram-o-vision. Well, the name will be the same at least lol.
NO! 8 is routinely forgotten, left out in the re-release schedules (or added in well after, like with Switch releases of 7 & 9, but no 8...hmmmm), and given a bit less love in general. Let us, those who love 8 the best of the PS1 era FFs, have something...for once!
I'm thinking they *might* have pivoted Switch to handheld to take over for 3DS because they will try to have a more powerful console next gen to...somewhat compete with MS/Sony. They probably won't go tflop to tflop, but they will have to be more powerful if they want to have third party support next gen. The Switch won't cut it for ports once holiday 2020 rolls around, so perhaps we'll see a slightly more conventional hardware approach from them then. The Switch would be a gr...
After all the money they made on GTA V and online, as well as the comments from the head honcho at Take2, there was honestly very little doubt.
@shaggy if the Steam sales charts are anything to go by, unfathomable amounts of them will buy it. GTA V is STILL managing to get in the top ten years after release.
Yikes, lots of free to play nonsense in that list. A few more premium options would not have gone amiss. And wouldn't it be more appropriate to list games that came out in 2019 rather than include older games everyone already knows about (I mean, Pokemon Go, PUBG and Fortnite...makes for a tame list when that's 3 of your 5).
Man, do I hear you. Doubly so after you get into the rhythm of waiting for games to get cheap. Then $60 starts to seem simply too expensive to ever justify, and you can wait 6-12 months for almost any game to hit $20. Just pretend the game is getting an extra 6 months of polish.
All of a sudden, your Day 1 experience is how it always should be: free of headaches, maybe now includes some previously paid DLC (aka potentially negating some of the "in my day, we didn't...
Oh boy, I've been an adult gamer since I was like 12 then lol. Who has the will to listen to randos spew random, hateful $#!t while trying to enjoy a game?
@september
I hear you, but out of your list the only games I don't own that I'm interested in are Astral Chain, Fire Emblem Three Houses and maybe Super Mario Maker 2.
{I've now realized I've written way too much. But here it is anyway, please feel free to skim or ignore as it pleases you lol.}
I was very hopeful at launch. I grabbed Mario Odyssey and Mario+Rabbids and enjoyed them quite a lot. Even though Smash & P...
I'm with you. But we are, I'm gathering, a smaller minority that owns multiple platforms. The value in Switch to us is in new games and experiences. It is the hardware exclusives. There are plenty that only own the Switch, so giving them this older content is still worthwhile.
Having bought the Switch as a secondary console for hardware exclusives, I knew the value would be limited. But I didn't expect it to be quite this limited so long after release. And it do...
It was, but I'll be honest, I didn't expect it to be as thorough as it has become. As a Wii U owner, it has kind of negatively impacted my personal value of my switch. Plenty of owners of the Switch who never had a Wii U are getting those great games, but those games are basically of zero value to me. They are spending time and effort on those ports; less, admittedly, than a new game, but it must cut down on original content creation in some fashion.
It then, retroa...
Per the article: "4K on Xbox One, no enhancements for PS4 Pro". So from that, it sounds like 4k is the only enhancement on the table. XOX is getting it. Pro isn't.
They said nothing about any type of improved graphics for the XOX, just that it will support - based on the only information we have so far - 4k and that's it. The Pro has "no enhancements", seeming to indicate no 4k. There's nothing indicating it will be getting any improvements o...
