From what I can tell, this is not hitting PC...it's UE5, why not? I don't have a new gen console yet, but have a capable PC. Not only strange to limit the audience, but they "partnered' with Epic...how is this not at least on the Epic store?

I'm not going to argue for one over the other, but I am curious about this line: "if you want just mindless carnage type fps killing, sure go with Doom".

Did you play Doom Eternal? That thing frustrated the hell out of me after a while, it would not allow you to be mindless lol. You had to change weapons, use different skills, NEVER STOP MOVING, hope you didn't run out of a specific ammo or get low on armor often, as you got to juggle cooldowns on flamethr...

Kind of like an instrumental song vs a song with lyrics. An excellently written melody can carry a song entirely, but if you add in lyrics that sound hokey/generic/just plain awful, it can make the song unlistenable.

It's about format & expectations. Arcade experiences like Tetris are all about the gameplay. They don't focus on graphics, they don't have a story; that's not what the devs went for, nor what the players are looking for. If you create a camp...

I do definitely hear you about NGVR, as there are a lot of things in there I've experienced between Rift & Index via PCVR; some, if leaks are to be believed, will be better. PSVR is pretty rudimentary as far as VR goes nowadays, but for the time - and the weaker hardware it was chained to - I think it worked phenomenally well. At least as a mostly stationary experience. And the supposedly simpler lenses looked great to my eye over the much ballyhooed fresnel lenses everyone else was u...

I'm a big fan of pushing the visual envelope, don't get me wrong, but it is still surprising to me how effective even old/simple visuals can be in VR. This was brought home to me playing RE4 on Quest 2. Definitely some dated visuals there, but it is still a fun game & the atmosphere is still really convincing. I definitely want the RE7VR/HL:A/etc visual VR treats, but I'm not too bummed as long as the VR implementation is done well.

Still requires quite a lo...

1st one was, indeed, great! It appears this is a timed exclusive to PSVR? No mention of Quest/PCVR, which is a bit of a bummer, but guessing it'll come at some point down the line. I'll be happy to play it wherever, though no PS5 yet. Guess this will come to both PS4/PS5, so I could play it on OG PS4 PSVR if nothing else.

The first worked well with PSVR, but I'm more excited to see what PSVR2 brings and - in the meantime - also hope to hear something about other...

It is obviously much simpler than good ol' 3D Rocket League, but for a pocket version it actually isn't bad. I actually think the Hoops game manages to translate better than the attempted standard 2v2 simulacrum. Still a decent amount of skill required, though junk goals are a little more common. I think they could do with increasing the size of the field. Touch controls are meh, but you can slap a controller on there & it makes things feel a fair bit better.

An...

It doesn't bother me to be disagreed with, but it does confuse me a little here. Do people not want a cheaper storage option for their games? Not every single PS5 game requires NVMe storage, a lot of the early ones take advantage mostly of improved load times & isn't required for the game to function.

Basically any multiplat that can be played on PC isn't requiring use of the fast on-board storage, so why not allow the option to use less costly storage? It&#...

To that point, I don't understand why there can't be a flag on PS5 for games that require NVMe storage. Allow normal SSD storage via external drives for any game that doesn't tell the machine it explicitly relies on it.

If it just speeds up loading, throw it on the SSD. If it is needed for on-the-fly world streaming, a la Ratchet, flag it for the NVMe and only let it install there.

How much money has the guy running Twinfinite spent on this game? This site is single-handedly keeping SC in the news feed at least once a week here on N4G lol.

I don't disagree that it stinks to know you aren't playing a game in its best form, but at least with this game it isn't a massive difference. I think you could just wait for a deep sale & pick it up to sort of counteract the lack of native PS5 option.

I understand if you still don't want to support the practice in general, but also consider Double Fine's new situation. At this point, their games will likely be only on Xbox/PC, so voting with your w...

Also from the video: "The people who love video games can always say, "What'd you do today?' 'I saved the world."

Maybe within the those-who-love-video-games crowd I'm a minority in this, but I've never been asked that question and given an answer like that lol.

Choosing the Skyrim release date, eh? That's an interesting choice. Hope this game turns out at least half as good (but with better combat lol).

Kind of funny thing is they really only needed the 1st "may". It would have conveyed the same info and that it was speculative, but seemed overall less washy.

"Bioshock 4 may be called Bioshock Isolation, use Unreal Engine 5, & have two cities".

Even No Man's Sky had multiple content updates throughout its first year, and it was STILL being shat upon. It truly took until Beyond - about 2 years later - for perception to turn in Hello Games' favor.

I don't see CDPR sticking with this for a NMS-lengthed time frame, offering up nothing but free content and expansions every few months. Hell, they already have paid DLC planned - optics on that are going to be tough to navigate. The template has been shown for...

And Steam Deck comes with a case, which most people buy for the Switch as well. That's an extra $20-$40 between case and online in the first year right there.

It's not a competition. You can tell this by the fact there isn't massive outlet coverage - not like a truly new console/handheld has. There isn't a massive advertisement campaign - no TV commercials, no site banners. They made a limited number to start out with as opposed to millions right off the bat. This will not be sold in stores, only through Steam - at least for now. This is not competing with anything. This is an extension device, a value-add to PC players.

This disagree ratio amuses me. Hard to disagree with the fact there are, indeed, 4 assignable buttons on the back of the Steam Deck...but shine on, you crazy disagreers lol
