Mines the same, and I was hammering the preorder button as soon as it went live. It took over an hour to actually get the order in thanks to how poorly Valve managed the load from the increased traffic. Crashes and errors abound.
My other friend who got his order in before mine was also Q1 2022. I think you had to be ultra lucky if you snagged a December 2021 slot.
It's become quite a popular thing to do in music. Chvrches, Pvris, et al.
It's a holdover from Latin, when there wasn't the letter U. There was a U sound, but it was represented as V in writing - V doing double duty, sounding like V or U depending on context. It seems to have become trendy to differentiate yourself this way (and I assume makes it way easier to be found via search engine lol).
Protecting copyrights and all that, but why can't companies do that while also allowing these things to exist? Perhaps there's a remaster in the works or something as well, but otherwise? Just protect your copyright by allowing the fan project to exist, but with provisos.
Things like "no money can be made off this project" and "we reserve the right to revoke this license at any time" - the latter in the event they decide to make something in the ...
Wearing their influences not just on their sleeves, but in flashing lights. Xel (obviously pronounced Zel) is a bit too on the nose. Wonder if they'll have a sidekick named Daah. Xel + Daah on their journey to defeat Ghan and his minion Nahn :-p.
In general, I understand calling a game only on one console an "exclusive", even if it also ends up on Windows. But the fact a site called Windows Report calls a game that's on both Windows and Xbox an "Xbox Exclusive" seems...weird. You'd assume PC was their primary focus with that name, so it feels weird for them to exclude it. Just me?
As much as I read about games, I had never heard of this. Ignoring that, I can't help but feel that "G String" was a poor choice of title. I think most hear a name like that and assume it's some kind of adult game. Problem being, it isn't going to satisfy those looking for that kind of experience, and it misleads the average gamer who might otherwise be interested in a core game like this.
Also just read this on the game page:
"The game i...
"Seeing every photo and video of the Steam Deck on the internet didn't prepare me for seeing it in person. It's a goliath—somehow way bigger than I expected, especially when compared side-by-side with a Nintendo Switch."
I'll be curious once I get mine to compare it to my Switch with the Split Pad Pro attachment - I bet it won't be quite as absurd a comparison at that point. And for that, I am glad - I really enjoy having the extra surface area to ...
Given the general look of the character, I was reminded a bit more of The Order 1886. I'm not going to say there aren't some improvements here, but the differences aren't overt. These kinds of tests are always neat to see, but never really end up being representative of the fidelity you end up getting in-game anyway.
Can't tell if being sarcastic or not...
I think the bottom line is just that "targeting" 30 fps sounded to most like that was the intended experience. Like if a dev for consoles said "targeting 30 fps", you'd know that's what that game was coming out in without question.
The Valve clarification is a bit more nuanced in that it points to 30fps as the floor. It's like console releases that have 30fps fidelity modes or 60f...
I don't think it has to be fanboy nonsense. An opinion is simply an opinion. I own a Switch, I also put in a reservation for a Steam Deck. As much as I enjoyed MR:KB and Odyssey (played BotW on Wii U), I haven't gotten a lot of use out of my Switch - most of the 1st party games just haven't appealed to me this gen.
I personally was using my Switch as a handheld indie machine, but with my Steam library comprising nearly 2,000 games at this point - many of them in...
I agree it's a better offering as well, and for many of the reasons you state. Not only do I have a massive library already, I mostly used the Switch as a handheld indie machine. Occasionally rebuying games I already owned, mostly getting others on sale and knowing they were stuck on that hardware. I'm a big fan of the fact I can pretty much just sell off my Switch now and use my existing Steam library instead. I wish Nintendo made more 1st party games I care about, and put their titl...
Yeah, though given the audience for this device - at least initially - those who are interested enough would be savvy enough to install Windows and avoid the Linux/Proton issues entirely. That said, Valve has said this is a new version of SteamOS, and it does sound like it has improved Proton game compatibility, so we'll see on that front.
The title is a bit misleading, as the article talks about the fact it was found there were 100,000 reservations *available* for pre-order, not that that was actually the number given out to everyone who wanted one. They also note "though that’s not the final tally officially" as there are obviously more pre-order waves opening up in the near future.
My assumption is Valve - as a company that only dabbles in hardware - would have to be fairly cautious with how many...
I'd have been game if it was just some random account creation and code redemption, but downloading Omen software, running it, signing up for an account, and then launching a game through it is definitely way too much for it to be worth it.
I mean, it was definitely an issue though. Me and several friends tried to get one immediately as the page went live. One of us got it about 30 minutes in. The other 2 about an hour in. I got mine after and hour and a half. The site would crash. It would log me out. I'd log back in, and then it would throw up an unknown error. Repeat. Then it would tell me I've tried to buy things too many times recently and wouldn't let me try to buy anything for a while. Then I'd get through...
This is exactly what I was looking for! I'm just about sold on this, though I do wish they would have asked if the screen supported VRR/FreeSync. Useful when you're stuck with a moderate performance envelope that can never be upgraded.
It's a toggle. I mean, as easy mode detractors like to say about games like Nioh and Sekiro - let the director have their vision, and if that doesn't match up with yours then this just happens to be a game that isn't for you.
And, may I remind you...it's a toggle. Don't use it if you don't want and/or need it.
It's in very early access right now. I'm sure it will ultimately end up on consoles, but not until it is a more feature complete product. Unless you're interested in buying in way too early, you aren't missing much yet.
I think it might be down to how much is being reflected. In at least the 1st two cases, you can see cars in the post patch picture where none are present in the pre-patch. The quality of the reflections, on the face of it, look pretty similar, so I'm guessing it's down to improvements to the cutoff point of what is being reflected.
EDIT: then again, I'm now seeing at least 1 taxi in the lower portion of the second shot pre-patch so...yeah, I don't know lol. ...
No Man's Sky seems to have a better chance of being updated to become this game, than this game actually releasing. Kickstarter was 9 years ago at this point! Crazy...
