Late approval process lol. Today's free game is "Moving Out", another one of those kinda casual co-op games with funky controls and "physics" designed for frustrationy-fun. Already had it & Mages of Mystralia from bundles, so hopefully there's something good tomorrow.
Not THAT extreme lol. I don't want to expound too much on things, as I feel like it comes off as me thumbing my nose at something someone did for fun in their free time, but it just feels like the more unique thing would have been to see how it could have worked as a game 30ish years ago.
If they just wanted to do art, I guess it feels like they could have done just a few still screens or something; the opening elevator ride to the clouds was certainly cool, though. I t...
I was curious how they'd handle the demake version of combat & traversal on the iconic sky tracks. I see they did so by not recreating far enough in the game to show it off in action lol. Guess I kinda thought the point of these was to try to show how modern game mechanics would play out if developed on consoles of yore, but was at least a neat visual translation.
Short answer is "no", btw. :-(
I hear you. I got myself in on a preorder, and I go back & forth on if I should REALLY throw another $500 at something like this. It's exactly what I've wanted for a long time, but I don't travel nearly as much as I used to.
But, ya know, I want it still lol.
I tossed an email to them asking if the Amazon Games version will get updated, as it hasn't as of yet. I'm betting against it, but hey, askin's free!
That's a weird thing to hope for lol
One of the big reasons I'm looking forward to the Steam Deck. No requiring devs to integrate cross-save, and no double-dipping. Bummed the launch got delayed.
I kinda hear you, but I think it's less about "how the mighty have fallen", and more so due to the fact that excellent deals can be found all year round now. With bundles, keysellers (legit ones, like GMG/Fanatical/etc), and just plain regular sales, gaming on the cheap is easier than ever. I think our idealized perception of the good ol' days of Steam Sales is skewed thanks to the frequent 50-75% off sales we can find regularly now.
I do think the old fla...
Prey looks likely for tomorrow then (given Vampyr & Pathfinder were correct), which is great!
I almost bought it a few times when it got real cheap (sub $10), but opted not to given the absurd backlog I have. Definitely pays to wait until you know 100% you're going to play a game before buying it.
This info must have been shared before, because I was sure I'd see this comment section flooded with cries of relief! The hue and cry over healthbars specifically truly surprised me. I kinda get it, but it wouldn't have ruined the game for me.
This feels premature. I do agree the FFVIIR port was barebones, but at least it works (though the fact you have to use DX11 to fix stuttering is ludicrous). They really only point to that & GTA Trilogy as data points. GTA Trilogy had practically the same issues- (absurd rain, poor performance relative to the hardware, etc. - on all platforms. I could say "look at CP2077 & Halo: MCC to see how broken games are on console". 2 examples is too few, & poor work can happen on ...
You'll be best served by having 99% of your games on Steam, but I also have a few other launchers - some required, others by choice. Mainly I'll use those if there's a better deal available & I know they are feature complete. You'll be well served to have Epic's launcher, even if only to get free games; weekly most of the time, with 1 free every day for 2 weeks around Christmas. I'll also grab stuff there on occasion when it is both on sale & have one of their ...
Yeah, you're right. I have no idea how I got things all mixed up there. I think I did one of those things where I read an article about 16 and then read this one and mashed them together somehow. I truly don't know lol.
This is fine for a side project. They are kind of all over the map, with things like World of FF even having a different artstyle entirely. I'll quietly take my disagrees and hang my head in shame for the mixup there lol.
I didn't remember Xbox had Discord integration, and so I looked it up. Read an article that says it only works on Xbox One, not Series S/X, and that it can only show what you're playing, but not actually do any kind of voice/text/etc...is that true? It seems an odd choice to even bother supporting it if it is that limited.
I assume there's a chance the article is out of date - it *claims* to be 15 days old, but you never know given how sites like to try to game...
It's good to know an option exists to help remove stuttering, but since you'd have to shut everything down, go into BIOS, disable HT, boot back in to play...I'm not saying it is the end of the world, but it is obnoxious to do for one game, especially given this isn't necessary for practically any other game.
You'd think a game supposedly taken from the PS5 version, which has a very similar 8c/16t AMD CPU in it with similar architecture to what's on ...
Yeah, given this is a numbered game in the series, it's a little surprising that Square isn't stepping in to help up the presentation a bit. It seems pretty clear this title is mostly being developed by Team Ninja. They've made solid games, for sure, but their graphical presentations - while solid - have never really been up to the standards Square usually sets for the main FF games.
FFXV was, indeed, well done. Had a robust settings menu, and even included some PC specific tech (though I'm guessing that was partly thanks to Nvidia partnering with them).
But yeah, FF XIII-2 crashed so many times I finally gave up. Obviously they had ultra bare-bones PC settings, but I'd have been fine if it just, ya know, ran.
FF VIII lovers unite! I'm so used to seeing that get poo-pooed in FF discussions. FFVIII is my favorite of the PS1 era. FFXII is my favorite of the PS2 era. I think my love of FFVIII is definitely more nostalgia driven, as every time I try to replay it, I can't seem to get too deep into it. FFXII, however, I've replayed several times. Still holds up!
If you just got a Switch, and never had a Wii U, I can imagine how it would seem rosier. From my POV (having owned it from the start, & owning a Wii U), this is the most disappointed I've been with a Nintendo console in a while. I know that's funny to say after the WIi U debacle, but I own a lot more for that than I do my Switch. And the fact I can't buy any Nintendo games on a decent sale, some being 4 years old, still kinda irks me.
