I'm happy to see the sentiment of "too long" become the majority over time. If it was 500 hours of quality content, I wouldn't argue, but I'm sure most of that is quantity over quality. Open world games can add a lot of cruft to really pad that runtime waaaay out. Lots of busywork & collect-a-thon stuff; I got the plat in AC3 and had to get all the feathers...that SUCKED. Not that kinda stuff please lol.

I want devs to focus on a tight, well crafted ga...

You have to hope a Platinum (or all achievements playthrough) won't require 500 hours to get. If so, expect basically no one to have one lol.

You stuck out a plat in a game it sounded like you didn't really love that much? I can't even get them in games I love to death lol. I've got all of 2 to my name, and that was back in the PS3 era.

I think it came out at an unfortunate time where Open World AND Zombies were really hitting their fatigue points for a lot of people. It just made for a "uuugggh, another one of THOSE" scenarios, before people even got their hands on it.

Also, I'm glad they didn't have any traditional survival mechanics (that's my new fatigue genre lol), BUT I do wish they had better "scavenging" mechanics for fuel. The fact I could always go back to the same...

101!? I've got a whopping 2, both gotten back in the PS3 era lol. I wish they had like a "Plat" and a "Diamond" or something. 1 for playing through the game & doing most of the stuff in your average playthrough, and then one for the completionists. I think I'd feel a little more connected to trophies if that were the case.

Instead, it feels like I get a sizeable chunk through a game's trophies and find that to get the last 15% or so, you&...

I didn't keep up with the hacking scene on this. In the early goings, I did try and had a hard time getting it working. When Rift + Touch hit $400, I just went that route since there was a lot of jank & headache still required to get PSVR working on PC. Did it end up working better in the end?

Even if that wasn't the best, given this has all inside-out tracking & a single USB-C cable - instead of that breakout box & PS Camera complicating things - I'...

I mean, PSVR2 being cross compatible would not only be consumer friendly to those that play both PC & PS5, but it would STILL be an option on PlayStation that Microsoft doesn't have even one option for in its ecosystem. Still surprised after the Scorpio tease of being a great VR machine, that they're STILL ignoring VR.

I "had" to buy a PSVR and Rift last gen to get access to all the VR goodness, but I held out for a while to see if PSVR support would c...

Index exists, and at least FB/Meta is going to allow the decoupling of FB accounts from Oculus hardware this year. I still would love PSVR2 as an option - those specs look excellent, and to have one headset that can be used across hardware would be incredibly ideal. I had to buy a PSVR and Rift last gen to get the full VR fix lol.

A little begging, perhaps, but more so hoping. More than anything, I'd love to have an option that doesn't cost $1000 like the Index, that also allows me to get Facebook entirely out of my life AND could be compatible with PS5. I had hoped PSVR was going to work on PC in some fashion, but later ended up getting a Rift when the bundle hit $400. By the time PSVR 2 comes out, I'll likely be in a similar situation in terms of what HMD to upgrade to - PSVR or PCVR, and I'd really l...

Install base, plain and simple. PSVR also had to deal with the base PS4 hardware, limiting its potential (though that's where I use it, and it could pump out some surprisingly good visuals when balanced well). I have several VR platforms, and it is worth having them, but it depends on what you're expectations are. If you only want big, AAA games, you'll find few of them. But you will find a great many interesting smaller games, and inhabiting worlds and using your hands in games i...

Horizon VR, by way of the trailer, shows that it is being developed by Firesprite games. They did The Persistence, which appears to have...ok reviews. I'll be curious to see how they handle such a big property. I'm a little surprised Sony didn't get someone more entrenched, like a Survios or the like.

That said, this likely has a very minor impact on Guerilla's workforce. I'm sure they are providing some support, but obviously nowhere near if they were d...

Sure, no tracked controllers in RE7, but it did at least let you inhabit that world. It put a whole different feel to that game being IN it. But I do think my point would have been better made using No Man's Sky like I did in my 2nd comment, just so happened RE7 was the first thing that popped into my head.

RE4VR is a really well done conversion, all things considered. Playing on Quest 2, I like that they went for physicalized storage of weapons and ammo - it makes game...

I'd never want them to stop making VR-specific games altogether, obviously. But I do hope to see more RE7 typed VR support.

There are so many game properties that will never come to VR otherwise, and I'd love a chance to get fully immersed in their worlds. And it'd be great to be able to play in VR and then move back to playing in 2D whenever the mood suits you. It's a great option in No Man's Sky & RE7!

I'm excited that there's a Horizon VR game, but I'm a little bummed that it isn't Horizon:FW that has VR support instead. I kinda hoped they'd be trying to build VR support into more of the core games.

HOWEVER, don't get me wrong. I'm well aware that most of the best experiences in VR are one's built from the ground up with VR in mind. But we saw that games like Resident Evil 7 worked great with VR support just added on to the base game, and...

I still don't think the author made a compelling argument by saying since MS bought Bethesda, FO5 is coming sooner than we think. I think it likely comes down to when the visionaries/directors/etc are available for making the mainline titles.

Bethesda has so much money, I don't think it was more hands they needed. If all they needed to pump out mainline games was another studio, I have to think they'd have already done that. Given the last time they added a stud...

@got

Yeah, I know about the absurd current monetization, but I imagine that'll only last so long. Very few people are going to be willing to spend thousands on a digital ship, and most of those are going to be purchased before the game launches. So I still think they're going to have to stuff the game with MTX - MICROtransactions - to make money off the common folk. They're gonna use up their whales pretty hard by the time the game actually releases...at least, ...

I am interested in the game, but I'm not interested in buying something like this early. Even with all their money, the feature creep and massive scope means a successful completed game is not a guarantee. I almost picked up a pack during the holiday when it was on sale, but opted not to in the end. So I think there will be some, but I've had the same thought. If they want to keep making money on this game, I can't help but fear gross MTX stuff is going to be stuffed into this gam...

Indeed. And given it is a Drinkbox game, I'm pretty hopeful. Really enjoyed both Guacamelee games, and even their older game Tales from Space was pretty good.

Fair enough. I just heard that even if you don't traditionally like that kind of thing, there's enough going on in it that you'd still probably like it. And that it was going to change RPGs going forward. Things like that, so I guess I just felt like there'd be a game in here somewhere. Bummer.

I mean, at least in Point and Clicks you tend to have to pick up items & solve some kind of puzzles. I think the closest I've come to that is "there'...
