Yeah, like Microsoft's background service somehow uniquely affects ONLY Ubisoft games? They really need to think these excuses through lol.
If you buy the prologue right now for $9.99 you'll get Bright Memory Infinite when it releases. Can't imagine the game will end up being any cheaper than that for a while once it does launch.
A bit disingenuous to say, given no one could port this game to something like the NES lol.
Now, I know what he's saying. And I mean, even on PC there is a minimum specification, so there are limits in terms of how low they are willing to go for the game to still look & play the same to achieve their vision. Obviously you could continue to cut a game down to make it run on weaker and weaker hardware, but at some point you'll hit enough limitations that it would ...
Yeah, sunsetting/vaulting is super awkward. If the whole game was free to play, sure, do what you like. I'm sure there are instances where keeping all that content active creates certain balance headaches, and makes it harder for new players to even know what to play. But to take away things people paid for is pretty indefensible.
And then to turn around and continue to ask people to not only pay for things each season, but gate more of it off in higher-priced editions ...
I'd say better not to expect to see Hellblade for a while. Their last video, which was only a few months ago if I recall correctly, stated they were finally getting down to making a vertical slice. That straight up shocked me. This game was announced via CGI trailer in 2019, and by mid 2021 they hadn't even made a vertical slice yet, much less any progress on the actual game. Actual game development will only truly begin, it seems, after the vertical slice is completed.
The kind of bizarre thing is that this article doesn't discuss why Back 4 Blood specifically made him question anything. It's the exact same question that's been debated since the beginning. "Own it" or "rent it". Given the lack of features of the Xbox app, though, I wouldn't actually use it as a "marketplace" - that is, a place to buy games. You can buy them there, but it seems like unless the deal was VERY good, that would be ill-advised. As a r...
@demonseye He can compare it because he didn't say "best value for console-subscriptions-that-are -required-for-online-and-also- include-montly-game-rentals ", but rather "best value in gaming". It's something I've argued for in discussions about best value in gaming, but I always concede it'll be different for everyone due to what their preferences/priorities are. It's why we have choices, beautiful, beautiful choices!
How can it be both obvious but also badly worded?
The title is fairly clear, but if you had any confusion, the blurb under the headline spells it out.
@DJStotty Bro, I'm not saying 5 cans is a big deal. I'm not saying anything here matters other than the fact that mini fridges can be had for half the price (and hey, they can even hold a bit more). I'm not sure what you're getting at here...
I was poking fun at the fact they bothered to say "1:1 scale replica". If they said 1:1, but omitted scale, hey, fine as they could be talking about visual detail. But when you add "scale", that means something totally different. I know what they meant, but still...silly word choice lol.
I suppose one could argue they were poking fun at the size of the console itself, saying it was as huge as a fridge already, but most of the internet ire for console si...
A random side musing.
I invest in crypto, so definitely not some luddite who is against it. But I still find it a bit strange that we talk about crypto as an alternative form of currency. It is, at least right now, like stocks. It is mostly pure speculation. There are coins that have functions in terms of ferrying information, that have technological value, but in very few places can you actually spend them. It is mostly about betting on coins, selling out back into fiat or...
I think the depth of PoE's loot and crafting system are great, but if you are doing Solo Self Found (which is what a single player RPG would be akin to) you'll be struggling if you are trying to get a specific build going. That's the one thing I do not love about PoE - its reliance on trading & how obnoxious it is. Most gear you find yourself is only viable during the leveling process - and not even then, if you want it to take forever to get to the endgame. Any endgame gear n...
Same, I had a folder for Disc, Digital, PSVR, and Demos. It felt the easiest to me to find things that way for whatever reason. The fact Switch still doesn't have folders baffles me, and I hope Sony doesn't follow suit. I still don't have a PS5 yet, but I'd love for that to be there when I finally do.
We did it, everyone! We've officially used the Far Cry "pun" to its limit! Since 2004, journalists and commenters alike used this excellent play on words. It may have taken a while, but what a relief to know conclusively that after 17 years this joke is no longer fresh. It was a good run.
6:36 on is also quite the thing. "OK guys, when you start speaking - and I mean EVERY time you start speaking - put your arms out, palms facing one another like you are telling the audience how big a fish you caught. Nailed it!"
I guess at least it isn't the same "tick tick BOOOM" kinda song you get with these kinds of trailers, we all know the one. But this is...something else, that's for sure.
Also those character models are lookin' a couple gens old lol.
The XSX Fridge holds 10 cans, so it might be smaller than you think. For example, this Frigidaire mini fridge holds 15 cans and costs under $50:

"Xbox Series X Fridge, a 6-foot, 400 pound, 1:1 scale replica"...wait, is the Xbox Series X 6 feet tall?! How can a 6 foot tall, 400 pound object be a 1:1 scale replica of a console? Doesn't 1:1 indicate that it is the exact size of the intended object?
If you own a PS5 w/disc drive, the upgrade will be free. Hell, if you own The Witcher 3 they're giving the next gen upgrade for free, so you'd hope they'd do it with a waaaay newer release lol.
I'm too cynical to take most of these releases at face value anymore.
To me, this reads "We waited to say anything or take action because we needed time to see how well the XP boosters sold. They didn't sell well enough to offset the negative sentiment, so we're removing them now. Can we have a pat on the head for this totally altruistic, consumer-focused move, please?"
