I way overestimated how ambitious this game was. I didn't think it was going to exactly be Kirby Odyssey, but I thought the spaces would be larger, wider, and have more to do & discover in them. That demo showed it was much smaller in scope than I felt the trailers were presenting it as.

VERY linear, very little to discover in each little level. I was really underwhelmed with what was on offer. Anyone else? Or did this mostly live up to what you wanted/expected fro...

I just wish they had an option to get Aloy to keep her chatter down. Especially in puzzle rooms. It's like Guerilla don't trust us to figure literally anything out on our own.

Put an option in for a button prompt to pop up for musing aloud when she would say things like "maybe I should use my focus", or "I think I can open that grate". Give me 2 seconds to get to the answer on my own lol.

It sounds weird to me to hear you think quality mode feels good - not because I think you're wrong, but because my experience with it is very different. I tried using quality mode after using performance mode for a while and I just couldn't do it. It felt so visually jarring.

HOWEVER, I think it may be down to the fact I'm using an OLED. My understanding is that is one of the downsides to the very fast pixel response time. There's no "ghosting" (pi...

It's obviously not "Why Elden Ring is Better Than EvertonFC Thought". It's basically just a call to those who went, huh, I can't put my finger on it but this game turned out better than I thought. That, fwiw, happens to include me this time. I haven't been a fan of previous Souls games, but I'm really loving this one.

There are plenty other "You" articles that have nothing to do with me. Not all of them will. Just a title format that ...

Totally agree with you. And I've truly struggled to get as much value from Switch this gen. I had a Wii U, so had all those games that were ported over & didn't want to rebuy. Loved BotW (though played on Wii U), Odyssey, even liked M+R:KB. Those games were worth $60, but I honestly don't feel like a good portion of their other games are worth that, given their development team sizes & simpler graphical presentation. Games like Metroid Dread shouldn't cost the same as ...

It feels a bit weird to say that you could play a game for 2-3 hours and still not be sure if you like it or not. I mean, if I'm not liking a game after that long the odds are I'm not going to keep going. I suppose I might not be able to understand the full scope of how great it could be with a shorter demo, but it would allow me to get a feel for it. For how obfuscated things are (I hated how I had to look basically everything up in a Wiki for Demon's Souls 2020). How I feel the ...

I honestly feel like the only way a demo could "hurt it" would be if it hurt sales because people opted to not buy it. But at this point, most people are buying it based on their love of other From/soulslikes titles anyway. The number of preorder sales alone show this (Steam has nearly 100k *reviews* for this game already). Can't imagine too many of those people would have waited for a demo to drop, and then opted NOT to buy it.

The demo, in this case, would p...

I think it'd be great if they kept the combat difficulty, but allowed a "Don't Need a Wiki" mode. Let people who love to learn everything themselves play normally. Those who love using Wikis/community walkthroughs & info can still have the option to play that mode as well. But let people who just want to know what the hell this thing does, or how to like...equip a spell...be able to learn those things IN THE GAME.

Given how many people love these games...

The last line in this is 100% where I'm at: This game needs a demo! I miss demos...

I own a bunch of the Souls games, mostly through bundles, but Bloodborne & Demon's Souls 2020 by direct purchase. I liked that more than any of the other Dark Souls games. I just didn't get DS2020.

There's a lot about this game, though, that is intriguing to me. The open world having a true sense of discovery, for one. I've watched some streams, and...

I simply wish this game had a demo - a 1 hour time trial or something.

Over the years, I've accrued just about every souls game, via bundle or direct purchase. I never really enjoyed Dark Souls, though I did like Bloodborne more. I bought Demon's Souls remake on PS5 and I just...I kinda hate it. I hate how obfuscated everything is in these games. I get how if you love figuring it all out, and compiling the walkthroughs, how you'd love it.

But ...

FWIW, regarding the Steelbook, I assume it has two slots because the PS4 version comes with a data disk and a play disk. Could still work for the PS5 versions, but I'm assuming they didn't intend for it to mount a CD as PS4 owners wouldn't have anywhere to put theirs.

Still, I'm actually more shocked that the collectors edition doesn't come with a physical soundtrack either. Is it only good for downloading on the console? That's pretty obnoxious. I u...

From have never exactly been known for their PC porting excellence. As long as it is running as intended, without frame caps, and running fullscreen properly, that's a solid showing on PC from them all considered.

Huh. Not a big deal that I got downvotes, but I'm pretty shocked people disagreed with this. I'd love to hear other people's takes on this.

"2 digit IQ mongrel"? Come on, man, get that nonsense out of here. We can disagree with each other without being disrespectful.

"Internal meeting" maybe, but I'm sure it is no accident these sentiments were "leaked". This is very clearly a ploy meant to:

--Have fans advocate that FIFA let EA do whatever it is they haven't been able to do.
--Prove to FIFA that EA doesn't value their license as highly as they think, in a naked attempt to bring the cost of the license down in upcoming negotiations.

If FIFA thinks there's a slim chance EA w...

Quick addendum. Only Bravely Default 2 is on PC. I think I must have been including Octopath Traveler as the other title. BD1 is still only on 3DS. Sorry bout that!

I'd love if they'd try their hand at interweaving their talent for stories with some traditional gameplay.

I also really appreciate this art style, but I can't help but feel these should be cheaper games as well. They are able to use much smaller teams, do less intense art & engine work, and - in the case of this article - are remakes to boot, so they have a template to work from.

$50-60 for these games doesn't feel right to me.

1440d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

They will/are. If you're on PC, at least. Bravely Default I & II are on PC. About a 6 month lag for BD2. Square enjoys their money, and basically every platform that has one of their games as an exclusive is simply timed. PC is the safest bet for these games to come to after Switch, but I wouldn't be surprised if they have wider releases as well.

Less so than a lot of unreleased products, at least. We have seen teardowns from Valve & iFixit, gotten CAD files of the machine direct from Valve, view the evolving compatibility list, and gotten reviews with at least some performance metrics.

Still, we'll have the best picture once it finally gets wide release here. Not much longer to wait!
