Microsoft is trying to unify all their platforms. They are basically shifting their focus from Xbox as a platform to Windows 10 as a platform. I wouldn't be surprised if it was technically possible to use the Scorpio as a Windows 10 PC and for example play your steam games on it. Wether or not MS will enable those functions depends on how hard they try to push the Windows Store and UWP.
@thisgamer503: Yeah. By mistake I based my comment on Nvidia GPUs so you're definitely right about that. Seeing that MS would probably use something along the lines of AMD's new Polaris cards it's quite possible that the Scorpio is going to be much more affordable than I initially anticipated. But still it's hard to estimate the price without knowing the full details.
@Yetter: I'd take almost any bet that it won't be 499$ or less. I don't see how it would be possible to launch a 6TFLOP console in 2017 for 499$ without taking a huge loss on every console sold no matter how much mass ordering MS is doing.
Keep in mind that this is meant to be a premium high end product. I wouldn't be surprised if MS would launch a medium tier Xbox that is spec'd between the Xbox One S and the Scorpio.
Edit: Actually I...
Hard to say really with knowing only the TFLOPS. It could be anything from 650$ up to 1000$. When they publish more hardware information especially about the CPU it'll be easier to make an educated guess. If I had to take a bet right now I'd put my money on 749$ (which would probably still be a really good deal for the power that's inside).
Well with 6TFLOPS this thing isn't going to be cheap that's for sure. I'd be surprised if it was less than 649$ personally. Of course it's hard to predict the price point without knowing the hardware that's built in.
Agreed. EA was very disappointing but Bethesda had a solid conference imo. Would've been nice to see some gameplay for Quake and Prey but at least we know that those games are being worked on.
The big conferences (MS and Sony) are still to come.
If they can make a great single player campaign for this one I'm in.
Geoff is a cool dude but he has overhyped all kinds of gaming events in the past so I'm not going to take his word for it. Not that I needed anyone to hype me up for E3 anyway. I'm in E3 mode since this week started. I'm taking 2 days off to watch the press conferences.
Looks promising. I'm a bit sceptical on the main character's design though. I'll keep an eye on this
I played a couple of hours by myself and I'd really appreciate more game modes. Everything is attack this point or defend this point. Those game modes are probably fun when playing in a team with team chat where you can coordinate your actions and team comp but when playing with random people it doesn't really work for me.
If it had some standard modes with less emphasis on strategy like TDM or CTF I'd probably enjoy the game much more.
Anoth...
Maybe I should give this another go on PS4. I remember giving up on it after 15 hours or so on PS2.
For me Uncharted 4 is the perfect ending to the series. In the context of the series it's definitely my number one pick however It can only be that good because it heavily benefits from the foundation of its predecessors. It cleverly uses the players nostalgia which wouldn't work if you didn't play the whole series.
I agree with your points but for me there were so many more:
-Carry Weight limit is annoying especially early on
-Too many must have perks that stop you from building the character your own way until leveling up quite far
-Not enough enemy-types
-Power Armor is unnecessary
-Legendary Loot is meh most of the time
-VATS should've stopped time instead of the slow motion effect
-The story is underwhelming
-Too m...
Same here. It's very rare that I get hooked by multiplayer-centric games so this is probably not for me. I guess it's not their only project though so hopefully R@D are working on another single player-centric game as well.
I just think E3 is a little too early for Uncharted DLC to be announced. PSX is more likely imo.
Here are the things that I'm hoping to see:
Likely:
God of War 4
Bend Game
Ready @ Dawn game
PS4 Neo
Possibly:
Sucker Punch game
No Man's Sky VR edition
Deep Down reannouncement
From Software game
The Last of Us 2 teaser
Playstation All-Stars 2
Unlikely:
Kojima Productions game teaser
Resistance reboot
Medievil
...
I personally don't see the need for video game movies at all especially when we're talking about story/character driven games. I just don't like the idea of having an entirely different cast of actors play those roles. But then again I don't mind those movies too much. If the movie sucks (which it often does) I just ignore it.
They should've installed a cup holder instead.
Battlefront vanilla looks better than this mod imo. SweetFX based mods don't really improve anything, they just change the look of the game. More often than not it ends up ruining the IQ of the game by screwing with saturation, contrast and sharpening filters. It may be fun to play around with it a bit but in the end I rather have the game look like the artists intended it to look.
It was a near perfect conference. They've set the tone from the first second the orchestra started playing. Then it was hit after hit after hit. Sony schooled them all this year. Well done.
