Damn. I really don't want to buy a Switch cause I have no use for the portable aspect of the console but I want to play this game so bad.
In regards of the story I'd agree but the gameplay of Second Son is the best of the franchise.
I wish they would stop with this limited time nonsense. I liked the carnival and now I can't play it anymore. This is not the type of game that I want to play once a week for a whole year just to make sure I don't miss out on anything.
The weather is dynamic so it's hard to get a fair comparison. It's obvious that the weather wasn't quite the same when looking at the background. Could you specify what you mean by extra leaves?
Did you seriously just drew that analogy between playing playing a game and getting hit by a truck? Talking about flawed thinking.
Double the power of the GPU has no impact on the boost mode. It still emulates a standard PS4. It simply benefits from the 14% higher clocked GPU and the 30% higher clocked CPU. Games with an unlocked framerate will probably benefit the most. Games that have a framerate cap but struggle to hit the target will also benefit (especially when the game is bottlenecked by the CPU).
The start of this year is crazy. I haven't even bought The Last Guardian yet and already there are Resident Evil 7 and Yakuza 0 which I'm interessted in with Horizon and Nioh around the corner.
@Barricade_BE: My reply to you should've made clear that my surprise just comes from the actual stat that is presented here. Highlighting obvious facts and explaining basic knowledge isn't necessary. Maybe next time instead of offering extra lessons on math you should take one on reading comprehension first.
Fun stuff. I'm surprised how many assets they created for the carnival. Warping around in Altissia is cool too. Sadly it's only in for a month though. What's the point in creating all this content when it's only available for a limited time?
@Barricade_BE: There is no point in highlighting any extremes here. The average PS4 gamer has had the console for roughly one and a half years and has bought 7.5 games.
Everytime I see the attach rate of any platform I'm surprised how little games the average gamer buys.
It's probably going to beat the PS3 numbers. PS1 might be a close one but there is no way it's reaching anywhere near the 150 millions of the PS2.
I don't see a problem with a multiplayer only game winning Goty even though Overwatch didn't click with me personally. I haven't played nearly enough of the game to have an educated verdict but a lot of gamers seem to enjoy the game and if I'm not mistaken it's also one of the most critically acclaimed games of last year.
Does any opinion that doesn't agree with the general consensus seem ridiculous to you?
I agree with you 100%.
If they add some details to the story, add higher difficulty, add more playable content and polish the stuff that's already there up a bit it'll be masterpiece.
By the end the story is concluding with a pace that it feels like it's skipping over a lot of important details like the disappearance of the empire for example. I know it's kinda explained but it feels like a much too important subject for the little detai...
Man back in the PSOne days Cambridge studio was awesome with Medievil and C-12. It's sad to hear that Sony is shutting the studio down especially after they've just released one of the more interessting looking VR titles.
I really hope they do. The game was a little too easy anyway. NG+ will be pretty nonsensical if they don't up the difficulty singnificantly.
My post above has some spoilers so you probably shouldn't read. I've finished the game and my spoilerfree opinion is: The game has it's flaws but it still ended up being a great game. I'd encourage you to try it out for yourself but if you're not sure you can wait as Tabata said that they are going to continue to work on improving the game for quite some time.
Careful Spoilers incoming:
I just finished it yesterday and want to share some of my thoughts. First of all it's obvious that the game could've used another couple of months of dev time. Here are my main cons of the game:
Some story elements should've been more fleshed out. You pretty much have to watch Kingsglaive to even understand what is going on in the game. I'd also recommend watching Brotherhood by the way as it gives some backstory...
That's what I'd do if I had one. Buying a Wii-U is hard to justify right now because it's pretty much a dead console while the Switch has a future ahead of itself and a lot of Wii-U games are being ported with additional content for the Switch. The only real reason (albeit a big one for me personally) to buy a Wii-U over a Switch would be Bayonetta 2 but Nintendo might bring that over to the Switch at some point as well.
